SubonicXP "Here I come, sire. Spewpa, Rage Powder." The maid ordered. Spewpa would begin to shake its body vigorously, a fine red powder releasing from its body, wafting towards Glaceon quickly. This particular type of powder, if inhaled, would cause the target to succumb to rage. The affected Pokemon would want nothing more than to destroy the user of the move, to such an extent that even commands by the trainer may be ignored. Pure rage. "Ceon?" "What on...?" The cloud of rage powder came down, Glaceon sneezes a couple of times, followed up with a couple of coughs, but then something overcame it. "Glaceon! Ice Beam!" I shouted. The Glaceon growled a bit. It hunched over. Its ribbon-like tail stood straight up. "Glaceon?" "CEON!!!" Well, an Ice attack was unleashed alright. Except instead of Ice Beam, it was Blizzard instead. It wanted massive damage done. Now.

Once the attack subsided, it would be seen that Spewpa was gone, just a trail of ice left in its place. "Spewpa!" Chimed the Bug Pokemon as it swung from a String Shot attaching its self to the ceiling, throwing its self at Glaceon with Tackle.

Use Shadow Ball!" I shouted. The Glaceon would listen once, at least, forming a dark mass. Unfortunately, it was extremely hasty in firing its attack towards the Spewpa, no telling if it was going to actually hit at this point.

The Spewa would swing backwards after hitting the Glaceon, still connected to its String Shot. The Shadow Ball would wobbly fly into the Bug's side, causing it to spin out. However, its poor aim left just the perfect window of opportunity for what happened next. 'Spewa' would explode into what looked like a Stun Spore, the powder raining down from above. The real bug could be seen crawling down the wall behind Blizzard, it had apparently used its Shed Skin to escape during the attack.

The trap would be sprung and the power would come down. Glaceon suddenly started to feel numb all over, and cringe pretty badly from it. "Stun spore...crap..." My instincts tripped and I quickly looked behind me, the Spewpa was there hanging around. I can't honestly believe this; this bug is making Glaceon look like a joke right now. Worse still, that Stun Spore isn't helping Glaceon's enraged mood right now. It's actually ironic...stuff like this is what I do to MY opponents. Provoke, enrage, force someone screw up and capitalize on it. This maid is after my own heart in a matter of speaking... One thing that I'm starting to realize though...all it has done so far was just cripple, sans one Tackle attack that it had to build up momentum for by playing Tarzan. I don't think it has all that much behind it - so in turn it compensates by misdirection and statuses, which is doing a hell of a job so far. I might have an idea...but that will all depend on if Glaceon is willing to cooperate, or can for that matter. "Glaceon! If you can, I need an Ice Shard out of you!" Glaceon grew more agitated just at the command; but even if it wanted to, it couldn't. That Stun Spore was pretty potent right now. "Or not..."

Truth be told, I am...however, my edge goes out the window whenever I'm in unknown territory. I haven't committed any time in studying the Pokemon here, let alone what they're capable of. So far, I've gotten lucky in my encounters...well...until now that is. The Spewpa came down and clamp down upon the Glaceon. A Bug Bite. It had to be. The Ice type couldn't help but to yelp from the bites upon it. Glaceon isn't going to be able to keep going at this rate. "Glaceon, you have to calm down and listen to me. You're mad from something that the bug did to you. If you want any salvation out of this you're going to have to listen and focus!" The Glaceon looked on up at me, cringing. "Blizzard attack! Aim down!" If Glaceon isn't unable to move with its own feet, it's going to have to move by other means. The Glaceon unleashed the storm down towards the floor and launched itself up, hard and fast. I wasn't any stranger to the more profound tactics; a lesson that the maid was going to find out as the two of them was on a fast collision course with the ceiling.

