Selene's eyes widened as she was told who it was. Souretsu.. So definitely one of the twins. It was only a little, but that fact made her relax. The twins.. Neither of them seemed like they would hurt her. Not even Kuroda, for all of her energy and flirting. She sighed quietly, then slowly shifted to lie on her side. "O-oh.." Licking her lips, she swallowed thickly. Her mouth felt.. Dry. She grimaced a little bit, curling up as much as she could. It was like she was trying to make herself seem smaller. One hand loosely gripped her blanket. If it wasn't for what Yennefer had done, she would likely be feeling a lot worse than just tired.. She didn't know that, though she was vaguely surprised that she didn't have the pounding headache she would have expected.
Quite a bit of time passed without any words being spoken. She was tired, but she wanted to stay awake. Once the initial shock of that dream had worn off, and her heart slowed to a more steady beat, she found that more difficult. Her eyes kept drifting closed, only to be opened a few seconds later to peer at Souretsu.. That process repeated quite a lot. Countless times. Her stomach rumbled a little, but there was no pain from that either. Just general discomfort. She was just feeling like she was going to loose the battle with sleep when the demon girl spoke up again. Selene didn't react for several moments, but eventually her eyes cracked open again to look at her with confusion. They were.. Thinking of dropping out? In light of recent events, that alone seemed like a great idea.
She felt a twinge of guilt at the last part of her statement. She didn't particularly like the twins because they were demons, but she knew there were worse ones out there. She had.. Met one last night. She never would have guessed what they were if she hadn't been told. In fact.. Continuing from there, she didn't know why the other girl was telling her this. She slowly sat up again, yawning widely. Her eyes closed as she tried to close her mouth quickly. Yawns are not the most cooperative things. "W-wh-at." Her voice cracked. She raised one hand to lightly cough into it, trying to clear her throat.

Selene hugged her legs a little tighter, tilting her head to hide her face in her knees. She could feel her stomach rumbling. It wasn't too happy to have only water put in it. She really needed to eat, but she didn't feel at all like eating. She squeezed her eyes shut, frowning slightly. At least Souretsu wasn't trying to make her say what happened.. She didn't know what she would do if someone else did that. Val.. Probably would.. Her frown deepened. Even someone who barely knew her noticed something was wrong. Even worse, the demon thought she was more delicate than other humans. It was the truth, but it was a truth that hurt. She apologized quickly, but the damage was done. She sighed quietly, then flinched away at the unexpected touch to her shoulder.

It was quiet for a short time. Souretsu didn't seem like a very talkative person, nor was she as pushy as Kuroda had been before.. It was doing a lot to help her stay calm. It was surprising, but this person was probably the best person for this situation. Despite being a demon. Not even Val.. She sighed quietly, hugging her knees a little tighter. She glanced towards the other girl when she noticed her moving, wondering what she was doing. Getting something out of her backpack.. She blinked, looking slightly confused when she was offered something. It looked like food. Even though she was hungry, she didn't particularly want to eat either. She just fidgeted with the packaging without opening it. "Oh.." Even though she didn't know them well, it didn't surprise her that Souretsu had to look after Kuroda like that. It had been obvious from the start who the more responsible one. But it seemed like the other girl wasn't complaining in a bad way. It sounded more like the kind of complaining one would do about someone they love. She closed her eyes as she yawned, trying to close her mouth as she did.. But that didn't really work out for a second.

