Kat grinned. "Johnny... You ok?" she whispered near his ear.

Johnny hissed.

Kat pulled back, giving him space. She moved some of his hair from his face with her fingertips, but other than that, she hung back.

Johnny took deep breaths. "I hate her so much. She comes out of nowhere.....and this happens," Johnny laid on the ground motionless with his eyes closed due to the hallucinogen.

"My guess is that she's shown up before..." Kat replied.

Johnny sat up and opened his eyes. He looked at Kat as if nothing was wrong, the pain still searing. "She showed up twice."

"Were other girls involved?" Kat asked curiously, brushing yet more hair out of his face.

Johnny clenched his teeth briefly because of the pain, "Yeah they were a group. I killed the others though...."

"And she's hit you with this kind of blade before?" Kat asked quietly, stroking his cheek with her thumb.

"Only once before...but it didn't have this effect." Johnny bit his lip.

"I'm so sorry," Kat whispered. She kissed his forehead. "What can I do?"

"The only thing you can do is be by my side."

Kat sat crosslegged and kissed his forehead again. "Always," she whispered against his forehead.

Johnny leaned forward and kissed Kat. "I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

"You didn't drag me," Kat said, barely pulling away. "I chose this," she whispered, kissing him again.
