Princess Zelda21 "That sounds like a good idea. You could borrow the book to study later." Rei answered calmly with a nod. She closed the book in front of her, standing from her spot. From what she could guess, it wasn't quite so late that afternoon according to the sun's position in the sky outside. "All this talk of food is making me hungry." she admitted. Turning on her heels, Rei began walking towards the stairway. She felt around, using the wall for support. When she made it to the top of the stairs, her hand gripped the railing as she began her descent. Rei could hear Saiyoko and Lunet both walking a short distance behind her, though she took her time just in case there were any loose stones. "That's fine, come on Lunet, its time to go" Saiyoko said as she closed her book and followed after Rei with Lunet close behind."This is an interesting tower,it must have been amazing to see while it was still full of people" Saiyoko thought aloud. She and Lunet continued following Rei down the the stairs of the tower.

((Shoot, sorry for not replying in a long time. My fault! ^_^*))
"Well, not many came here to this tower since the end of the war many years before I was around. Very few mages stayed here. Once a great battle took place outside the village which caused the headmaster to vanish shortly afterwards. My mother had nightmares for a long time when it was over. Somehow she didn't quite get along with him for quite some time. This old tower ended up in ruins after the battle, but reconstruction had been rather slow." Rei explained simply as she continued walking down the long stone staircase. Cautiously, she held onto the wall in case she ever fell, making her way to the bottom floor. Letting out a shaky sigh, Rei lead Saiyoko and Lunet out of the tower and into the streets once more. Shade Village hadn't been very lively considering the circumstances. She headed on towards the direction of a nearby restaurant that was outdoors, sitting on the bench in front of the counter. When the owner came by, the lady greeted the two customers. "Hello, please sit and relax. What can I get you this afternoon?" she asked them, giving both Rei and Saiyoko a menu.

It's strange that there is still so much residual magic left here." said Saiyoko as she followed Rei down the stairs. Saiyoko and Lunet followed Rei through the town to the restaurant. Saiyoko sat next to Rei and started to look at the menu. Lunet laid down under a tree near the restaurant and began to take a nap. Saiyoko looked up from her menu so she could order. "I would like one nabeyaki udon please".

Saiyoko looked up from her menu so she could order. "I would like one nabeyaki udon please". The waitress nodded as she took the menus, then returned inside. Rei leaned back in her chair a bit, letting out a tired sigh. She was glad to be out in the fresh air for a while, despite the weather being a bit warm for summer. "I always wondered why most of the people suddenly vanished from here after the village leader's death. Not even grandpa, grandma, or my cousins are around any more. Kinda lonely around this place." Rei admitted, her expression changing to one of slight disappointment as she rested her head in her hands with her arms upon the table. The village was indeed quiet, though most everyone were doing what they could to rebuild most of the houses and other places.

" I know its not my place to ask, but why did you stay when your family left" Saiyoko asked curiously. She then stretched as she waited for her lunch. She then began to rummage through her bag for something. 'hmm how far down is it?' she thought. Saiyoko stuck her upper body in to the bag as she dug deeper in it. "I really should put it in one of the upper compartments next time."she said to herself as she finally found the object she was looking for and began pulling herself out of the bag.

Letting out a tired sigh, Rei only shrugged her shoulders as she listened. "I don't know. I was still an infant when such things occurred. Truth is, I have no memory of what happened to them all." she answered as best she could in a calm voice. While turning her gaze slightly, Rei could hear Saiyoko saying something while rummaging through what she guessed was the bag she carried with her. "What are you looking for?" she asked Saiyoko curiously. Within a few short moments, the waitress had returned with the food, placing them before each of the young ladies. "Here you are dearies. Enjoy." spoke the lady, giving a slight nod in respect before turning to leave. Rei picked up the fork by her plate, for she could smell the bowl of chicken ramen with a small side of sweet and sour chicken with fried rice in front of her. She dug into the soup and began eating while waiting patiently.