The silence between them returned, stretching out for several minutes. Selene still didn't mind it. She was a really quiet person anyway. Perfectly content to just sit in silence.. The presence of another person was comforting enough. Even a demon.. It seemed better than being completely alone. She just continued fidgeting with the snacks she had been given. She really should just eat them, but she didn't really feel like it. Completely lacking an appetite, even though she could feel her stomach quickly rumbling. When the demon suddenly stood up, she blinked and looked towards her. She couldn't help feeling a little nervous at that movement. Even though she didn't think Souretsu would do anything to hurt her. She frowned as the demon said goodbye. So they were really leaving.. She wanted to say something, but before she could begin to stumble over the words, the other female was already gone. She was too slow to speak.
She stared at the door for several minutes after she was left alone. Totally still, until she frowned and looked down. She felt guilty.. She knew that her own attitude towards them was what Souretsu had been referring to. True, it was not uncommon, but that didn't stop those words from having their effect. She didn't wish ill on them.. She really didn't. But demons truly terrified her. Even nice ones scared her. Eventually, she placed the snacks and empty bottle on the bed stand and curled up on her side. One arm wrapped around her pillow, which she buried her face into. She felt awful.. With nothing to distract her, her thoughts were able to go to the worst places. The only good thing was that they did not remain on her mind for long. Soon after she had curled up, her exhaustion caught up with her. She didn't remember falling asleep, but her rest was plagued by nightmares.
When she woke up, it was rather dark. She slowly sat up, wincing as she noticed the soreness in her body, then looked around. There wasn't much that she could make out. Between the lack of light and her extremely blurry vision, all she could see were silhouettes in the slowly brightening air. She was quickly distracted as she felt her stomach gurgling, an audible complaint from it about her hunger this time. It made her grimace before she reached for the snacks. Her right hand lightly brushed over the bed stand until she felt the plastic packaging of the crackers. She curled her fingers around it, picking it up and feeling it for a few moments before she began working to open it. It took her a minute or so to tear it open, as she struggled with the plastic. It was hard to get a good grip to tear it along the seams like she always did, but she got it in the end.
As she held the crackers up to slowly eat them, she slowly looked around the room. Her eyes had adjusted to the dimly lit room. It must be soon after dawn, if the amount of light coming through the windows was anything to go by. Even with her blurry vision, she was able to see that the other bed was unoccupied. Valeria's hair would have stood out against the blankets. She swallowed thickly before softly asking, "V-Val..?" The word almost seemed to linger in the air, a disconcerting feeling if ever there was one. A minute passed without her getting any answer, or even hearing anything other than her own soft breathing. She coughed quietly, then sighed as she realized that she was alone. She hoped that Val was alright.. Focusing a few moments, she realized that the other girl was in the history classroom. Had she been there all night..? She was immediately reminded of the math teacher.. But she hadn't said anything to anyone, so surely that demon wouldn't have hurt her roommate?
As much as she wanted to think otherwise, once that thought was in her mind, she couldn't shake the feeling of something being wrong. She got out of bed, wincing a little bit at the soreness in her body. She had only gotten about halfway through the crackers, but she didn't feel like eating anymore. Her mouth felt too dry, it was hard to swallow. Even though she wanted to see Valeria, with that thought in her mind.. She chose to delay as long as she could instead. Throwing out the remainder of the crackers, she stripped off her borrowed outfit before going to take a shower.. Washing away the sweat, and general dirt, that had accumulated over the past few days with warm water felt heavenly, but she wasn't in much of a mood to enjoy it. Once she was clean, she stayed in to enjoy the water.. Until it began to go cold. She only felt a little better afterwards. Cleaner.
After getting out of the shower, she dried herself off before getting an outfit out of her closet. She always dressed pretty similarly every day. A jacket, shirt.. Shorts. And all in subdued colors. Once she was dressed, she took a minute to brush her hair. She wasn't particularly gentle as she removed the tangles. A few strands of her long hair were ripped on the hairbrush, and some lose strands came away as well. She put away the brush when she was done, then just sat on her bed.. And thought. She wanted to go find Val... But she was afraid to as well. Normally, her friend would be the first person she would go to when she was scared, but now she was scared to find her. All too soon, the decision was made for her when she heard the bell ringing. It was time for class already?! She frowned as she looked up at the ceiling, then stood up.. Just before leaving the room, she grabbed the little cake Souretsu had given her and put that in her pocket.. Then she rushed off.

Selene IntarishaLocation: Room 104 ✲ Company: No one ✲ Items: Pajamas(top & bottoms)╔═══════════════════════════════════════✲═══╗After retrieving her glasses, Selene decided to go to her dorm.. Some part of her was hoping Val would be there, though she knew that wasn't where she was. She still headed down the hallways until she reached their dorm and opened the door. A quick look around before she closed it showed her that she was alone.. Again. Normally she didn't mind being by herself, but it was always scary here at night.. And she didn't like not being with Val here. That helped add to her general sense of.. Unease. Videl was never safe to roam around at night. She walked over to her bed and sat down, sighing heavily as she put the candy on the bedstand. What a horrible thing... With how bad the last couple days were, she was starting to think that she might not be able to get through the whole year. It wasn't even a week in, and there had already been.. Terrible things.
She blinked and straightened when she felt her stomach growling at her. Right, she still hadn't eaten.. Not since 'breakfast', which had only been a few crackers. It was too late to go to the great hall, but she did have some food. Not real food, but.. It would do. She decided to leave the candy alone for now, instead getting the snack cake she had been left with out of her pocket. It was a little crushed and didn't really look all that appetizing, but it was better than nothing. She slowly pulled open the wrapping, struggling a little bit with it. It wasn't so easy for her. But when she had it open, she slowly began to eat it. It was.. Very sugary. Kind of gross, but edible. When she was done, she crumbled the plastic wrapping and leaned over to put it in the trashcan.
She didn't really have much to do now.. Since she hadn't been to class yesterday, she didn't really have homework to occupy herself.. She found herself yawning within a few minutes, and having some trouble keeping her eyes open. She probably should change.. She sighed as she slowly stood up, feeling a little unsteady. She had not yet had a chance to fully unpack, so it was just a matter of finally unpacking her pajamas. They were pretty simple, just a top and pants. She changed quickly, taking only about five minutes. The fabric felt cold against her skin.. It made her shiver a little. But once she was dressed for sleeping, she went back to her bed to curl up. One blanket was dragged up over her form and she rested her head on her pillow, looking towards the door. It was pretty comfortable. Although she would try to keep her eyes open to wait for Val, she would eventually just close her eyes.. To blink, she thought. Only to simply not open them as sleep overtook her.╚═══✲═══════════════════════════════════════╝Condition: Healthy ✲ Mood: Sleepy ✲ Thoughts: I hope Val is okay.. |
