"Oh I don't know much about fate, my dear, but as coincidence would have it, I'm quite fond of the idea of being a father." He chuckled softly and put a paw through his hair absently. He patted Baniri's shoulder with the other and pulled her a little closer. "And you're not such a bad choice as far as women go." He laughed at his joke, jiggling the sleeping infant on his chest, causing her to stir slightly. The baby opened one eye and yawned, squeaking and whining softly as she moved between her parents to join her sister.

Lilith Siran Deldra rests her head on the table across from Askala, using her own paws as a pillow. "What are you thinking about Askala?" Her voice is soft and curious. "Ah, but what am I ever thinking about? The fate of these frail and simple mortals that surround us! They bumble about with so little guidance. Why do so few seek out the deities that would offer solace and direction?" Askala sighed, lost in deeper thoughts she was not yet ready to reveal. She gazed at this angelic, this one that was so full of love for all things. Askala simply could not accept it. Surely this angelic had felt anger or disgust for some creature here. Certainly there was something beyond the purity she displayed. Askala knew little of angelics. Perhaps this was the nature of all? Her dark eyes settled on the table in front of her as she mused upon these things.

Little angel go away, come again another day... "Askala, I am not the pure little angelic. I have tasted the awful feeling of jealousy. You know what I envy, more than anything? I envy these mortals of the ease at which they find love. They all have each other. Us? We must wait for a deity to find us worthy of their love. We must find us worthy of leave us to wait in the wings for love from another angelic, never to know what it is to feel the love of a god. These mortals know nothing of what it is to have to search for arms to surround you. That is what I envy." Now the alcohol was thick in her system, she was letting loose as she hardly did. Tears rolled down her face, frustration turned liquid. A flaw rarely seen on the face of an angelic.
The devil has my ear today, I'll never hear a word you say...

Askala chuckled darkly, understanding all too well the depth of loneliness the road of hoping to be an Angelique offered. "But dear Deldra, we are blessed! We are free to find anyone to be ours, from the lowliest mortal to the deities themselves! Our kinds alone are worthy of a deity's love. Should not that require the sacrifice of loneliness and despair?" She poured herself more wine and drank deeply, allowing the liquid to warm her. "Living for us is sacrifice. We are resigned to loneliness and false hopes as we seek out a deity to find us worthy, or we sacrifice our chance to ever be an Angelique should we take a mortal lover." She frowned deeply as these thoughts came to her and spilled from her mouth. She hadn't considered her own existence before, or thought about the void that had opened in her heart. She sighed, drinking more and watched as her vision blurred.

Draelde strode through the forest, the aquamarines circling his ankle making slight jingling as he steps. He smiled the air was thick with magic this night. The full moon shone brightly above the trees but they squelched it, the darkness blotting it out before it could reach the forest floor despite their lack of leaves. The leaves were long dead, and littered the ground at his feet, the scent of decay hung thick in the air, he liked it this way. The cool winter winds blew, it was not as cold here as some places, but the snow where the trees were less dense was crisp and pristine. Something was different this night, the forest creatures were all missing. The forest was silent as death. The trees even seemed to be holding their breath. Drealde looked around wondering what this night had in store for him.

She willed the forest into silence as she walked. Ahead of her birds and small animals fled, visions in their minds of predators scaring them into a frenzy. Kalrana wished for solitude as she traversed the frozen forest. The snow and dead leaves crunched beneath her soft footfalls as she gazed up at the ever-constant moon in her sweetest glory. How Kalrana envied the moon, to be so loved by all and to have her glory sung about far and wide. The moon, in turn, was free to shower the world with her loving light and smiling face. Kalrana couldn't help but think that perhaps she and the moon were similar in a way, for the moon must be very lonely in the sky alone, her consort the sun always a day away. She sighed to herself, pausing in a small glade. She let her thoughts wander here, for she knew she was alone and free to feel and think what she wished. No living creature was near, of that she was certain. She fell to her knees in the snow, ignoring the cold, and allowed herself to weep.

Draelde's ears perked up, had he heard something? He had, of this he was certain. He turned quietly in the darkness and in a small glade there was a woman weeping. Who could it be? He used his powers to will his silent movement as he approached. He could hear her sad sounds, so familiar. Why would a woman's weeping be so familiar to him? He edged around, staying in his darkness to try to see her face. As she came into view his heart fell from his chest. It was not possible. Kalrana was in his woods. The woman he'd loved so dearly for so long and been forced never to see again was so close he could smell the soft sweet smell of her perfume. It was her, he stood as silently as he could, watching, not believing his eyes.

