Personality:
A spoiled brat with something akin to a God complex, Ziv can stand to be taken down a notch or two. He is loud-mouthed and inappropriate, rarely pausing to think before spewing out words, and can often be caught making tasteless comments to somebody's face. Keeping his tongue in check is a concept that is foreign to him, and he will not hesitate to insult someone if he thinks it will benefit him.
The world according to Ziv is one of rainbows and sunshine, where everybody must put up with everything he does and where consequences do not exist. He believes that he simply has to demand in order to deserve something, and that his way is the only way. Ziv lacks social skills, and seems to think that he has the right to trample over everyone else, no matter how big or how small they may be. After all, everyone else exists only to serve Ziv's purposes.
History:
Ziv was born into a small, secluded pack of hyenas made up entirely of dark-pelted dogs. It had been generations since they had seen anyone with a coat as bright and patterned as Ziv's, and because of that, they set him up on a pedestal, fairly worshiping him and attending to his every whim. They believed that he was a gift sent to them from the gods, and that their duty was to protect him and fulfill his wishes. If they were able to raise him to the gods' liking, they thought they were to be rewarded handsomely, with bountiful herds of preybeasts and fresh water.
When Ziv was an adolescent, he fell ill. The pack took this as an ominous omen, and fearing the wrath of the gods, they fled, leaving behind the territory that they had guarded for many long years. By the time Ziv recovered (from a not-so-threatening sickness, it should be noted), the pack was long gone and he was left to find his own way in the world.

Personality:
Madoc is a confident, bordering on cocky, creature whose sense of ability comes from the fact that he grew up helping his "parents" with everything. The older he got, the more he was forced to take care of his seven aging parents, which has resulted in a lion who is under the impression that he both can and must do everything for the creatures around him. He is helpful - sometimes overwhelmingly so - but more often than not, will simply claim tasks as his own without waiting to consult with anybody.
Madoc is the type that would hold open doors and carry bags for ladies (or, really, anyone for that matter), but due less to manners and politeness than to fear that if he didn't, they would accidentally let the door close on them or drop the bags. He views (unintentionally) everyone else as though they were frailer or less capable than he, and has only good intentions when he snatches simple jobs away from others.
He is quick to adapt to and deal with adversity, facing down everything with
a sunny disposition and a "Guess that's just life." The very epitome of living in the now, Madoc rarely dwells on the past or worries about the future. Here and now is what is important.
Yet, underneath that shining exterior, Madoc knows that living in the here and now is the only way he can cope with loss and change, both of which are (un-admittedly) his greatest fears. Losing someone always leaves him feeling so empty and so helpless that it is better to simply move on, rather than to mourn her.
History:
Nobody is quite sure where Madoc really came from. His first home, his birth parents, even his real name are all mysteries. He was found as a cub, lying half out of a slowly flowing stream, drenched and drained of all energy. His rescuers were an elderly couple living within a loosely formed coalition of lions consisting largely of lions past their prime. These lions had come together for protection, finding safety in numbers.
He was named Madoc, for his uncanny ability to cling to life, and taken in as a son to all of the lions, their little rising star. In the company of these aged and aging lions, Madoc grew, enjoying the love and guidance of seven parents instead of the usual two. He had few friends his own age, so he devoted much of his time attempting to master the knowledge and crafts taught to him by all seven of his moms and dads.
As he grew, the inevitable began to happen, and by the time he was midway into adolescence, the last of his parents passed away, and he was left to forge his own path.

Personality:
Conflicting expectations from his father and everyone else has left Imitiyaz with a bit of an identity crisis. To many, he can come over as lacking in personality, when in reality, he has simply developed a reflex that allows him to shift depending on the situation. He has learned to read expectations without having to hear them explicitly stated and adjust himself accordingly, resulting in a tendency to present himself differently to different audiences. Though he remains to this day a bit of a failure when it comes to almost all daily chores, he will hide or display this fact depending on who he is with. He can be outgoing or shy, intelligent or slow, cheerful or sad, but can change in the blink of an eye if placed in the company of a different lion.
These rapid changes seemed to fade for a while when Imitiyaz fell in love with a beautiful lioness and settled down, but it soon became obvious that he wasn't quite distinguished either when it came to matters such as producing children, and after many months with no results, his mate turned away, preferring to face a life without her pride than one without children.
Ever since news of her unfaithful trysts with passing rogues (and, subsequently, her exile from the pride) became known around the pride, Imitiyaz has reverted back to his old ways and is now more adrift than ever before.
History:
Imitiyaz is descended from a rather prestigious bloodline of warriors, known for its prowess where both fighting and reproducing were concerned. His father, Fereydoun, was part of a sizable litter of eleven, and blended in so well with his siblings that he was given an undistinguished name, so given for the fact that he had been born third.
Throughout his life, Fereydoun was an adequate warrior and son, by his father's standards, and so never quite stood out, despite his obvious skill when paired against anyone outside his family. When he became a father, Fereydoun sired an average litter of five - not too small, but not large enough to draw much attention either. Of the five, four were female, and Imitiyaz was the only male. Imitiyaz, it seemed, was special. So Fereydoun bestowed upon his only son a name befitting his special stature.
But as the cub grew, it became more and more obvious (to everyone but his father) that he was destined for anything but greatness. Imitiyaz was always "it" in a game of tag, and just when he would reach out to tag a fleeing victim... he would trip and tumble face-first into the sand. He would volunteer himself for a game of hide-n-seek, and just when he got on-track to discover one of his buddies... he would veer off-course and lose the scent.
Simply put, Imitiyaz was a failure, and before long, he was well-known for his inability to do anything right. The rest of the pride seemed resigned to the fact, and even his mother stopped expecting anything from him; yet, Fereydoun refused to see what was so obvious, and continued to heap upon his only son all the hopes and dreams of a proud father.

Nymeria is what one could call the best of both worlds, having inherited her father's slender frame and her mother's quiet disdain for appearances. Her long legs and streamlined body suggest that she was built for locomotion, while the graceful connection of one body part to another hint at her affinity for most physically challenging activities. Nymeria is not only active; she seems to be in constant motion at every moment of the day, and can often be found climbing her way up to or worming her way through to the most unreachable of places. She takes great pride in her agility and physical condition, often spending more energy "training" than she does on anything else.
Her endless activities have a knack for making her dirty, and it is rarely a surprise to see her more brown than she naturally is. Bathing and preening are two activities that she refuses to endorse, believing that both are the sport of prissy creatures too engrossed in their own looks to deserve to be alive. Her existence is wholly practical, and luxuries like beauty and cleanliness seem not to factor into her considerations.
Nymeria is by nature a bold and inquisitive lioness. She cares little for conventions and rules if they seek to keep her from exploring or discovering, and will not hesitate to speak out against them. Neither does mincing words sit well with her, and giving others a verbal lashing when deserved has quickly become a welcome sport for Nymeria. Her opinions, when formed, are strong and resistant to change, and the world entire will be privileged to know them should it offend her in any way.
