Ryukai sighed, stepping closer. "I know you two were both rivals and friends, as Jack had put it. I doubt you know, but his spirit cannot rest in peace until things are set straight. This includes letting me live until we can all find out why he cannot rest." He gazed at the sky. "I will open my arms to Gaia once Nomoru claims me." He gazed at Vlad. "Nomoru, my father, shan't be too happy if I die before my time comes. Death will be reversed, and then no one can find peace in Gaia, the Mother who birthed our ancestors. Is that what you want? To have no one able to find you 'Mother'?"

Shishuri stepped over to Rosalind. "Do not worry. In Vladmir's state, all he can think about is Gaia's orders and your orders. If he thinks killing Ryukai-san would make it impossible for anyone to go to Gaia, then he will most likely stop."

Rosalind looked down on him and then knelt, also. "Vlad," she said, speaking low, "I need you to listen to me." Her worried glance searched his eyes for some sing of recognition, truth, anything. Where are you?