"its a picture of my mother,i like to have it out when I eat, cause its almost like she is eating with me." she said thoughtfully before picking up her fork and taking a bite of her undon. When she swallowed she added, "its not much but its the only way I can honor her"

When she swallowed she added, "its not much but its the only way I can honor her" ((That's alright, life happens!)) Rei paused as she lowered her fork, turning her head in the direction of her friend's voice. She couldn't help but smile a little. "That's really nice. At least you have something to remember what she looked like." Rei replied calmly as she picked up her cup of green tea in her free hand, then drank out of it before putting it down on the table. "What's your father like? I don't believe you've said much about your own family." Rei asked Saiyoko curiously as she picked up the fork and quietly ate while waiting patiently. Truly it wasn't every day she'd discuss such a topic, even among those who were regulars at the tavern.

"hmm, I don't know. I don't really remember much about my family or my past, but when I want to know more about them and my past I generally ask Lunet. She is the one that still remembers that stuff, but there are somethings that she won't tell me,because she says I'm not ready to remember them." replied Saiyoko. She then began to some more of her lunch, while she tried to remember her forgotten past.

This was indeed interesting news to her, though she understood it best not to pry further. "Hmm, I see. Maybe there's a reason Lunet doesn't want you asking such questions so hastily about it. I'm pretty sure she'll let you know when in due time." Rei spoke calmly, finishing what was left of her glass of milk. She placed the empty glass down on the table next to her bowl just as a different waitress came by. "Here's your tab. Bring it to the counter to your left when you're ready to pay." the blonde lady instructed, placing the small piece of paper with their written order on the table. She moved rather cautiously while heading towards a different table. Rei could tell the girl's perfume smelled familiar, yet she sounded as though she were around her age by her voice. 'Hmm, lavender and blackberries. Where have I smelled that before?' she thought curiously. Rei wanted to speak again, but the teenage waitress disappeared and was off tending to other customers for the moment.

"I know. She is always taking care of me and protecting me" Saiyoko said thoughtfully. Saiyoko finished her lunch and put the money for it on the bill. Then She stood up and stretched. 'Hmm I wonder what that sound is' thought Saiyoko as she started to walk away from the restaurant in the direction of the sound. She didn't even realize she had left. "Saiyoko, where are you going" asked Lunet as she got up to follow Saiyoko. but Saiyoko didn't respond it was as if she couldn't hear Lunet.

Rei called as she stood from her seat. Wasting no time, she made sure she had everything before swiftly walking to catch up. It didn't take long before Rei was already beside Saiyoko on her right, keeping at an even pace. For some reason, she too could hear the mysterious sound yet knew not what it was. *Where are you off to?* Rei asked her friend telepathically in question, curious to figure out what her friend was up to. No doubt she knew Lunet was indeed with them. Rei could tell they were moving away from the general direction of where they had been earlier, yet still had much on her mind which she ignored for the moment.

Saiyoko kept following the sound as if in a trance. The sound seems to have a hold on her and she is unble to hear her friends. The sound cause Saiyoko to see shadow of forgotten memories that are to blurred to fully make out. She sees shadow of people running in terror from something, and burning buildings. Saiyoko vaguely hears Rei ask her where she is going but is unable to respond and keeps walking toward the mysterious soud.
((sorry it took so long for me to respond life got hectic))

Without another word, Rei continued following after her companion on out of the restaurant.; It seemed to lead the group somewhere outside the northern border of Shade Village, deep into the forest. No doubt, there weren't as many guards on duty, considering how things had been as of late under the village's current leadership. The young kunoichi quickly caught up to Saiyoko from behind, making sure she kept on guard in case of trouble. "Saiyoko-chan! What do you hear?" Rei tried to get her companion's attention, lightly touching the younger woman on the shoulder. Perhaps there'd be answers in due time, though whatever was going on, it seemed to perplex Rei quite a bit as they traveled together. 'Where could she be headed?' Rei's thoughts were focused on the mystery of the journey, curious as ever.; To her, it felt like an unknown adventure away from someplace she'd known most of her life growing up.
