Aden was following rather quickly, finally checking to see exactly what was in that envelope. He noticed that there wasn't a large amount, about $1,500. A little more than he had thought. But one oddity caught his eye. Another of those small discs. "Uh. Maybe I should've checked this sooner, but are TMs usually given out alongside?" He asked.

"Usually." I said. "Let me think...what does Falkner usually hand out. I...want to say he hands out the TM of Roost." I said, thinking a bit. "I'm not entirely sure. I know that the TM that my teacher hands out is Hail. He used to give out Icy Wind, but Icy Wind isn't made as a TM nowadays, for some...stupid...reason." I said, shrugging.

"Might've just changed over time or something." Aden wasn't really sure, but that seemed to be the only plausible explanation that came to mind. Still, if it was a move like that, he doubted anyone with him was capable of learning it. He opted to stash the TM for now, feeling it may be more useful later.

I continued on the path. Aden would notice that we'd soon past the gym once more, but not to stop there. Just down the path a couple of moments more, and the Pokemon Mart was within view. "Well, there it is Aden." I said to him. "Make the most of what you got." I said to him.

"Oh, right." Aden already had a somewhat decent idea on what to get, though his knowledge on items was general at best. When he went inside, he learned the hard way that he was going to be limited anyway; despite the sheer variety of wares, a lot of it had prices that'd leave him broke a lot faster than buying the cheaper items. It was likely better to avoid those expensive items for now. Bother with them when he has more experience, and more funds, under him.

Ultimately, he decided to stick to the more essential supplies. Pokeballs, Potions... a few Antidotes and Paralysis Heals too. He kept it to only five of each, figuring that'd be more than enough for travel from Violet to Azalea. He couldn't get much more than that anyway, having only $250 left after it all.

I on the other hand wasn't as quick to get what I needed as Aden was. I was trying to think on the long run. I had plenty of healing items to say the least, at least to get to Azalea. I was trying to think of anything else that might be of a need for me. The Mart just about had anything one needed. Pokeballs, health items, items in general, food, etc. "Hmm...Timer Ball? Ehhh, I dont tend to last too long in a fight with a wild Pokemon anyho-AH! Here we go. This might be a bit of a use in a person in my position." I said. "Nest Ball. Perfect."

If it wasn't for the fact that Aden knew about Blizzard's overall experience and the high likelihood that he was a bit more loaded, he'd have wondered a little. But it did remind him that he might want to go ahead and make a little further use of what he had left. His Pokemon did need to eat, after all.

"Uh... is there any real difference between the two?" He asked as he went to get a little bit of food as well. He knew his inexperience was showing, but for what it was worth, he doubted everyone would really know these things right away.

"Huge difference." I said. "If you set a timer ball, the longer that you are in a battle, the more effective it'll be. In fact, its potientially stronger than that of a Ultra Ball." I said to him. "That said, you'd have to be in battle for a while. And don't think you can just set the timer ball any time you'd like and have it ready by the time your next wild Pokemon capture comes around. It'll automatically shut off if you leave it on far too long." I said. "A Nest Ball on the other hand is perfect in a person in my situation. If your Pokemon is far stronger than the Pokemon you are capturing, then the effectiveness of this ball is dramatically increased."

"That doesn't sound all too useful..." Perhaps it was a mild sort of impatience, but Aden doubted he'd be in a fight long enough to really see the full potential of it. "The timer ball, that is. Nest doesn't either, at least not yet." His intent wasn't on dismissing either in any circumstance; but at present, he wouldn't be able to make much use of them.

His next question was practically inevitable, but understandable. "There any other balls like these?"

"Oh yea, lets see...there's Dusk Balls, for one." I said. "They work best during the night time or if you go into caverns. In such conditions, they rival a Ultra Ball, believe it or not. A Heal Ball would be good for someone starting off." I then mused. "A Heal Ball will heal a Pokemon right away when captured. Like I said, though, its for those who are starting off, as in, still have room in their line-up. If not, its going to go into the PC anyways and they'll be taken care of then which...eh, a waste, really. There are also Quick Balls, which when triggered, they'll surpass that of a Ultra Ball too, but best used pretty much right away because their power goes down until it shuts off." I said. "Then there are some like the Pokeballs made out of Apricorns, that a man named Kurt specializes in, which as a matter of fact, he's in Azalea town. He can make various balls like Love Balls, which work best on Pokemon that are the opposite gender than the one you're battling against, or the Heavy Ball, which works best on Pokemon that are well...heavy. And I do mean heavy. We're talking like Gravelers, Snorlaxes, and so on." I said to him.

As Blizzard explained all of this, Aden had been taking notes. He wanted some kind of reference in case he forgot, especially for the likes of Dusk or Quick Balls. The Apricorn balls weren't sounding too bad either, recalling the single green one that was given to him when they were on the way to Violet City.

"...Wait, I think you brought up the Apricorns before." He said as he took the Green Apricorn out. "Back when you found and tossed this over. I've seen something like it on the outskirts when we passed by too, but it was yellow instead." A mental note was soon made to grab those when possible.

I then looked over towards the Pokeball selection, then gave a sigh. "You know? Forget this." I said. I put the Nest Ball back. "When all else fails, go old school." I said. "It works for me anyways." I said, grabbing a few Great Balls and Ultra Balls. "Nothing fancy, just straight up capture." I said.

"Not too many situations that'd make the other balls useful yet?" Aden asked. He found it a little odd that Blizzard would go no-frills so suddenly, but he knew that he wasn't exactly strong. Neither were the Pokemon around here, compared to later areas that'd surely be visited.

"Eh, no." I said to him. "I don't tend to use these special balls too often anyhow, even if I do get them. Its not that I don't care for them, in fact quite the opposite. I guess its just preference, I guess...truth be told, even if I do get them, I probably won't use them too often anyhow, rather it be me not thinking about it or what have you." I said to Aden.

"Oh. I thought it might be because of how much they cost." Aden said, noting that most of the balls like that seemed to be marked for $1,000 each. The only one that wasn't were the Heal Balls, which was only slightly more than a standard Pokeball.
