The trek to Papillon Falls was not a long one as the pair would soon arrive. Larry would quickly walk to the edge of the falls, looking off into the distance as he stood on the cliff. "I can't see much from here." Larry complained, from this distance La Ruche looked perfectly fine, then again one couldn't make out much detail.

Staring down at the town, Beau would fare much better than what Larry had managed, the one advantage he had as a Spewpa. Sure, it wasn't his old set of Compoundeyes, but they were still extremely sharp. "The heck! They aren't attacking the whole place! They're just moving around where the farms and stuff are. Now, I'm confused." Beau relayed to Larry, monitoring their movements as best as he could. With all he had been taught, all he got was that their attacks were on the aboveground greenery rather than the root vegetables. Hopefully, boy soldier would have some idea what that meant.

"They are pillaging, perhaps even carrying out a scorched earth mission to starve us out." Larry commented as he stared off into the distance in deep thought. "We learned about this before, in fact this isn't the first time La Rouche has been pillaged. We have to do something..." The Pinsir hybrid insisted as he looked around. "Don't they have to cross Rhina River first?" He asked Beau, the wheels turning in his head.

Beau did a quick glance along their pillaging route, lining up their path of destruction with the natural barrier of the river. "Yeah, got it. Lines up just like you said. Unless they decide to take the long route, they have to cross there. One bridge, and us to defend it. Are we sinking it or standing our ground on top?" Beau questioned, turning to his Pinsir friend. This was Larrimore's domain, so he was going to be the one making the call on a plan here

Beau examined the bridge in greater focus, attempting to analyze the wooden structure for any possible ways to easily take care of the pathway. When he discovered a complete lack of obvious weaknesses that Larry could cut through with his pincers, the Scatterbug hybrid glanced over at his friend. "One problem: Nothing we can cut through to collapse the thing. So what's your...Wait, I got it!" Beau ciphered out, eyes jumping to focus in on a batch of berries sitting in the trees. "Okay, grab those berries! I'm finally gonna use some of my dumb flower and nature knowledge for a visible good." Sprinting over before grabbing a massive armload of the berries, Beau took off without another word towards the bridge. As he, and likely Larry, made for their target, the Bug type hybrid began to examine the ground for certain kinds of rock. He needed something for his plan to really work well.

Larry said in a confused tone as he began to pick as many berries as possible. "What are we going to do? Make them chili or something?" He asked in a sarcastic tone as he continued to pile up in his arms as many berries as possible. "And give them rocks as a gift?"

Looking over at Larry with a deadpan stare, Beau was quick to spread the berries across the bridge before grabbing a rock off the ground that he had determined to be the right stone. "Get over here. I need to borrow something." Beau requested, stomping down on the berries to allow some strange fluid to spread. Deciding that his request was going to be answered in the affirmative despite any protests from Larry, Beau grabbed the PInsir hybrid and scraped the stone across one of the pincer horns. A shower of sparks fired from the motion, striking into the fluid and igniting the fluid into a fire. "There. Spelon Berries are flammable when squashed. We burn down the bridge. Now, we can throw yours in and make a massive fire now. Hopefully, it will knock this thing down before anything bad occurs."

Now, we can throw yours in and make a massive fire now. Hopefully, it will knock this thing down before anything bad occurs." "Huh, what do you know..." Larry muttered as he tossed the berries onto the burning berry juices, causing the fire to almost instantly roar into a bigger blaze which had already began to spread along the bridge, threatening to engulf it. From the other side the pack of Furfrou could be seen. They would make it right to the edge of the bridge on the other side before stopping, barking at the flames helplessly, or perhaps they were barking at the two young hybrids on the other side. "Hey! Look! The bridge is burning!" A distant voice could be heard from the other side. "Come on, we can't let them see us." Larry said as he grabbed a hold of Beau and ran into the woods with him. ----- After about five minutes of running and no looking back Larry and Beau would make it back to the top of Papillon Falls where they could see that they had managed to completely burn down the bridge, successfully putting a stop to the pillage of La Ruche. "There was a member of the Royal Guard with those hunters." Larry said plainly as he stared off into the distance, eying the now smoldering bridge. The pillagers had turned back from where they came, deeming it not worth their while to find another way around the river. "Like I said, they've pillaged La Ruche before. As for as my instructor knew they just hire thugs to come in and raze the land. Then when we complain they deny having any hand in it. But you saw it, when they realized there was no way around a member of the Royal Guard arrived on that Gogoat and then they left. If only we had proof..." Larry sighed.

