"Wow! You can really do that? That sounds so cool! I may have to try that myself some day!" Keiko beamed.

"It's quite possible, as you can see." Odd replied, his hand becoming slightly transparent as it became intangible. "But it's certainly something you don't want to take lightly. Once the bond is forged with your Link Pokemon, it's unbreakable. Quite literally. If either the Pokemon or the Channeler dies, for instance, the other will die as well." He added, knowing full-well that feeling of excitement over the prospect of being more powerful. He still had a dream of becoming a Sage, for example. He knew that title was reserved solely for the wisest and most powerful hybrid or channeler of a given type. He would have to become much, much stronger before he would even come close to achieving his long-term dream.

"I'd heed his warnings, Miss Keiko. My family has always been full of Dragon Channelers and hybrids. There are stories passed down to me of ancestors who took their Link far too lightly as Channelers and it cost them their lives." Al added to Odd's input, worried a bit by Keiko's sudden interest. This wasn't just about Keiko or not, he'd be worried about anyone showing such a sudden excitement and interest in Channelers and Hybrids.

"O-oh..." Keiko said, her momentum frozen in an instant. She almost asked Odd what made him do something so dangerous, but he already explained - he's pursuing a dream. This conflicted her a bit; she was still greatly interested in the abilities a Channeler could possess, but she didn't want to put herself in undue danger. She kept trying to think of a good reason for her to go for it, but she couldn't, other than the desire to try.

"You ok? You've been out of it for a while now." Tsuki would ask back, meaning he was just checking up on him. Sub didn't even get like this when his previous life as a monk was brought up. Maybe someone died?... na.

"I'm decent enough." Was the only answer Sub gave Tsuki. Something was bothering him, but not even the death of another would get him this down, if anything he laughed at death.

She kept trying to think of a good reason for her to go for it, but she couldn't, other than the desire to try.

"I'm not telling you not to go for it if you have a strong enough conviction. I'm just telling you to make sure it's what you really want before you go for it." Odd said as he looked Keiko squarely in the eyes. "Think long and hard about what you truly want to do -what you want to become/b]- before you dedicate yourself to that path." It should be clear from his voice that he had done just that. He had no regrets about the path he chose to follow. "But always remember that you have your human strengths and weaknesses without taking the power of Pokemon into yourself. There are some things that only humans can do, some things only they can be."

You sound like you know this from experience. Cadenza interjected, though only Odd would hear it.

I suppose you could say that. Humans are the only living things in this world that can be truly precious. So fragile in comparison to Pokemon, hybrids and Channelers. The humans in our lives must be protected, always. It's what I fight for, these humans I call my friends. Odd replied, though these words were of the soul, and as such, only Cadenza could hear them now.

"N-no... I just thought it was awesome that you could do stuff like that... but after talking like that, I don't know if I..."
PostPosted: Sat Jul 14, 2012 11:00 pm

Odd laughed lightly at Keiko's response. "I won't lie, this kind of power is pretty amazing. But it's a permanent change, so it's something you should be sure about before pursuing it." He admitted, clenching his fist tightly.

"If you find this kind of potential alluring, then find a good reason to seek it. Someone or something worth protecting. It's the greatest reason I can imagine for being willing to accept such a change." He pumped his clenched fist in the air once to emphasize his point.

"But.....I should probably get back to training now.....I need to really master this new power so I can use it on missions." He finally announced, offering a sheepish grin. "Later!" With that, he'd phase through the floor and back into the basement, Cadenza following him soon after. If Keiko wanted to continue their conversation, she could find him in the training room.

Al, on the other hand, was pleased with the current turn of events. At least now he didn't have to worry about Keiko rushing recklessly into something drastically life-changing. "I should go check on The Lair. I'll return shortly if you'd like. Otherwise, I'm likely to stay and make lunch for myself and my Pokemon." He said, scratching his chin with a single finger as he thought about it.

Someone to protect, huh? Keiko agreed; that was a very good reason.

Al kept her from getting too into her mind, though. "Huh? Oh, of course. I think I'll join you for lunch, actually. I could make something in the kitchen in HQ and bring it over?"
PostPosted: Sat Jul 14, 2012 11:08 pm

Al nodded, a smile on his face. "That sounds lovely, Miss Keiko. I'm sure you can make something far better than the fried fish I was thinking of cooking." He said, offering her a confident grin. "You remember where The Lair is, right?" He asked playfully, as if she could have forgotten so soon.

"Of course!" Keiko said with a smile. "See you in about half an hour!"

Half an hour later, three Pokemon would knock on Aluette Renarde's 'door'. All three pokemon belonged to Keiko: Stasy the Happiny, Lady the Ledian, and Rita the Gothita. The three pokemon bore a single message, that all three were holding with both hands when Al saw them.

Note to Mr. Renarde
Al,

I'm really sorry about this, but I have to go to Castelia. Mr. Terashi, the guy that helped you save me in White Forest, found out something about my birth certificate, and I need to go right away. I shouldn't be gone long, so if you'd like, I'll bring back something from Castelia for us to eat.

See you soon!
Keiko

Al answered his "door" with a small smile on his face. He was expecting Keiko but instead found himself looking down at three small Pokemon. "Oh my.......I see. I suppose that would warrant a bit more priority than lunch with me...." He said as he read the note the three carried.

