XD Well here is one picture of him. It is the one the lady originally sent me of him when we where thinking about getting him. I'm sure I'll be flooding the picture thread later with pics of him when I'm not so tired.

So far he has been really good. He is such a friendly little guy, only problem so far is we have to work on his seperation barking. Since he has always been around either other people or dogs, he starts to beg whine bark whenever I'm out of site. Can't blame him for it though since he has had to go through so much in the last 24 hours. Left his home, went to the vets, pet store so we could pick up a crate and few other essentials, then the 5 hour plus ride home. Lots of stress for the little guy.

I'm disappointed that Gaia now allows people to apply to be mods instead of handpicking them like they used to. It rather lessens the respect I have for the moderators now.

You know, Fog, people still have to apply. And just because you apply doesn't mean you'll become a mod. It's like any other job. They have to want you @_@ This just gives the opportunity to everyone instead of just a select few, and with how big Gaia is getting, I can see why they're looking for extra help. I think it's great that they're finally doing this

I'm sure it makes appointing mods a lot easier. I'd prefer to have people come to me and sift through them instead of seeking out people who may or may not want the job when there's so many members on Gaia. The larger Gaia gets, the more mods are needed to keep things in order. I don't see how you can lose respect for them for making things more efficient.

I'm heading off to a convention from Friday to Sunday. Not sure of how my internet time will be, but I'll try to check in when I can.

Unless they are extremely careful in picking moderators, I fear that we'll have idiotic people abusing their power left and right. Moderation is a gift and a wonderful privilege. It means more if the heads of Gaia agree that you're the right person for the job. Allowing people to sign up like it's a job for telemarketing cheapens the sentiment of the whole thing. *shrugs*

As for me, I'm not cut out for it. I despise conservative Republicans with a fiery passion and any topic in the ED or elsewhere with said bias would quickly be deleted by my hand without remorse. I also dislike homophobes, pro-lifers, and racists. I'm a hardcore liberal.

Thanks, he is 9 pounds of absolute cuteness. I'm afraid I'm still working on a name though. I think I've fallen in love with the idea of naming him Cricket, but my mom just hates that name (she isn't an insect person <.<) His previous/registered name is Desert Storm for anyone interested.

He's been doing really great these past few days. He has become a lot less whiney to come out of the crate when I leave the room. I think he is starting to calm down and adjust to his new environment, not to mention realize I don't react to whining at all. It is amazing what the simple act of ignoring can do when it comes to molding ones behavior.

Thankfully, he has also been feeling a lot better. A week before we went up to get him, he was neutered. Of course that is never pleasant, but to add to it he managed to give himself a slight infection do to too much licking. First day we got him he really didn't want to do anything but sit and lay down because he wasn't feeling good when it came to moving. We got him another dose of meds to clear it up, and a no lick collar. It is basicly a brace that goes along his neck and makes it so he can't bend and reach to lick. Poor guy looks like he has a broken neck when he walks around with it. I hate making him have to wear it, but at night or when I don't have him out, its a must to make sure he doesn't lick. It all is working though because he is feeling much better. Loves to bound around and play.

He has also be very good about using the proper potty, aka the backyard. He has been peeing out there well on our bathroom breaks, and so far he has only had one poop accident in his crate. It was only a tiny little one and I merely used it as an oppertunity to scoop it up and dump in his potty area so he had something to sniff around in the backyard. Sadly we are still waiting for him to poop again. He hasn't been eating a lot lately do most likely to all the stress. Been slowly eating more and more of his food though so I'm hoping to get him to go pooh IN THE BACKYARD soon. <.< Lol sorry for all the potty talk just couldn't help but update.

Oh, in other good news today was his birthday, he is now 1 year old. Went to the petstore and got him some yummy chicken jerky dog treats he loves, a Kong chew toy, and some little tennis dog size tennis balls for presents. X3

And now, for a little update on me. Went in to have an MRI today. Because of the Migrains, my doctor had me see an nerologist who wanted the tests on just to rule out there isn't anything funky going on in my brain... well outside of my usually wacky mantis obsessed thoughts. Wasn't too bad, though as usually I had to wait for 40 minutes before being seen. Hates the wait times in most doctor offices. stare

The mods aren't stupid. They will do a good job of picking good moderators, and if they don't work out, well, like any other job, they'll lose the privilige. It's not a system where too much permanent damage could be done if the wrong person got the job. It's pretty easy to remedy some things

And yes, I agree, you probably wouldn't make a good mod