Beau would stare down at the burning remains of the bridge, watching as the pack of Furfrou, their trainers, and the man he had seen arrive on the Gogoat all leave the now destroyed entrance into La Ruche. They had a pack of hunters and trackers lead their way, with them able to raid as the Pokemon harried any attempt by them to remove the intruders. They even had the Royal Guard behind them, waiting to chase them off but be too late in order to prevent anything from being stolen. Pulling down the muffler that was now part of his body, Beau said, "Proof wouldn't matter. Its the word of a bunch of reprobates and lepers against an official Royal Guard. He could say he was tracking them through the forest, he could say the Furfrou got loose and his friends were trying to catch them. Hell, he could say we were the ones who were gonna let them in the second we find any proof or testify."
Continuing to stare down at the forest entrance in disgust, a sneeze would rip through Beau and send a cloud of Powder in front of the Scatterbug hybrid. Staring at the dark cloud, he found himself beginning to get fired up. "No. We don't start with this little stuff. We do like we did at the bridge. Burn them out and keep them from ever attempting things that way again. Big show of force that sends them packing and leaves us in peace. Who needs to be under the yoke of some bigoted royal anyways?" Giving a small growl, Beau would strike the piece of flint against another rock and ignite the cloud of Powder to cause a small explosion over the waterfall.

Larry jumped only a little when the explosion went off, he too had been pumped up as he listened to Beau's speech. "You're right." He almost growled as he stared hard at La Ruche. "But we'll have to get stronger, much stronger. I have the academy to make a warrior out of me, but we need to get you trained as well. What do you say, meet here every night after moon rise so I can teach you what I learned? I got to warn you, I'll be a hard teacher." He smiled his toothy and yet (to humans) creepy smile. "Pinky swear?" The young hybrid said as he held out his right pinky.

Beau would stare hard at Larry before giving a smirk and nodding at the Pinsir hybrid. "That's what I like to hear. And considering what I'm doing otherwise, a little hard training might liven up my day. So let's see what we can do." He announced, locking his pinky with Larry's in the gesture of faith and bonding. Him and Larry, they were going places and there was no way that anything could stop them.

Him and Larry, they were going places and there was no way that anything could stop them. "You ready for this?" Larrimore asked Beauregard. The two hybrids stood on top of Papillon Falls, their meeting place for the last six years. It was here they trained every night for the past six years. The very ground and trees could tell the story what went down here, a story of blood and tears but alas not one without hope. Today marks exactly six years since they began their training with the lone goal in mind to change not only their own lives, but the lives of their people and everyone else in the region of Kalos. The kingdom will shake and crumble, that was a promise. Larrimore, as he now preferred to call himself, had grown considerably taller, his horns also much longer and far more menacing looking. Instead of a wooden sword he now wielded a battle worn blade which he had stolen from the academy's armory while the graduation ceremony took place. He was suppose to be his classes valedictorian and while he longed for that moment his entire life he could not let the opportunity that was presented to them slip by. It was fitting that today marked six years.

"Am I ready for this? Been waiting on you for the last two years." Beau shot back with at Larry, casually tossing the boomerang in his left hand with a practiced care as he stared down towards the bridge. Well, what remained of it after their little guerrilla remodeling. Now was their chance to take that idea on a grand scale and get them out of the woods. But this spot was also where Beau ahd learned a lot of things. Namely, the fact that he could not swing a sword for his life and had made himself take to a more easily used weapon.
Taking a look at the pack of berries in his satchel and the flint and steel in a pocket on its side, Beau gave an experimental flap of his wings. He was still not used to the fact he had this whole new range of motion even after two years. "So. How long before they realize you aren't at the graduation and I get blamed for 'corrupting' you again?"

How long before they realize you aren't at the graduation and I get blamed for 'corrupting' you again?" "I would wager they already have." Larrimore replied, no hint of humor in his voice though. "I have two Gogoat tied up at Scarabee Rock. We'll take them as far as we can. They can probably take us as far as the Ardennes, at least until it gives way to Mamoswine Road. From what I heard from the scouts Mamoswine Road is unusually calm today and no storms are forecast soon. If we're lucky we can cross into Dendemille Town without getting caught in a blizzard. You did pack some warm clothes, right?" He asked as he slung his pack over his shoulder.
