phinelia von ichvalfirst year - unsorted▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬“In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” – Desiderius Erasmus “The haft of the arrow had been feathered with one of the eagle’s own plumes. We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction.” – Aesop “There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.” – Socrates “If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn’t.” – Lyall Watson ╔══════════════════╗Phi smiled a bit wider, her flush starting to fade as she calmed and her usual recluseness also slowly subsiding. "My Muggle parents are authors, they enjoy making up names and words whenever they have the chance. They even named me Phinelia. Oh - I hadn't introduced myself, but please just call me Phi." She bowed her head slightly, "I also know many famous names from reading. My own owl is named Hermes after the mythological deity." Phi had stopped twirling her hair now, but she became aware she had begun to ramble. A common thing she found herself doing once she finally found herself in a real conversation. "What is she like?" gesturing to the young bird staring up at both of them.╚══════════════════╝

Most people don't realize until they have their own pet. Hermes definitely is a one of a kind owl." She reached out a finger and stroked the owl on her head. Phi loved the feel of feathers. "Well, If we are going for deity names, Isis was an Egyptian goddess of motherhood, magic and life. There was also Eoster, a Germanic goddess that got attached to Easter. Ilmatar is the Finnish goddess of creation..." Phi looked the owl up and down and pondered, "She looks a bit like an Isis. Though I don't quite know..." Phi had names and ideas running through her imaginative head, though instead she reached for her book and opened to a random page, pointing out the first name she noticed on the page. "Minerva?" She blinked at the book and shrugged. it was a method always worth giving a chance.╚══════════════════╝

"It is your owl, you have the final choice. I very much like Qetesh though. Egyptian mythology has always interested me." Phi wondered, mostly hopped, whether there was a Mythology class at Hogwarts. Or whether there was even different branched for both Muggle and Wizard myths. Phi had in fact purchased a book in Diagon Alley about Wizard myths that had sucked her in completely for about two days. It had been terribly interesting.
She smiled to herself, her eyes sparking slightly with her thoughts, and stroked the owl again, wondering where Hermes was.╚══════════════════╝

Preston felt odd, to say the least. The source of his trouble? The shinny prefect badge pinned onto the pocket of his black school robes. The blasted thing had given him nothing but annoyance and grief. His proud mother was more doting than usual before he left for school, and he was roughly dragged away from his train cabin to join his fellow prefects—not being particular close to any of them made the ride ever so awkward for him. 'I'm going to get ostracized from my fellow pranksters...' He thought sadly as he pulled his house tie around his collar. The brunette sighed softly to himself, and then clumsily knotted his tie. After four tries, he got to where it looked proper. 'Hm, I've improved. It used to take seven tries...' He noted, lips pulling up slightly into a small, amused smile. Pres ran a hand through his long hair, and then neatly pulled it into a low ponytail. He pushed the cabin door open violently, scaring a first that walked by. After murmuring an apology, he shuffled along the aisles towards the nearest exit. The Gryffindor found one, and then jumped down, landing on the pavement with ease. With his 5'11 height, the distance hadn't been that far. For a while, he just stood where he was, watching the buzz of the platform. Students and their pets. The chatter of first years forming friendships. Old mates greeting one another. His blue gaze swept around catching this. 'I don't see Tammy or Lu...' He thought, the only two people he considered friends. Being a social drifter, he knew a lot of people, made a lot of acquaintances, but not friends. After last swept he gave up. Preston sauntered to the platform, passing through the crowd with its small groups. He walked over to the path thar led to the carriages, going inside the first one he saw. His gaze immediately flitted to the pale blonde sitting down. After catching that familiar face, he grinned cheerfully. The boy took the bench across from her, sitting sideways so his long legs could take up the entire thing. Though he had only grown an inch, he was still tall. And those long limbs of his were no longer gangly or awkward. The Summer had been kind enough to let his limbs fill out. Well, that and his job. Lifting crates did create some muscle... Smiling coyly, the Gryffindor loudly exclaimed in an airy tone. "Huh? What's thes? Th' first carriage Ah try an' it seems aam unlucky enaw tae end up in th' sam a body as Bonks." He ran a hand through his hair, and then heaved a sigh for dramatic effect. When her pale gaze flitted up to meet his, he stuck out his tongue childishly. "Nice tae see ye again, sweit. Ah see 'at yoo've changed ye coloored hair again." Preston commented. He moved one of his legs so it was bent up, and then rested an elbow on it casually. "So, hoo hae ye bin?" He inquired, giving her his trademark charming smile.F i f t h ||| Y e a r [[ Accent Translation: 1. "Huh? What's this? "So, how have you been?"]]