And so would come to an end this game of cat and mouse. The Blizzard attack would propel them both up towards the ceiling, but with Spewa aimed to smash into it first, which it did. The Scatterdust Pokemon was crushed by the force of the Blizzard powered Glaceon bullet, leaving it a lifeless mound of fur and dust once they both hit the ground. "It would seem that the sire has defeated me." The maid declared as she recalled her Pokemon. "I am now at your call, Lord Blizzard." She said with a bow. "Congratulations on Viscount Blizzard in yet another noble victory...against a servant." The same voice from before spoke through the PA system, a faint chuckle could be heard following the last word. "We hope to see many more battles from our newest Earl in the chateau, Earl Blizzard.""Lord Blizzard." The maid spoke up. "If I may say so, it appears that battles will not be your biggest challenge here. Is there anything I can do for my lord to help?" She asked.

Glaceon was still irritated...and paralyzed for that matter. "It's okay Glaceon, its over. Here, come back now...take a break." I said, recalling the Ice type back to its ball. I gave a relieved sigh then listened in on the P.A. system, rolling my eyes. "Apparently hybrids aren't the only ones looked down upon if that tone was anything to go by." I looked over towards the maid and thought for the moment. "Hmm...I honestly don't know to be honest. Really, I'm here for the battles if anything, but you're right, they're not going to be the problem for me, its getting into them and rising in these ranks established here. I guess for the time being, help me look for someone if not equal, then greater in rank so I can start getting up in the ranks quickly." I said, crossing my arms. "I'm sure someone is dying to rise up the ranks and probably thinks a hybrid like me is a easy score. Before you go, though, I do have one question of you, if you don't mind me asking..." I then asked. "Where did you learn to battle like that? That...was pretty remarkable of you holding out like that."

I've watched them all battle here at the chateau and studied their performances. I've taken the knowledge I gained and used it to advance my own talents. You have humbled and educated me with our battle, Lord Blizzard." The maid explained to Blizzard.

Her voice trailed off as she looked up off into the distance. "You may have guessed but here in Kalos our roles in life are inherited. Entire families grow around a profession. My family is a family of servants, all of us. My family has also passed down the tradition of using Bug Pokemon to assist us in caring for our masters, which is why I use a Spewpa. Actually, it would be more correct to say our masters only allow us to use Bug Pokemon, as they are considered lowly and for peasants." The maid now looked at Blizzard in the face, something she had not done the entire time of talking to him, usually it was something servants just did not do. "I want to use my Pokemon for something more than servitude. I want to travel the world and defeat all other masters of the Bug type and prove that the traditions and skills passed down to me can be used for more than housekeeping, that they are not worthless. I want to be like a Metapod and hatch from my cocoon into a beautiful Butterfree. Show them all..." She smiled, this time while looking at Blizzard. "Oh and...Lord Blizzard? Forgive me but, if you would like to, you may call me Lavern.." She said, now looking downward again.

"Excuse me when I say that such thinking is pathetic. Riddled with those with superiority complexes. Inherited roles? Seriously? I'm sorry...I live in a more liberal civilization than this and it makes me cringe a bit when I see those who's hands are forced just because of someone makes the bigger paycheck. It doesn't really help the rich stereotype at all in my opinion." I gave a hard sigh. I wasn't the only one who was having the hardest of times. I saw her look back down, not facing me. I'm not sure if it was because she was trained that way or what, but all I did was gave a light nudge on her chin to put her head back up. "Lavern, was it? You hold your head up for me. Do not look away. You look forward, and you smile while you do it. You are a person, equal to everyone. Don't let anyone tell you different. You want to spread those proverbial wings like a Butterfree? Trust me, there's a Gym Leader in Azelea Town in Jhoto that would probably love to meet you right now; a bug gym leader...got a pretty wicked Scyther no less. He'd pretty much wholeheartedly disagree and protest against that bugs are the 'lowlest of creatures' as it were." I told her. "You help me get up in the ranks, I'll see to it that you take off. Simple as that. If anyone around here doesn't like it, I have no qualms dealing with them personally." I'm pretty well aware that I might have sewn the seeds of rebellion in this region, at the very least in this very mansion, but honestly? I'm doing what Sub says in the end, regardless. He didn't say that I couldn't shake things up in the process, and if it gets me attention all the faster, then perfect. "One last question...in case things does get hairy, because I'm sure there's that one someone that might make me sweat it a bit in battle, where would I end up going to so I can get my Pokemon tended to and ready for battle again? The nearest Pokemon center is at least a good few miles east from here at last check..."
