Formal balls weren’t exactly his thing, but Val had been invited as well as a plus one. His first though had been to decline because he needed to look after Emi, but she was going out on a playdate with one of her little friends. He had to admit, she was growing up on him. Already she was old enough to go on playdates without a chaperone. As he was not needed at the moment as a parent, he could fulfill his role as a boyfriend. ”My nerves are all dead, but I do still have them. But you’ll be fine. If it makes you feel better, I promise not to be quite as much of an a** while we’re there.” He could hear her flipping through the cassettes too fast to actually be looking at them. ”I remember that feeling, it’s very uncomfortable. But last time I felt anything like that they were actually maggots and my body was expelling them for days.” That was probably not the right thing to say, and it definitely didn’t paint a pretty picture, but Isa was just trying to relate.
Eventually he pulled up outside of the venue, his sweet little Trabi having safely carried them across town without any problems. Maybe it was a lich too? ”If you want to wait a little while longer and collect yourself it is fine, but if you are ready I will escort you in. Be the real belle…adonna of the ball.” He too was all dressed up in a suit very unnatural to him, but he wanted this party to be all about her, not him.

❖ The lady of the hour arrived he didn’t care if she was late or not as long she was what all he needed to know and confirm. For sure he knew now that he was not stood up in any way something to keep in mind. As he tipped a glass to her as she walked in with her sexiness and allure. He acknowledged her apology with a smirk not thinking it was sincere for a minute he was like that himself sometimes sorry but not sorry. She told him about making a deal and asking about the gathering itself. “ Speakeasy? ” he was about to ask her how old she was but decided against it. Then Again he had a thousand plus years old being sharing his body so he can’t call people “old’ anymore. “ it was boring honestly until you showed up” part smooth and part honest he was not interested in any one of these people but her. ❖ He was no simp but had his priorities straight eyes on the prize so to speak. The word unleash caught his attention what was like chaos and devastation a sly smile emerged on his face. Usually, Adram would chime in but he was deep in meditation within Solomon's mind or body who knows? Yet would be aware of everything that Solomon experience two souls one body. He was on his own not like he needed his grandpa for everything. “ Unleash what exactly,” he said taking a sip and looking her way he had a knowing expression. He disliked liked spellcasters yet he was right next to one hanging out. “ Not that I really need to ask but humor me and if you’d like to dance I’m down I might surprise you” He spoke all that with calm confidence mostly his default setting. The daycare is something he definitely took note of, as he doesn't want to keep pawning Ambrose on his boss every time a project comes up. Ambrose is also reaching that age where it is good for him to make some friends too. And speaking of the little tyke, his eyes have been taking on a sparkling sheen from the moment he heard the word Aquarium come from her mouth, eyes on Vincent as if pleading. It isn't like they are tight on time, nor money right now. But it is best to get settled before they start touring the city for fun reasons instead of practical. "If you can behave, I will consider it when I have my next day off." The look on Ambrose's face already tells him that the child is 100% certain he will cave and take him anyways. He doesn't spoil Ambrose per say, but he doesn't rob him of having some fun either. he would feel guilty if he did. The kid already had a potential childhood robbed from him the moment his parents both died.
While Ambrose might not have heard her, Vincent certainly did, a chuckle escaping him before he tries to cover it up with a clear of his throat. She isn't wrong. He's certainly met some adults that really should grow up mentally. A lot of them were far less mature than even his 5-year-old nephew. Adults who would throw fits over prices and try to haggle with him and his boss on a project. They are willing to pay the men doing the work to make the building, but the artist that actually designed and put together your blueprints? Nah, they don't deserve it apparently. He is basically the heart of a building project, as you can't start building without his designs, yet people are always trying to snub him. He's an architect, not an idiot.
When they reach the table, Ambrose has a little trouble peering over it, only able to see the stuff that is a little higher up. Instead of lifting him up, Vincent releases his hand and comes up behind him, letting him step back onto the top of his shoes so he can stand a little higher. After scooting closer to the table, Ambrose thanks him for the extra boost as Vincent makes sure to keep a hold on him so he doesn't fall. "Hmm, I can't have desserts yet." Vincent nods in agreement, giving a hum to let the child know that he approves of him remembering the rules about dinner first. "What are in the little sammiches?"

He's brimming with excitement, and it is probably obvious. Though the lights are a little bright for his liking today, and he can already feel his skin starting to get that slight itch of a burn, he wants to enjoy being able to hang out with someone he's befriended outside of work. He doesn't really invite people over to his place because it tends to creep people out considering the fact that his place is an abandoned house which he's preserved most of the old furniture for. And you know...has the spirits of a dead family living in it. But at least they are nice to him! The darkness surrounding him unsettles them a little, but they are at least friendly and nice with Alistair. "I can't wait to see it. If this is stunning, I am curious as to what else you can do."
He is glad that they don't linger on the relationship thing, as it is something that makes him depressed sometimes. The last thing he needs, is sloth to come out and make him feel lethargic and sap out all of his excitement. "I do so dislike dealing with him. How am I to feed when he makes it to where you barely want to move?" Yeah, Lust and Sloth really don't get along well. One is about action, and the other...not so much. "We can figure it out together as we go." At least she knows more than he can currently remember. His father taught him some things, but he never really went to any balls. Just stayed in his own little world in the forest.
When she leads him out onto the dancefloor, he takes a deep breath and tries to focus less on being nervous and more on the weight of Kairo and Vanti's arms around his. It will be fine. He will not embarrass himself. The lights in the room flicker for just a moment, and he flushes in embarrassment, because he knows that the darkness surrounding the ceiling above the lights is his fault, and that if he gets overwhelmed, they will bust all of the lights in the room. "Lead the way, I will try to watch out for your classy looking heels."

