whoa whoa whoa... Kat, you write? I want to read one of your books! I recently read "Keeping You a Secret" by a local author, and well, since the gay community isn't that big here in Colorado, I can't just waltz into a bookstore and go to the "Gay" section.

Yeah, I'm a writer and artist. Drew a shoujo-ai manga for five years and been writing novels for the past five. Finished 4 novels to date and working on 6 more projects. As we speak I'm nearing the ending of a new short triller story. I've converted my entire shoujo-ai manga series into a set of novels and just last month finished the second book. Should be started the 3rd soon enough. Most of my stories are lesbian drama/trillers. I've written horror and some rather unusual things as well. Also working on a set of erotica stories, most could not be posted on Gaia.

I'm not published for the very reason you mentioned. I got approached by a couple of agents claiming my works are worth publishing and even talked to a couple of publishers, but when I asked my wife about how she would get lesbian lit in her small town in Rhode Island and told me she would have to go to a porn shop or something like that. Two of my stories have been known to help gay youth with suicide and accepting who they are so I've decided to forego publishing and keep my stories online. That link to Shoujo-ai Canada in my sig is actually to my wife and my site. It hosts my art, writing, shoujo-ai reviews, art lessons and I've even opened it up for other writers, to help promote their works.

Anyways, Sorry to ramble on and on off topic like this.

I hope that link I posted eariler comes in handy for you.

i'm totally cool with it, ramble all you want! lol so i'll have to check that link out some time when i have time *it's a little late now* maybe if i ever get my own shoujo-ai story finished, you could read and let me know what you think.... but until my shounen-ai manga chapters are done being drawn, that will have to be put to the side lol ^^'

Take your time, the site has been around for 10 years this year... geez it has been a long time... So it is not going away any time soon.

I wish you luck on your projects and with this list.

BODYBUILDER

In study for a double major in Psychology/Sociology-during graduates school, I was assistant instructure to the Professor. I studied gender.
...
Transexuals individuals become transexual because during the first trimester in embryo development, the brain is developed differently from the developing body. The brain structure that is developing within the Stria Terminalis is different from the devloping body. The brain functions as the opposite gender than the physical gender they were born.
...
Transvestite is a person and especially a male who adopts the dress and often the behavior typical of the opposite sex especially for purposes of emotional or sexual gratification.
...
Cross Dressers and Transvestites are transvestic fetish, "fetishes" and have nothing to do with transxuals and don't fall into the same category.
Transvestic fetish which also falls into this category of "fetish":
...
Most drag queens perform for fulfillment as a hobby, a profession, or an art form; as a way to be in the spotlight; or as a road to local or wider fame. There are a significant number of heterosexual men, who are generally actors, who perform in drag. There are also transgender or transsexual people, as well as straight women, who perform as drag queens.
...
Drag queens are sometimes called transvestites, though that term has generally different connotations than "drag queen". "Drag queen" usually connotes cross-dressing for the purpose of entertainment or performance and is not usually used to describe those who cross-dress for the fulfillment of transvestic fetishes alone, or whose cross-dressing is primarily a part of a private sexual activity or identity.

It's sad that people feed into the "embryo development" explaination. Are they still teaching that garble? While it IS true that homosexual tendencies is an inborn trait, one would have you believe that it is a mutantcy.. or malformation. That assessment is incorrect. The difference in whether you are "gay", "straight", or "other" is as common to genetics as whether you have blue eyes or brown eyes. It is only SOCIETY that has re-moralized and degraded those who do not fit their ideas of the social norm. Hell, Freud was just as obsessed with sex as a common harlot might be... yet he was funded in his madness. It's a shame, really, that so many people feed into the media-which has used "science" to try and destroy us. The same concepts were used in World War Two when German-funded propaganda tried to depict differences between the German and the Jew.

On a side note, one distinction between transvestite and cross-dressers is lifestyle. Usually, the former is more full-time.. where the latter does so for their personal satisfaction: be it sexual, emotional, or financial. Many who would be transexuals live their lives as transvestites-always pre-becoming. Surgery is a long, exhaustive process that may span up to five-even ten years, and is expensive, risky, and still more obscure than most of us would like.

I hope I have been received well. I do not mean to offend, merely to enlighten.

thanks for helping out hun. i always appreciate a word or two from other guild members. because of this list, even i was able to find out what i really am.

I think the list needs to be edited.

Transexual are people that change there sex. transgenders identify with the opposite gender, or with a gender society would say does not correlate with their sex. essentially, you swapped them.

autosexual isn't a word. the proper term for romantic or sexual love for yourself is narcissism.

according to webster, pansexual means someone who enjoys a variety of sexual outlets. this doesn't mean interests in all genders, but in forms of intercourse.

did we add pansexual?

1. Adjective: A group which is open to members of all sexual orientations or gender identities including straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transexual, or transvestite.

2. Noun: A person who is sexually interested in other people regardless of gender including males, females, transexuals, tansvestites, gender benders, hermaphrodites, intersexuals, androgenous people, and those with sex-chromosome anomaly such as klinefelter syndrome or turner syndrome.

3. Noun: A person who is a member of a pansexual group or a person who associates with people of all sexual orientations but is not necessarily interested in sex with people of all sexes or genders though they may be comfortable with public displays of affection (PDAs) or semi-public sexual activity which is not confined to their own sexual orientation.

4. Noun: One who perceives all activities and experiences as sexual.

5. Noun: One who believes that all consensual activities are ethical.

6. Noun. One who believes that all
human behavior stems from the sex drive.

7. Adj. Pertaining to a person, group, or idea fitting the above descriptions.

Derivation: From the greek "pan" (meaning "all") and the english "sexual"

Alternate forms: pansexuality pansexualism pansexualist pansexualize

Synonyms: omnisexual

lol it's okay. when i first heard of pansexual, i was given so many definitions that i wasn't sure if one was right or another... this just proves there are many different def.s to it.
i personally am pansexual, and the def that i give it is that i'm attracted to just about any gender or any sexuality--for me, personality is the most important above anything else.

If you want to learn about all the different kinds Transgender folks, read a book called "The Riddle of Gender." The book even has a list of terms for alternative genders and sexualities that is TWO PAGES long! sweatdrop

Yeah, all of y'all understand the difference between transsexuals and transgender folks.... but with all these terms I just use something like "Queer" or "GLBTQ."
