Ravnos’s warmth turned chilly at Cassius’ remarks. Although he supposed he could not blame him. He didn’t even look at Emppu. “I would think you should remind your mate that snickering in these types of situations is inappropriate. Especially concerning your father and myself. I’m old but I’m not deaf.” Green eyes narrowed at him as he thought. “I was going to congratulate you on being accepted into the clan. You kept yourself from hitting Zapathasura in light of what he put you through. And I am sorry for what he did, I did not know he would go that far. But he has been dealt with.” He took a drag from his cigar. “You showed great restraint even though another potential clan mate was hurting you. Zapathasura has no loyalty he has shown me that, he could have never done what you did. The clan and your clan mates are everything. There is a reason why the Prince prefers we move on from her city as soon as we arrive.” The Disciple sighed. “However if you find me so….what’s the word…” Ravnos snapped his fingers a couple times. “Inable to look past certain details and see what you did do then perhaps my clan is not for you. I will leave it up to you but I do say this with all honesty we would be lesser for the loss of you.”

((Grendel)) The God, still smiling at Apollo, shrugged his shoulders. "I just thought maybe you'd be too busy. Your domain being so difficult to manage and all." He joked, taking another sip of his own drink before responding again. "I can't expect everyone to get along, but they could at least wait until after dinner." He then turned his attention back to his son, who he could see was clearly very uncomfortable and stressed out. "....Maybe you should just...have a drink. Or several. Keep my good friend Apollo entertained here for a few moments while I make my rounds." He said, before awkwardly reaching out and patting his son on the head. To Leliel he turned his attention back to next, and he could tell that she was near, though not quite, as nervous to be there as his son. Grendel supposed that he could not blame her. "Thank you." His voice rumbled. "As I said, I am happy you have all come. Please, feel free to mingle and get to know everyone else as you see fit. We're all family here, after all." Suddenly his ear twitched, and his head turned, gaze honing in on where Ravnos had cornered Cassius and Emppu. "If you'll excuse me," He frowned, lips pursing, as he moved along around the table and off towards his Disciple. --------- ((Frenzy)) Frenzy might have actually hidden under the table if it hadn't been for his mate's hand on his shoulder, keeping him grounded. He still couldn't quite believe what was happening or had just happened, as it were. His father had not stuck with them for long and seemed to have other matters to attend to (Frenzy turned and watched him walk towards one of the guys that had seemed to be squabbling with someone else earlier). He let out a long sigh of relief once he was gone, and grabbed the cup of wine that was in front of him, nearly sloshing it out over his hand. Raising it to his lips, he downed it all in a few gulps. And as he set it down he watched as it magically filled back up again. Huh. Neat? ----------------------- ((Cassius)) Cassius knew he was being an a**. He knew but was having trouble caring. What he had said to Ravnos just now he would have never said in a million years, before, when he was trying so hard to earn the Disciple's respect. But now? Well, now it didn't really seem to matter, so why should he bother? Just because the guy was ancient and could probably pulverize him on the spot? Ya, sure. That would be the perfect end to the perfect month. So when Ravnos retaliated by telling him to reign in his mate, his jaw set. That was to be expected, of course, though he had also expected some reprimanding or his own words, which never came. Instead, he was....wait, what? Congratulating him? Cassius' pink gaze shot up, surprised and confused. For some reason, he was having trouble processing everything that Ravnos was saying, but he was managing to get the gist of it. "I...Wait, hold on a second." He needed to process for a moment, the words running through his brain again. Realization dawned quickly this time. They were in! At least, it seemed like they were. Finally, he turned towards Emppu, looking at him expectantly. "So, are you still good with this?" He wouldn't do it without him. He had known that from the start. -------------- ((Grendel Again)) Grendel approached silently, an arm slipping around Ravnos's waist as he watched his son, who looked like he was having some great mental difficulty. He leaned over and kissed the Disciple on the cheek, before taking a long drink of his wine, still watching. "Maybe I accidentally broke his mind when I was trying to fix it?" He said, conversationally, finding it all a little alarming. Cassius somehow hadn't even yet noticed the God's arrival and had just turned towards his mate to ask him a question. "Did I really hear him ask if we are 'banging?'" He said next, taking another sip.

Emppu stays silent as Ravnos continues speaking, glancing at Grendel slightly at his approach before turning his attention back to Cassius and shrugging. "I want whatever it is that you want, Cassius. If you still want to join the clan and I am still allowed to follow, then we join. If you don't wish to join, then I am with you either way."