“Sneaky cat doing sneaky, sneaky things.” He repeated, snapping at the hand playfully as it came up to pet the top of his head. With one hand still on her waist, Jean grabbed one of her hands and gently spun her around in his arms to get a good look at her outfit, just as much as she was checking him out.
“New-new, but I don’t measure up to this gorgeous dress and if you’re a bad girl I might even write a song about tonight. If you’re a really, really bad girl, I might have something in my pocket for you.” he teased playfully, giving her a toothy grin that spread from one ear to the next like he embodied the Cheshire cat. “Jacket pocket.” he then clarified after letting his crude and blatant flirt linger between them for a bit. Then, letting their fingers merge as she took charge, he casually sauntered along her lead. The tables they soon rounded were filled to the brim with all kinds of snacks, and Seri was quick to point out his favourite cuisine: seafood.
“Oh? Sounds like I’ll have to get my fill before they’re gone.” He said, licking his lips as he reached out to grab one, but rather than feeding himself, he held the crap cake up to her lips first, offering her the first bite. “So, my queen of mischief, what should we do? Switch around some tags? Lick all the cupcakes and put them back? Drink straight from the chocolate fountain?” he asked as he leaned in towards her ear, not wanting to alert other nearby patrons while they got their fill first.

With Vitessa on gone on her undisclosed business trip, Akane found herself less busy than usual. Surely assuming she was hired to protect her, she thought she'd be asked to tag along, though it seemed like Mother had other plans for her and the crimson hued demon found herself asked to behave and attend formal events with a few of her other associates and handle smaller tasks that wouldn't be too bad if she let her tongue lose and ruined them. Thankfully, it didn't come to that, not as often as anticipated and she was on a fair behavior for most of her socializing instances. As a reward, Beverly and mama found it fitting to send her to the ball so she could have some time off and find more playmates. At least, that is what she told herself. Even if the world would say otherwise, she was most definitely going to crash a formal event as such and make every possible excuse to make people uncomfortable.
"Wah, why do people get so boring after they age a little bit." the raven haired young woman thought aloud as she took a sip of the glass of champagne. She was clearly referring to an old man she was trying to give a hard time to simply because he was looking at her a second too long. "It was a joke, besides, we are both of legal and sound thinking minds. Mine..a much advanced one than yours.." she added with a playful wink as the man was escorted by his guards further away from this menace which made her snicker triumphantly. Ah, if only Inquisition(Beverly) or mama(Vitessa) were here to see her.
A sigh escaped her painted red lips, she wouldn't admit it to them but she was surely missing them. She sure gave them a hard time when they were around, Vistessa didn't seem to mind but Beverly would have loved pushing Akane off a cliff but it was all in good spirit. Maybe. She brushed her hair behind her ear and pulled out her phone to send them a selfie and show them her outfit for the night - the most obvious color choice being black, she went for something more mature and fitting for the occasion. She did hide her iconic crimson hues for a change but nothing drastically making her a new person.
Just when she'd think the night couldn't get any more interesting, a particular blonde ruining her selfie caught her attention. A grin crept on her lips as she spotted a detail she couldn't dare overlook. "What's this? Vodka has a play-date?" she said to herself and turned around, slipping her phone into her purse and headed over without wasting any time.
The woman managed to catch up to them quite quickly, maybe even slipped over unnoticed by the pair. She didn't hesitate to make her presence known, shifting her weight forward and squeezing between them but not enough to break their physical contact, but enough to seem like the third wheel with no boundaries as she looked at the two with a silly smile. "Well, personally, the first course of action would always be to make your presence known by causing a scene, but I can see why you two wouldn't be for that idea. I mean, seeing your suitor with another woman wouldn't be the best idea. Especially if I was a rich blonde, wannabe-hottie who porkes my boss." she'd state, casting her gaze up to the man with a flutter to her lashes, "Great to see you here, soviet russia. By that I mean, you nearly ruined my night. Who is this? You're a very charming lady, lady. Why would you go for someone who smells like rubbing alcohol?" Akane now shifted her attention to the woman, making them lose physical contact this time as she moved forward to face the woman better.
"You must be wondering -Who is this gorgeous woman? Well, I'm Akane, I'm sure he never spoke about me. Didn't you..daddy?" she'd state, looking back at him again.