"Well, would you three like to come inside and wait for her return?" He offered to the three Pokemon, leaving the door open so they could come inside and wait if they wanted. He'd be working on making some treats for Tweety and Togetic, whom he still hadn't thought of a name for.

"Ok. Time to start." Hawk said, placing his Joltik on the floor of the training room. "We're gonna do some combat training. I know it's been a while, so we're gonna start you off small.... ya know, someone on the team that won't tip the scales either way." Hawk fumbled through his bag and retrieved a pokeball. "So let's see how you fare against Two!" Hawk's Lunatone was released, and the pokemon slowly drifted around the immediate area, as if lost. "I'm not gonna be giving you commands. I want to see how you can do on your own! You know, in case we're in some kind of mega battle on a spire in the middle of the ocean." As Hawk spoke, he was backing away from the two pokemon, putting enough distance between them and him so that stray attacks wouldn't chop his toes off.

Once he was a sufficient distance away, Hawk chopped the air! "Begin!"

Four knew what he had to do! He pushed off the ground and leaped straight at the weird floating rock!!! This was going to be epic. Hawk wasn't going to regret taking him back! He was gonna open with an epic attack! Maybe bug bite or bug buzz! Did he know those things? One way to find out! Chaaaaaarge---

As soon as Four jumped, Two spun around, hisherits large, blood red eyes seeming to catch all four of the tiny pokemon's. There was a brief flash, and then Joltik fell to the ground, asleep. Bam. Slapped with a Hypnosis! Was it a cheap move? Eh, maybe. Wanna know what IS cheap? The Dream Eater Two began using directly afterwards. The battle didn't last long... nor was it very even, but it showed Hawk just how much work he'd need to put into getting Four up to snuff...

"That was weak." Odd announced as he entered the training room, tugging on his left leg, trying to make it finish phasing through the door. "I've got to get better at this......I don't feel like leaving a foot behind because I messed up......." He mumbled as his leg finally finished phasing through. It took him a minute before he was back on the previous train of thought, however. That of coming in to train his Pokemon and himself.

A red-haired girl sat alone a little ways away from HQ. Well, she wasn't completely alone, since two of her Pokemon sat with her. Renata, the female Nidoran, sat on one of Kairi's shoulders, and the girl was absent-mindedly scratching the rabbit-like Pokemon behind the ears, causing the Nidoran to chirrup in joy. The other Pokemon lay silently behind Kairi, a Rhyhorn by the name of Griselda whom was currently the most recent addition to Kairi's team, was asleep behind her trainer. Kairi sighed and leaned back to rest against Griselda, staring up at the sky. It felt weird being alone now. Neither Reno nor Leslie was around. Even Dante was nowhere to be seen. The red-head silently wished for some company, well, company that wasn't her Pokemon.

It appeared that Kairi would get her wish, as Dante stumbled towards her. Of course, Dante nearly stumbled backwards when Kairi turned to look at him. The redhead had neglected to put her bandages on today, so, Dante was a little shocked when his gaze was suddenly met with the gaze of both of Kairi's eyes, one golden, and one almost ghostly in appearance, scars etched into it. It was certainly a sight to behold. "I thought you didn't like people seeing your scars..." Dante whispered, just loud enough for Kairi to hear him. Kairi merely shrugged and looked away from her human companion. "I don't, but, as I'm sure you noticed, I was alone here. No one but my Pokemon to see my scars," Kairi muttered, her hand reaching up to play with the pinkish-red feather in her hair. Dante looked around for a moment, not sure what to say. "Hey... Mind if I sit with you?" "Huh? Oh... yeah, sure.." The blue-haired boy sat down beside Kairi, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her close to him. She seemed so lost in thought, and he wondered if he could get her to talk to him about what was bothering her. Unfortunately for Dante, Kairi has personal space issues and instead of letting her boyfriend's cousin hold her and comfort her, she pushed him away, knocking him to the ground.

"I said you could sit down, I never said anything about you touching me," she practically snarled at him. Dante sighed and let his head hang. "I'm sorry, Kairi. You just looked like you needed someone to talk to. I thought maybe... "Well, you obviously thought wrong. So don't try that again." Dante simply shook his head and stood up, walking back towards HQ. Maybe she'd allow him to listen to her problems after she'd calmed down a bit. For now though, Dante would see if there was anyone else he could talk to for a bit. He didn't feel like being a punching bag for Kairi right now.

Lykas sat out by the base of the waterfall hiding Snagem HQ from view. He had his Milotic in front of him and a pink Frillish beside him. "Nuregami....what do you think it would take for Narcissa to let Odd work with her?" He asked of the Milotic. "She should learn how to battle like a Ghost Pokemon as well as a Water-type but it's like she doesn't want to be around Odd at all anymore......"

Narcissa, the Frillish at his side, merely shifted in her sleep at the mention of her name. While she had no real reason for it, a good nap still made her feel better once in a while.

Lykas, despite his conversation, seemed to be relaxing in the cool water. His feet were dangling over the edge and it seemed his incredibly long, ice colored ponytail was allowed to float freely in as much of the water as it could reach.

Nooooo you're a ghost! Odd is dead!" After a second of wild sobbing, Hawk rose shaking hands at Odd. "But why haunt me? Haunt Terashi instead!"
