Kalim snorted and shrugged. "Whatever, don't' expect me to come to your aid if it's a trap."
The beggar walked towards a clearing where they could talk out of ear shot. The begger strengthened and whipped the cloth off.
A young man stood there, his hair was black and ruffus, with bold read streaks, He had the deep colored skin of a southener, with dark brown eyes.
"Are you one who serves the high lord?" he asked.

Masaya was not taken aback by the mans diguise. he merely crossed his arms and watched him narrowly "I am. what have you to say?" he asked his arms folded over his chest. a sniff to clear his sinuses on;y adding to the image of a man of office, annoyed at this moment. he studied the messenger closer.

"I come with a warning," The southerner said. "The news that the Southern Kingdom will attack soon is wrong, they are amidst of advancing on your borders at this moments. They have seen your border guards and they will kill them to the last man." The man adjusted his clothing, it was stolen of chose, being the high lord's spy, the thing that was in his back was a lye, signifying his position as a minstrel. a wandering minstrel, who was welcome in any country.

"How long until they pass the guards?" Masaya asked growwing worried by this change of news. He had heard stories of the actions of the southern armies. even though he did not understand their motivations for moving against the borders it was an open act of war.

"The emperor's army will be at the border in three or maybe two days time." the minstrel said, "It would be advisable that you send one of your men back to pass along the message to the High Lord." The mistral bowed, "Good luck to you and your men General. If you hurry to the border you may be able to hold off the invading forces till Lord Sabyien comes with his armies."

"Just give me a horse if you can spare it and I'll deliver the message myself." The minstrel replied. His clothing was ashlanian, but his appearance was not . However as a wandering minstrel, we would be welcome in the main city.

"We have no spare horses. but I will provide you with the means to aquire one," MAsaya handed the minstrel one of the coinpurses he had hidden on his body. "That will be enough to get a good steed and feed it until you get to the capital.

The minstrel bowed his thanks, "Thank you very much Sir knight." With a wink, he melted silently into forest.
Kalim frowned, if that boy had walked into a trap, it would put them back some days, He knew that the men would want to search for him, if he went missing, or perhaps for his remains. The arrogant Knight allowed himself a brief fantasy, of himself appointed the lead General of Ashland, the next in command to the Highlord. But, his ambition wasn't to become General, he was aiming for much higher.

Masaya turned headng back towards the roadway. he kept walking towards the others where his horse was waiting. he noted the bemused look on Kalim's face and mounted his horse. "The situation has been resolved." he flicked his reigns once to spur his horse into motion. "is there something on your mind Kalim?"

"The time we are wasting" Kalim said, and spurred his horse.
Some hours later, in the late evening of the same day the party of men stopped outside a small village setting up tents in the space reserved for them. Kalim quickly set up his tent and was quickly asleep.
Sabyien coughed, he was now laying in bed, being tended to by the matronly nurse who urged him to take another drink of warmed lemon water. "But Miss Forng, I am not tired nor feeling feverish, I-" The woman gently pushed him back into the pillows, "No buts Sabyien, a goodnight's rest will cure almost anything now sleep, I will be sorely disappointed if-" she didn't get a chance to finish as Draken (formally "Darren") walked into the room. "Sabyien, there is a messenger wanting to see you, he says that he will only speak to you." To Saby's questioning gaze he replied" He has all teh passwords Sabyien." With that, Sabyien sat up and threw on a warm house robe. "Send him in."

Masaya had his tent in place without much trouble. he set inside it with his armor off reading by the light of small candle. it was a collection of letters that sabyien had sent him under the guise of a smitten village girl. it made him smile to himself, reading the words as if they were being spoken to him.
the messanger entered the room toying a bit with his instrument as he did, playing his own procession. he bowed to the others gathered in the resting chamber. "Many fortuitious greetings your highnesses. it is truely an honour to be in your presence." he spoke his voice like silk. far too practiced and measured. he looked to sabyien and Draken with a smile. "Shall i deliver the message, or would you perfer a lullaby?"

Sabyien sat down at the table and menioned to Draken. The half-demon looked aroudn teh room to make sure that al the secert tunnels didn't have any listeners before giveing that the all clear sign.
"Speak your message Minstral." Sabyien said, feeling for a moment slighlty flushed and a bit dizzy.

The minstrel nodded and started to play his instrument as he spoke. having composed the message into a poem accompanied by his playing. he relayed all the information he had before bowing to the men. "that is my tale my lords. but perhap there is another you would like to hear? a private request made by another."