Ravnos’s demeanor seemed to soften as Grendel approach, the kiss on the cheek was a surprise. Although he supposed that the God could not tell he was conducting business. “Nmmm you sure it wasn’t that way before? I wonder where he gets that from.” A smirk came to his lip spreading them just slightly allowing fangs to peek out. His gaze returned to the two in front of them. “Yes for some reason it seems to be going around.” Ravnos squinted at Grendel. Suspecting he might be going around spreading gossip about them. Not that he minded. But the. Again with his arm around his waste and the kiss on the cheek it was hard to deny that they were together. “Besides we are wnyway.” Raising an eyebrow he cleared his throat. “Well? What will it be then? The offer does expire eventually.” He already knew what the answer was. Cassius and Emppu would join his clan. Adding to the ranks and strengthening it.

Cassius indeed was not paying attention to the fact that Grendel had arrived. He was too focused on his mate and on what his answer would be, though he had a feeling he already knew. Emppu would do what Cassius wanted, and it had always been that way. Wherever one went, the other would follow. For Grendel's son, it was an easy decision to make, and he grinned wide, leaning forward to give his mate an excited kiss on the cheek before he turned back to Ravnos and Grendel. Wait. When had Grendel gotten here?? His wide grin slipped as he stared. For the first time in his unlife he actually faced the God who had fathered him but had not raised him. He somehow always knew, or at the very least believed, that Grendel had always watched over him in some way, though, which made this reunion easier. He smiled again, though it was a polite smile, and he gave his head a nod of respect, though only moments before, with Ravnos, he had been acting very disrespectful, and now fervently regretted it. He turned to the Disciple in question. "Yes, we would still like to join the clan." Inwardly he was so ecstatic he thought he could burst, but outwardly he put on a pretty good show of calmly accepting Ravnos's offer. ------- "...His mother, probably. I've met her other child." He said, giving Ravnos a sidelong glance that said volumes about what he thought of his insinuation. Like the Disciple, he too watched Cassius and Emppu to await their decision, though he knew he needed to continue to make his rounds and was only stopping for a moment to see how things were going. "Sounds so impersonal though." He said of the term 'banging', his nose wrinkling a little, but when he noticed the squint directed his way from Ravnos he let out a short laugh. "I am sure it has nothing to do with us inviting them all here, arriving together, or calling this our home." He let his arm slip out from around the Disciple when Cassius finally turned towards them, and he met his son's gaze with his own, returning to the nod with a smile, and was pleased to hear that they would be joining Ravnos's clan after all.

Emppu smiles a bit at Cassius' excitement, leaning into the kiss on his cheek before turning his attention back to Ravnos and Grendel, eventually dipping his head in what was, for him anyway, a respectful bow to the pair of them. Perhaps it would be best for the rest of the night if he just stayed silent and only answered when spoken to directly...? He had been reprimanded, after all, for his snickering earlier.

Ravnos ignored the looks and comment about Cryso and Zapathasura. He was not here to think about them. He wasn’t going to let him forget what happened, that’s fine. “It’s this younger generation they don’t know how to create or use words that aren’t impersonal sounding.” He shook his head with a sigh THE disciples shoulders rose and fell with a light shrug. There was disappointment in his green eyes when the God pulled his arm away. He shot the god with a thought. ’Leaving already?’Turning his attention back to Cassius Ravnos smiled clasping his hands together with a large smile on his lips. Fangs very obvious. “Perfect. Then welcome to Clan Ravnos my fledglings.”

Grendel might have had one foot out the door on the conversation at hand if not for Ravnos's voice slipping through his mind. He looked at him, trying to discern if the Disciple wanted (or perhaps even needed) him to stay. Or maybe Grendel was being too hasty in his departure and did not realize it. He did not want to be rude... He was probably overthinking things. In a moment. I have a matter I need to discuss with Christabella. Though he could hear her chattering away with all guests within her reach from here, and knew that what he needed to speak with her about was not a pressing issue and could wait. Out loud he said, "Ah, how excellent. I am glad to see at least one of my children has taken some initiative and has decided to join a clan. Well done." See, he could be nice, and supportive. Anything was possible when you were drinking wine and blood that was heavily laced with ambrosia. He took another long sip of his drink. He turned to Emppu next. "I see you managed to look after him after I left you the other night. He has made a wise choice of partner. Thank you." He gave the bright-haired vampire a nod of his head and then turned to Ravnos. "...And now I am going." He grinned, and taking another sip of his drink, wandered off.

Fledglings?? Nobody had told Cassius that, when he joined a clan, he would be relegated to the very bottom of the pecking order. But still...The bottom of the pecking order in a clan was better than being a clanless vampire, so did he really have any room to debate or complain? And so, he plastered on a happy smile and gave Ravnos a nod. "Happy to be a part of the clan." When Grendel...sorry, his actual God of a father...spoke, Cassius was actually almost taken aback. He was far more jovial than he had ever expected. Not that he thought that was a bad thing just...different? And how was he meant to respond? This was the very first time his father had spoken to him in his life and he seemed proud. Of course, getting the approval of his father was amazing, and could he have shot a pointed look towards Thorne at this moment and not been noticed doing it...he definitely would have. As it was, he puffed out his chest a bit with pride at the recognition he was receiving. "Of course. It's always been my goal. I'm just glad we didn't mess it up." Was this the best day ever? This was definitely the best day ever. When his father spoke to Emppu next Cassius, somehow, felt even more pride then he had before, and managed to stand just a little bit taller. All this praise for himself and his mate was definitely going to his head.

