Just because you can't link directly to the sith himself, Asura will be making an appearance to give you a chance to sniff up a trail.

Asura the hutt, one of nakara's forms.
Although, every ship has a set of three nodes. Even if you don't win, you can always take those things apart. They are made with parts found only on iskalloni, which would be more than enough to start snooping.

...No one has even heard of iskalloni. And how would I even know to look inside the nodes? Wouldnt they be removed when the Race is over?

Droids are unreliable, and the nodes are doing more than just sitting there giving you data. Your droid might be able to pick up that they are also transmitting large quantities of data to an unidentified source.
*shrug*
If that doesn't help, after this Nakara's going to try to steal the great holocron, so sooner or later you're going to be giving a scent to follow.

Skuld needs an ally that isn't trying to directly undermine her every effort. She's the only real 'bad person' on the field out there.
Nakara's just both ally and enemy to everyone, and nobody else is notable.

I'm reading the RP to catch up right now. I will say that the character I'm working on is one that kinda throws away the book on how wars are fought in Star Wars. Expect WMD...
What sort of NBC protection would Republic Soldiers have?

And it depends upon the battlefield. Given the tech level I'd say they would have acess to some pretty sophisticated stuff.
