That'd be nice. I was thinking more along the lines of some sort of event, but that works, too. n.n

Yep, participants would be good. I can't think of anything. I read some ideas from peopl ein the Captain's Guild, but I didn't like any of them.

How about a subforum for the forum games and the random questions? Have the main area about books themselves.

Hmm. That might work.... But I'm still a bit disillusioned by sub-forums. Only maybe one guild that I'm in uses sub-forums effectively, and it's not this one. I'm a bit paranoid that no one even goes into sub-forums to see if anything new has been posted, which would cause the quick and sudden death of all the threads that would be moved. In the main forum, there's more of a chance that they'll be seen.
I've been thinking about making a new sub-forum, but I always argue myself out of it. n.n" I'll think about it for a while, and see if I can come up with some argument to get another sub-forum that I can't counter.

Thats one of the things i hate about Gaia here is the fact that you can't see new posts but then again i see some threads overshadow newer threads as they are more "popular" if you get what i mean. If only they put a new/old marker on them that WORKS.

Mmm, event... that could work! Or fail horribly... How about a subforum for us to talk? We get along well, we readers. Take the Easter Exchange thread, for instance. We chatted that within an inch of it's life. Or, it could be a waste of money/ gold. It's kinda your call, boss. *salutes and walks away, having done absolutely nothing to help the guild*

Yeah most guilds have a forum called "chaterbox" or something like that where people could do that.

I have a specific thread where people can chat about anything they want to their heart's content, but it kinda died more than a year ago. And I don't mind if people start chatting randomly in threads, as long as the creator (if it's not my own thread) doesn't mind. I've never liked the idea of a chatterbox sub-forum; it makes me think that the guild is too uptight for chatting in other places, and I'd like to think I'm fairly relaxed about things like that.
Yeah, the post buttons are kinda useless. But that's just how Gaia is. As is, I don't really see all that many pros to getting a new sub-forum, for whatever purpose. I was kinda debating making the current one into a everythingbutfantasybooktalk sub-forum, but I've grown kinda fond of the title. There's the little loophole that "ramblings" can include anything, though, which I might eventually choose to use. Depends how I feel.

But there could, theoretically, be threads on books. I have a thread on other genres somewhere or other in the guild, and I'd stick that into the sub-forum. I think I'd just prefer to leave the name as is and make it rambly. n.n It fits me, at the very least, if not the guild. I ramble constantly.

I do that, too. Most people ramble when they're tired.

Yeha, I ramble all the time. I start on one topic, another idea occurs to me and I start talking/typing about that, and it just kinda continues until I get bored of typing.

hmm.. how about either a subforum, or just a sticky (pinned) thread for book/series suggestions? That way those of use who don't know what to read next can take a look whats out there, what its about, how good it is, and if it would maybe be to their liking. mrgreen Like.. give them a form they should fill out in the begining post. Like book name or series name, auther, what its about (without giving away too much of what happens obviously) what they would rate it and why. ect ect

Got a thread for book suggestions. It was a sticky at one point, but people didn't use it much. It's gotten more attention since it was changed to a normal thread. Well, when it's on the first page, at least. I'll add more if I can think of anything, but I'm having trouble forming solid thoughts right now.
