my mother died from lung cancer,so i was not shocked that i was told that i had cervical cancer, but what got to me was i happen to be pregnant at the time,well they said i needed to end the pregnancy,but i did not, and after i had the baby they removed my cervix and i got a handsome baby boy out of it,and no more cancer,but i can not have any more children, but i got to keep my life and my sons,so all is well biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

A lady I work with was telling me about her similar story, loretta. I can't imagine having gone through a pregnancy knowing cancer was growing right along with the baby! I'd be so freaked out the whole time. sweatdrop

My grandmother passed away from ovarian cancer two years ago. They only found it while they were prepping her for an experimental surgery (which she and the doctors told us was a totally routine procedure, more common than an apendectomy). They took a blood sample and found cancer markers, they couldn't find the location of it until it was too late. They went along with the surgery, which she survived, but they didn't bother to poke around and look for cancer and she was too weak to have more surgeries to remove the cancer once they figured out where it was. Grandma was a fighter right up until the end and when she did pass it blew us all away because she'd survived so much other stuff in her seventy years.