Emppu honestly didn't care what rank they were assigned upon being accepted into the clan, just so long as they were together. When Grendel turned his attention to him and spoke, Emppu smiles and nods in return. He then glances over at Cassius and gives a fangy grin at his mate.

The Disciple always needed him but that could wait til later Ravnos squinted at the cup. What exactly was in there. Grendel seemed to be chugging it down rather quickly. The God was also in a rather delightful mood. More than usual. And then he announced how proud he was that one of his kids joined a clan. Cause that wouldn’t twist a few undergarments amongst the kids. “Yes I’m sue Thorne could use a talking to.” Wherever the red haired vampire had run off to. He did a sweep of the room but could not spot him. But his attention soon turned back to the two new fledglings. A smile on his lips. “Now, down to business. Seek out Lillian. She will guide you for a time.” He would need to stop in and visit her sometime soon. It had been ages and so much had changed. Plus he missed their banter. Maybe he would make a trip of it himself sometime soon. He owed her some cigars anyhow.

It was indeed as if the little ghost were trying to win some kind of contest with how she stared at Lilith, red eyes never once blinking or faltering in their gaze. When Lilith smiled nothing changed, save for the ghost slooowwwly leaning forward from its place beneath the chair, eyes still locked on the great-grandmother that she had never met before. When Lilith covered her eyes, the ghost took it as a great victory and sat back again, satisfied with her win. When she uncovered them again and mouthed the word 'boo' she might have heard a muffled giggle come from somewhere beneath the sheet, and a tail may have lashed out happily from behind before curling back in and under, but that was followed quickly by a little gasp when Lilith began to phase out, her body disappearing so that Gremlin was left staring at nothing but empty space and a glass of wine. She slowly crawled forward, out from beneath the chair, head darting this way and that as she fully expected Lilith to just reappear at any moment and snatch her up, perhaps winning whatever new game they were playing now. There was a sound. Perhaps Gremlin only heard it because she was on such high alert, but she whirled towards the sound, sheet fluttering out around her before it settled again. Her gaze found Lilith in the hallway. It was difficult for a sheet ghost to react with emotion, but this one crouched down low to the floor, like a kitten ready to pounce. It watched Lilith for a short moment, to see if she would disappear again, but when she didn't, the little ghost launched herself in that direction, little feet scampering and scurrying across the hard stone floor at a speed that was actually quite commendable. The little ghost was just a blur of white that flew across the room, with one goal in mind. Catch Lilith.

Lilith watched Gremlin with a soft smile. For as tiny and sweet as she was there lurked in her such a predator. She admired the balanced duality. A natural predator didn't need to boast of its skill. It simply did as nature required of it and remained unburdened. As the little ghost skittered across the floor on silent paws Lilith began to walk backwards, after a few steps her body disappeared again. Melting into the shadows of the hallway only to reappear a little further along. Just far enough away to keep her distance.
She smiled at Gremlin, waiting to see what she did next. It appeared, from what Lilith had gathered while listening passively, that some of the guests were getting a little amorous. She'd have to make sure they didn't.. interrupt. She wasn't exactly interested in seeing her bloodline adding to the family tree and she didn't want Gremlin to walk in on it either.

As the ghost came hurtling into the hallway, sheet floating and billowing with movement, and eyes locked on Lilith, it very suddenly came sliding to a stop as the great-grandmother faded out once more. Little ghost eyes narrowed with suspicion and stayed that way even when Lilith returned again, though she was now further down the hallway. This game did not seem, to Gremlin, to be very fair. Still, she stalked forward, this time more slowly, and deliberately. It seemed that Lilith would only allow her to get so close before disappearing again. So, why expend the extra effort? She watched the woman for signs that she might be near fading out again as she got closer and closer... She also got lower and lower to the ground, the ghost sheet seeming to melt in towards the floor. And then suddenly, she pounced!...or at least, she attempted to.

Lilith watched Gremlin stalk her and she felt such a fondness for the fierce little predator. It had been a while since she'd admired a spirit in anyone and she certainly felt such an emotion when she watched her great-grandchild. Her eyes glimmered in the darkness, watching, waiting to see what she did next.
As the little ghost stalked closer and finally pounced, Lilith was ready. She caught her gently in her arms and a beautiful laugh escaped from the generally quiet entity. "You got me." She whispered. She smelled still of that same scent Grendel had encountered. Fire, salt, and earth, incense, and spices from a place long before. Smiling warmly at her great-grandchild she turned her head impishly to the side, the glimmer in her eyes somehow brighter. "Do you want to learn my trick?"
