It's because no one says interesting stuff which is really work re-commenting on more than half a day later.

there never seems to be two people online at once.

At least, there hardly ever seems to be anyone on when I am, which admittedly isn't very often these days. Used to be heaps better but a tonne of regulars just dropped off the face of the Earth somewhere.
