He is a bridge between his two families, he is neither one over the other. He feels drawn to the concept of love and wishes to tell love stories to those who would listen. Dastan is a hopeless romantic even if he does not look it. Appearance wise he looks more like his mother's family, which may scare some away and make them unwilling to listen to his tales of love. He tries to not let that upset him. Just like his mother he is mischievous, but he has yet to torment helpless squirrels with his pranks.
He cares for family above all else, it causes him great sadness to see the pain his father carries because of Anaon leaving. He wants to help ease that pain in any way he can.
