Darksol88 A shot Aden might have, but it was dwindling fast. He barely even saw it, especially after Nidoran was struck hard by the attack. Even if he could've fired a command, his Pokemon just didn't have the speed to compete. Poliwhirl might've been his best shot to remain, but he'd just become a sitting duck. With the rain and wind still going strong, he quickly saw what little he had in comparison to someone like Falkner. Getting Mareep hadn't helped him this time; if anything, she became a liability. He should've worked more on her before coming back here, same with Nidoran. As he saw it, nothing short of obtaining a flier himself would've truly helped him here. He had the disadvantage on all counts, and with every edge now in Falkner's favor, to say he lost was an understatement. He was practically paralyzed, everything seeming to happen in slow motion. This battle was all but over before it really began, and while he still had trust in each of his Pokemon, he felt he had failed them greatly just by poor actions alone. "Nidoran, just... ready yourself. Even if you can get one hit before you're down, that'll be good enough." He finally said. He might've thought he still had a chance, but with something nearly as quick and powerful as Dodrio and practically impervious to damage, maintaining it was becoming difficult. Nidoran was quick to charge himself up, but seeing Aden like this all of a sudden made him really tempted to jab his horn into his leg. The hell was wrong with him now!? I looked over towards Aden. Aden's will was waning from this fight, and fast. The determination that he had for the past day or so, that insight, that seemed not to matter now. He was losing it. Jackie was seeing this as well and just about gave a smirk. "Skarmory! Use Slash!" Falkner shouted. "Skaaarrrrr!" The Skarmory flew off and pulled a u-turn, rushing off towards the Nidoran with bladed wings spread.

Nidoran was a little more lucky this time, ducking down as low as he could. The efforts helped to mitigate some of the impending attack's damage, and as soon as he felt he could move, he immediately ran towards Aden and jabbed his horn into his leg. He fell to his knees with a yelp. "What was that for!?"
What followed could be best described as his Nidoran outright calling Aden an idiot for letting a shine-for-brains bird trigger this. "You're seeing what that thing can do... it's probably out for blood. There's no way you can handle-" Another jab. That poison surely had to be bothering Aden now. "Agh!"
"(What, can't follow what you said this morning? IDIOT! That thing's a wimp, and if you haven't forgotten, I'm still standing! Grit those teeth and get over it before I see if I can do a lot worse to you!)"
"..." Aden gave a soft sigh, unable to really challenge what Nidoran just said. He didn't say anything, trying to calm himself. He needed to now, if only to ensure that any random poisoning didn't worsen. It was a short time before he did speak again, looking at the Skarmory. "...Hey, Falkner, let me say a little something."
He slowly stood back up. "You have your air game, and all the advantages of that. I can't fight that." Compared to earlier, he sounded a lot calmer. "I won't fight that. Why? I have a ground game, even if I'm forced to have one. I just have to make my own edge. I'm not done yet, you don't have me down! Nidoran, attack it! Shock Wave!"
His condition didn't look to hot, but Nidoran practically smirked. That was a little more like it. Glaring at the Skarmory for a second, he was willing to teach it why one shouldn't be so complacent. Even if he might be guilty of it. The discharge flew at a pace that rivaled Skarmory's speed, dancing along the rain as it began to die down.

Finally, Aden is getting his act together. This is what it takes between Pokemon and Trainers to finish this gym leader tour. Its by no means hard, but in the long run, its rewarding, win or lose. However, the desired effect is to win. I pray that Aden could do this right from here on.
The Shockwave rushed through the field and caught the metallic bird in the field. "SKAAARR!" It shouted. It made a abrupt landing and skidded on the ground, making a spin to face the Nidoran.
"Then show me, Aden." Falkner said. "Come at my Pokemon with all you got!"
The rains eventually started to calm and the tailwinds died out. The field was rain soaked...which no complaints here. I was tired of getting wet. "Bah..." And with that, I shook a bit, shaking the water out of my feathers a bit.
"HEY!" Jackie said.
"Skarmory! Use Steel Wing!" He shouted. The Skarmory kicked off the ground and started to rush off towards the Nidoran.

"Yeah, I'll show you... I'll show you what we can do! Nidoran, trip it up! Flatter!" Aden called, keeping himself still while he recovered. If he tried an assault now, it'd end badly. And dodging, while useful, didn't match up to Nidoran suddenly complimenting on the sheen of Skarmory's wings.

"Oh no..." Falkner said. He saw how this was a prelude to Jackie's demise from the sidelines. "Skarmory! Hurry up! Use Slash attack!" The Skarmory looked back at Falkner then readied its wings. "Skaaar?" It went to wave forward, while still facing Falkner but leaned forward a bit too much, falling over. "SKAR!"

Snap out of it! Get to flying at least!" Falkner shouted. "Skar!" Skarmory managed to do that much at least, taking flight into the air above the Nidoran.

Nidoran was quick to get on the defensive, readying himself and getting some distance away from Skarmory.

The Skarmory was still a bit confused, if not a bit dazed from the attack following the flattery. "Skarmory! Come down on the Nidoran! Go!" The Skarmory just hovered there, perplexed to say the least. He came down towards the Nidoran, but it wasn't the way Falkner wanted to. It came down slowly down towards a hover nearby. "Skarmory! No!"

"See? Skarmory knows Nidoran's nice... sorta." Aden spoke up, nodding to himself. "I think the tune's gonna go back to normal soon, though. Now!" He watches as Nidoran was on the verge of attacking, walking up to Skarmory's side.
"Again! Shock Wave!"
Sharmory might see Nidoran jump back before letting off the discharge, giving off every possible hint that he didn't like this metal bird one bit. And that he was never really on the same side.

The electric pulse electrocuted the metal bird. The Skarmory screeched out, not liking that attack at all. Yea, this Nidoran meant business apparently. Skarmory hit the ground and went into a bit of a staggering motion before managed to get steady on its feet once more. "Skaaaarrrr!" "Finally! You come to! Skarmory! Use Slash Attack!" Falkner said. The Skarmory then kicked off the ground with wings fanned out to strike the Nidoran.

The attack would hit, doing hardly any damage to the Skarmory, but it was a glancing graze to say the least upon the Skarmory. One that would have a pretty burn sensation in the long run. It was enough to compel the Skarmory to make another landing real quick on the ground.

The Skarmory could feel itself slow down instantly as the ice started to cake upon its metallic surface. The damage wasn't that great, but to say the least, the damage was now starting to add up, and it was showing. "Skarmory! Use Aerial Ace!" Falkner shouted. The Skarmory kicked off the ground, trying to get warmth back to its metallic wings and started to rush for the Poliwhirl as fast as it could.
