OOC: Those black spaces may look like voids, but they're really humbucker pickups. With that sort of look, I really think they're Seymour Duncans. Pretty sure that's what Brendon said in a video as well. On my Epiphone Les Paul Custom I'm using Seymour Duncan pickups, but they're double coils, not humbuckers. Most guitars have two areas for pickups, but I've seen as many as three areas. Two near the bridge, and one near the neck. One may also find the neck pickups hollowed out, and only having bridge pickups. You can see this on Dean's latest special edition that was done by the guy that replicated Dime's lightning bolts. It should still be on Musician's Friend, or on deanguitars.com.

OOC: You're telling me! And I play the damned thing! What's unnatural is Michael Angelo Batio's playing speed. If you want a real life Skwisgaar, he'd be the guy. They can talk about Dragonforce for "speed" all day long, but skill for skill and with accuracy? MAB is a the definition of guitar god. At least for speed metal.

Even Fender guitars typically have two single coil pickups. No worries though. Part of being in this guild means you get a heads up on musical know how, so you'll be light years ahead of your friends in terms of musical knowledge. Then you can tell them how such and such bands get their sounds and sound cool about it.
