She will have henna all around her once I finish coloring and shading her. Not sure if I want to put something into the background behind the henna or not.
Ideas as to what I could put back there? EDIT: Or input as to whether I should put anything behind the henna at all or just leave it white/transparent?

Pretty art so far, everyone heart Good luck! @DD - Henna looks really pretty on Numbers 18 & 19 if the henna is something close to this color. I think a simple skin tone background would work.

Oooh, very nice, yes. I like that combo. Thank you, Mahogany! That will definitely go into consideration when I get around to doing the background.
The other big option I'm considering is just doing straight black henna on a white background, because Habibi's henna is jet black, so it would match. But I will try out both and see which I like better.
More WIPs shortly guys!

I love & hate henna, mostly because it's such a pig to draw but it is so pretty ^_^
Any more thoughts/input on the recent sketch I posted anyone? ^_^ I need to search out some flower refs, I might give Xochi a floral border..

I know what you mean Sayuri XD It takes SOOOO long to draw O_O
And I think your sketch was lovely, nothing I can see that really needs tweaking or anything. Looks great!

@Sayuri - I think the skirt-thing is cute ^_^ It works. If you can find any good refs, I think an orchid would look really nice up in the top right-hand corner with some ferns or whatever extending from it down and across the top (like the way these are set)... Tropical theme, kinda.

Thanks ^_^ I found a native flower, so I'll see how patient I am and try and draw a border lol
I did a rose one once for a commission and I got sooo fed up of drawing petals whee