She started, sensing someone near. How had she missed this person's approach? Suddenly enraged she rose and turned towards the presence she'd felt, ready to destroy whoever had disturbed her solitude. Her blank eyes fell upon the source of her discontent and her heart stopped. She stood, silent and unbelieving. How had this happened? How had she stumbled upon him once more? Was it Fate? All of her practiced movements, measured expressions, and trained charm could not prepare her for this sighting. She merely stood, much unlike the collected and seductive Elder that she was. She suddenly felt very small under his gaze. What was she to him now? She who had been torn from him to be elevated to such a status? She who had chosen rank to love? Her heart felt it was breaking to see him and she turned away, unsure what she should do or say.

She'd seen him, but there was something else there. There was a sadness and anger in her eyes. He longed to hold her, to feel her soft touch to hear her voice. Should he? He dropped his magic and was no longer silent. A single tear fell from his eye as he watched her turn away from him. His heart too was breaking. For so long he'd been able to watch from a distance, to see her elevated to such a glorious status, it was what she had always wanted. It pained him to be so far from her but he knew that's how it had to be so that she could become the elder she is today. But it seemed that none of this made her happy. Why? He stepped out into the glade, the moon shone brightly and the snow crunched beneath his feet. He was still not close enough to touch her but he reached a hand out towards her, anything to feel he was getting closer to her. His deep voice was shaky as he managed to speak. "Kal? Kal is that you?" He knew it was yet still the disbelief in his voice was obvious and there was a tiny twinkle of hope and fear in his eyes. How could it come to pass that after all of these years the two would be reunited?

She gasped at the familiar timbre of his voice. Oh if only he could be with her, that she might hear that voice always! She wanted him to speak to her quite suddenly and desperately. She wanted to lie beneath the Moon here in her blessing light and listen to him until the morning and beyond. She longed for his stories and what he might have to tell her. She wanted to take him back to her home and listen to him read her poetry and literature. Oh how she wished his companionship! She turned slowly to face him once more, a few tears still clinging to her smooth face, glittering in the light of the moon. "Draelde... that you haven't forgotten me is a wonder." Her voice was hushed and reverent, as if at any moment the spell would be broken and he would be gone from her.

Draelde's eyes glittered with tears, if this was an illusion he wished it never to end. He walked slowly over to her, he reached out and dried the tears from her face, still so soft and so smooth. She smelled the way he remembered her, so warm and soft and sweet. He left his paw on her cheek, and looking into those flawless eyes. "Kal, my darling, how could I ever forget you. I am never far from you, I have watched you in all of your glorious moments. You are never far from my mind. That you remember me is the wonder."

She folded all four of her wings behind her, making herself small and delicate-looking. She clasped her eyes shut, savoring his touch. Tears continued to pour from her eyes and she gave way to weakness. She fell into his embrace, all sense of propriety seemingly forgotten for the moment. She wanted his warmth, needed this comfort. She'd spent too long lonely and lost. For all of her accomplishments, she could not forget this love. She laughed to herself at the thought. A succubus that loves? What manner of strange creature was she, anyways? It was her kind's way to tempt and lure males to their doom, not to love them. This was suddenly very funny and she pulled away from him, laughing and wiping away the tears cascading down her face. How mad she must appear to him!

He looked at her strangely as she pulled away. A confused and almost hurt look washed over his face. What was happening?
"Kal was it something I said?"
He wasn't sure if she was laughing at him but he could see no other around for her to be laughing at. Sadness filled his eyes, surely she could not be so cold as to have forgotten him..

She shook her hair, her luscious hair bouncing with the movement. She smiled at him, recovering from her laughter. "You did nothing, Draelde." She stroked his face and chuckled to herself softly. "Our situation is simply very funny in its irony, don't you agree?" She sighed happily and folded her arms across her chest casually-a posture she would never assume around her clan members or any other creature in the world. "It's been such a long time. How has life treated you in these years we have been parted?"

He smiled at her touch, oh how he'd longed to feel her touch again. The years had seemed so long and empty without her. He melted into her touch and reached out to stroke her arms. She was so soft and warm beneath his finger tips, how had he gone so long without her touch? He looked into those beautiful eyes, and smiled.
"The years have not been nearly as kind to me as you were. Indeed it is ironic, how a succubus can find such a lowly creature as me to her liking, let alone worthy of her love. Through the years I have lurked, watching all of your proudest and most glorious moments from a distance. When you were crowned elder tears of joy fell from my eyes to see you elevated to the status you have always deserved, and so rightly commanded. Oh darling Kalrana, you do not know how I have thought of you for all of these years, and how I have longed to feel you beneath my fingertips again. I have craved your touch for so long and to believe you are standing before me is nearly impossible. Please, tell me, tell me that I am not dreaming you like I have so many nights before?"
Tears rolled slowly from his eyes. All of his practiced charm and smooth ways were gone. He was bare emotion before her. He could barely believe the woman standing before him was real.
