Cookies and Rivalry (otawara)

".....No...... I was supposed to pay for you...." he said, throwing his napkin at her playfully.

"No, you're going to surprise me later," she grinned, "I'm paying for dinner."  

[otawara]

"I guess I'll surprise you later." he shrugged. "Alrighty, but I'm walking you home then." he said.

"Okay," she smiled, getting up and looking at him.  

[otawara]

"Alrighty..." he got up. "Where do you live?" he asked, escorting her out of the restaurant.

"In the apartment above the bakery," she replied, putting her hands in her pockets.

The air was chilly and the winds were strong. Typical for New York. He looked over at her and offered her his arm.

She blinked, looking at him. She looped her arm through his and leaned against him slightly as she walked.  

[otawara]

"You know, Sarah.... it's been a really long time... I'm glad I got to talk to you again..." Nick said, smiling over to her as they walked.

"It was great," she smiled, "Do you mind helping out tomorrow too?" she asked, "I'll pay you back with another dinner."  

[otawara]

"No need to pay me with another dinner..." Nick said. "And I'll help out tomorrow as well. Well...here we are..." he said, stopping in front of the bakery. "....So erm.... I guess I owe you a surprise. Surprise me; what is it?" he asked.

"You were supposed to give me a surprise!" she replied, poking him.

"Hmm....." he thought for a minute. "Can I give you two?" he asked, winking.

She blinked, "Sure," she smiled. "What's the first?" she asked.

Nick bit his lip and hesitated. He then grabbed both her hands and wrapped his fingers around them softly.
