I was so enraptured in the details of the battlefield that I didn't even notice Lucius until he spoke to me directly. His proximity was a bit alarming, but I let it go.
"I wouldn't know," I told him honestly. "I've been in this room pretty much all day. Spent most of it training my pokemon until these two showed up. Only stuck around for the battle. Maker's brea-"
That last part was ended quickly by Sandstorm-induced coughing. Sub, please, watch where you aim that stuff.

"Tyrannitar. Ok, we can work with this," Night said softly, mostly to herself than anything as she watched her Chandelure take the Stone Edge attack with a slight flinch, knowing that attack likely hurt like hell for the fiery ghost. Though the flinch slowly turned into a grin as Omen's Flame Body burned Sub's Tyrannitar.
"We've got it burned, Omen. Now let's try to end this quickly. Energy Ball."
Omen's flames began to glow brightly as it drew in the energy needed to perform the attack. Once gathered, a bright ball of green-glowing energy would fling itself from the ghost.

"I don't think so my dear, Protect Monstressor." Sub ordered. The Tyranitar would let out a roar as a green bubble of energy surrounded it, protecting it from the Energy Ball. The idea was since the Chandelure has taken a powered up Payback and a Stone Edge, both from Pokemon of the same type as the moves, and both super effective to the Ghost, perhaps if they stalled just a little that sandstorm would take it down, it couldn't have much fight left at all.

"Just hold out a little longer, Omen," Night said, shielding her eyes against the sand flying about the room. Glancing at the slight burn Monstressor had suffered, Night closed her eyes and smiled softly, "Facade, Omen. Inflict as much damage on that thing as possible before this sandstorm takes you out."
Night watched as Omen rushed into attack just moments before the damage from the sandstorm finally sent it falling to the ground. Like all the others, he would, too, be recalled to his ball before hitting the ground, "And another round goes to Pinky."

"Sounds like a good idea," I told him. "I could use another perspective."
As for the battle, Night had three to go. Sub had a bit more than that. Night would have to pull something either special or tricky to catch up now.

Lucius coughs "well at lest there getting their anger out of their system a Pokemon battle is always a good way to vent pent up frustration." Lucius adds "i kinda figured it would come to this." Lucius continues focusing n the battle shielding his eyes from the sandstorm.

Monstressor just stood there, taking the Facade attack and barely budging as he did. "Did you forget how Facade works? The user has to have a status problem to increase that attacks power, otherwise such a weak Normal attack coming from a Ghost won't even scratch Monstressor, try again." Sub said, taunting Night.

Kairi didn't say anything, and she could barely see through all the tears. She brought up her hands, trying to wipe the tears away. No matter how hard she tried, the tears that were wiped away were replaced with twice as many. Her body shook, but, she was starting to calm down thanks to Reno's holding her so close. Hearing his words, realizing that he was right, Kairi looked up at him, her eyes locking with his, and she smiled. It came easily to her now. Smiling up at Reno was the easiest thing to do, and Kairi didn't know why she didn't do it more often. It felt... nice. And for the first time in her life, Kairi felt like she was home. The saying goes 'Home is where the heart is.' and Kairi discovered now that that saying was true, because she felt at home next to Reno. Despite the tears, Kairi was able to smile, and she leaned up and kissed Reno again, reaching her arms up to wrap around behind his neck. This was all she knew she could do right now without sending herself into a panic, but, it felt nice enough to her.
Dante looked over to Leslie again and just blinked and stared at her for a moment, but, he followed her. He wasn't really sure what to say as to what Leslie had said, but, he figured she was probably right. The blue-haired male did not know who Sub was of course, but, he figured he would know soon enough. Having nothing else to say, he decided that there was something he wanted to ask. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you end up at a place like this Leslie?" he asked.

Night would have to pull something either special or tricky to catch up now. "I'd be glad to battle you any time if you want to train." Odd offered. "If you wouldn't mind holding back a bit, I want to start training Narcissa to battle. She's plenty old enough." Lykas offered as well. "Wait, what? She's still a baby. It's not safe for her to battle yet." Odd countered, looking shocked that Odd would even consider such a thing. "Odd, she's nearly a year old. It's time she starts learning to battle. We really need to consider whose team she'll join, too. She can't keep going without a Pokeball." Lykas shot back, giving Odd a cold stare. The white-haired teen hung his head in defeat. Lykas was right. "We can talk about it later. For now, let's just enjoy watching these two have at it." He decided, turning his attention back to the battle.

"Oh yeah, oops," Night said, seemingly not letting that little mistake faze her as she pulled free another ball, "Ah well. Mistakes were meant to be learned from, right?"
Releasing her Charizard, Night gave a small shrug, "Let's just continue this, shall we? Tatsu, confuse the hell out of that Tyranitar. Dynamicpunch."
Without a sound made, Tatsu flew towards the larger pokemon, one arm used to block the raging sandstorm while the other curled into a tight fist before aiming the attack straight for Monstressor's head.

"Well, true, that is a rather optimistic way to look at it..." Sub said with a shrug, it would seem the tension between the two was progressively lessening as the battle went on, maybe this was just what they needed. "Monstressor! Thunder Fang!" Montressor was big and heavy, as such he couldn't move quick, as such he took the full force of the Dynamicpunch, slugged in the face by the Charizard. However, right after the first connected, Monstressor would clamp down on the dragon's fist, releasing an electrical current into the monster.
Unfortunately, it wasn't all good news as the hit was too much for the Tyranitar as its previous burn did it in, the beast releasing Tatsu as it hit the ground with a thud. "You did good, Monstressor, return." Sub said as he recalled his Pokemon. "Looks like we are somewhat even, both down three Pokemon, why don't we fix that? Let's take this battle to the sky, Pallas!" With that the trainer tossed out another Dusk Ball, releasing Pallas, the Mandibuzz.
The vulture Pokemon was unaffected by the blowing sandstorm, thanks to its Overcoat ability, Tatsu wasn't as fortunate. "Flatter!" Pallas would fly over to Tatsu, using a talon to lightly squeeze the dragon's arm, as if impressed by its muscles.

"It has been a while, hasn't it?" I asked, having not battled Odd since Striation. He didn't even take me seriously in that fight. But then, I was just starting out back then...
That's when I had the idea to arrange another double battle. I just needed one more person. Maybe Hawk. I haven't seen him in a good long while. Or Dan, if Hawk's unwilling.
Putting those thoughts aside, I continued to study the battle. Night and Sub were loosening up some. That was good. Fighting angry meant fighting blind. Too many disadvantages.
Although it happens...

"Pretty even battle, wouldn't you say, V?" Night asked, giving the boy a wink as she watched his Tyranitar fall almost immediately after inflicting what pain he could upon Tatsu with his final Thunderpunch.
"Geez, what is with you and confusing my pokemon?" Night called out to Sub when his Mandibuzz used its super-effective flattery on her Charizard. The over-grown lizard was such a big head over stuff like that it made him far too easy a target.
"Tatsu, get over yourself and attack that bird. Ancient Power."
Tatsu shook his head and glanced back towards his trainer. Did she really want him to attack something that had just paid him, in his mind, the greatest of compliments?
Looking from Pallas then back to Night, Tatsu flew back a ways and summoned several jagged rocks from the ground, hoping to hit the bird. However, in his confusion.....the attack may not have hit.
(As usual. Odd, attack is successful. Even, attack hits Tatsu)
