We had an HRD search today. It's a year old but we didn't have enough clues the first time around since the guy wouldn't tell us where he dumped her. But we went out and I was with a dog handler from our own team and we had 7 other dogs with CARDA handlers. A lot of poison oak and brush and slippery slidey hills. I think I spent more time sliding down on my butt and crawling up on hands and knees than anything else.
But three dogs hit on one area and so they decided to excavate the area to see if she was there. Fun stuff. I didn't stay to watch because then your name gets documented as being present and anyone can access the documentation including the media and nobody wants the media to be calling your house.

Rainy- Sounds like you had a busy day. Hope they do indeed find her.

As for my mini update, things have been going pretty good. My dog, Kirby, has been settling in pretty good. His anxiety barking (when I'm not in eye sight of him) is slowly getting better, and he no longer feels the need to stick to me like glue when he is out of his crate.

Currently I'm looking to get him a good soft sided travel crate. Want to get him a nice one for when I take trips with him. Currently I'm thinking about getting him a Sherpa, this model to be exact- http://www.sherpapet.com/products/detail.php?proddetail_name=The Ultimate Sherpa Bag&proddetail_post=Y

I'm still browsing though so if anyone has suggestions of another brand feel free to share. One important note is I'm looking for a model that is normally acceptable for in cabin plane flights. That's one of the reasons I was looking at Sherpa. They seem to be pretty widly accepted and recognized by any flight companies that allow animals in the cabin.

Hmm...I heard a very interesting rumor at work today...Apparently, the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy is getting shot down for some reason. Personally, I like the sound of that. I don't know if it's true or not, but I just have this feeling that it might be.

Arg, damn my car to Hell. Something's always wrong with it. Had to buy a new battery, and may need a new alternator. I already bought a new piece for it this summer. Two or three new parts in a season. Gah. $76 for the mechanics to just look at it and say "maybe this or that" is wrong with it, which my step-dad paid for, and another $77 for the battery and some other little do-dads (can you tell I'm not a car person?) my step-dad said I should get. If there's still problems, will have to get alternator. Rawr.

Finally signed up for classes. Got some stupid-a** s**t classes because the selection at the community college here sucks. Not looking forward to any of them accept the Psych. class I wanted. Ugh, I didn't want to take another college math course, but I have to. On the plus side, I can get my AA by the end of the year. But, there goes $1300+ for classes and $200+ for textbooks (not sure how much it will be, one of the books wasn't available). Ouch. Stupid government deciding "Lol, no moniez for j00!"

We no longer have a kennel assistant. She didn't call or show up on Sunday so she's being let go.

That sucks.... what are you guys going to do now?

keep searching. I have a tip for job seekers out there, though.
1. Keep working at your jobs for longer than 4 months.
2. Don't call in sick within the first 3 weeks of working at a new job unless you're deathly ill.
3. Never miss a shift without calling.
4. Don't ask for time off within the first 30 days of working at a new job.

Hi, Fog here. I wanted to ask.....who here remembers the Organization 13 fanfic I did for Valentines Day last year (possibly 2 years ago.)? I think Manda might, but did anyone else read it and remember what year I did it? Trying to go through the old topics to find it and having a bit of difficulty.

Good advice *nods*

EDIT: Can anyone explain to me what makes photocopying so hard? xP

My eldest sister just bugged me (mainly by standing in my door way and attempting to 'strike up' a conversion) until I finally agreed to photocopy her assignment........

This probably started when gays started to talk to the presidential candidates and they expressed dislike for the way people have to keep their personal lives secret.

Ahh...That would make sense. ^_^ I didn't hear anything about that. But then, I really don't hear about much of anything over here. Everything's kinda biased news-wise on base.
