Personality: The baby of the family, Zhilan is used to trailing after her siblings wherever they go. In fact, she's so used to following them around that she can become very irritable whenever they sneak off without her knowledge. If she can find them again she'll whine their ear off about how it's mean not to invite her along with them. If she can't, she prone to tattling on them as pay-back for not letting her come with them. Being young, her world revolves around only around her and her needs, and she can often be seen doing things to get attention. Extremely needy, Zhilan rarely does anything on her own, and as such has grown up to be quite the scaredy cat. Sometimes even her own shadow frightens her when she's not expecting it.

Personality: A slightly eccentric, almost nerdy lion, Akhenaker lives and breathes his work. He has what he considers a healthy fascination with what once was, and has devoted his life to seeking answers to the riddles of the past. No stone is cast aside before he's had his paws on it to see if it's what he's been looking for all along. While some may consider him to be a little off his rocker, no one can deny that Akhenaker knows what he's talking about. He has an incredible memory for detail, and throws himself into his work with an unrivalled passion. Because he is so passionate about his work, however, he has a hard time relating to people who don't like what he does. He also finds it hard to take his mind out of "work mode", and thus normal conversation with him is a challenge at best. Get him talking about his work, on the other hand, and he'll talk your ear off. Even with his colleagues and those he likes, there will always be a certain amount of awkwardness about Akhenaker, as though he doesn't entirely know what to do with himself when not in the company of hieroglyphs and artefacts.
I see him as being primarily a historian, intent on learning all the secrets he can from the temple walls and any other monuments he can get his paws on. Because he is the only one in his position, however, I believe he would take on the role of teacher if the pride needed him too, however he would be reminiscent of a university professor who knows so much about certain topics that they can't help but get excited and babble on when nobody has the faintest idea what they're talking about.

Name: Kidege
Meaning: Little bird

Personality: Like her name may suggest, Kidege is a very talkative young lioness. She loves being around others and would spend all of her time chatting it up with her fellow lionesses if she did not have work to do. Still, she has always been able to multitask, and is a constant source of pride gossip and entertainment. Light-hearted and easy-going, she takes everything that comes her way in stride. Very little seems to bother this lioness, especially when it comes to daily life. When times are dark, however, you can count on Kidege to be calm in a crisis and stand firm when you need the support. Her loyalty is unwavering, especially to those lionesses that she grew up with, and she would willingly give her life to protect her pride despite her ranking as Nje Ya. Just as rainbows follow storms, Kidege always tries to keep everyone thinking of the good times ahead, rather than dwelling on the bad times.
Despite her colouration, Kidege was born in the pride to a pair of outsider parents. As was the custom, she was taken before the Judges as a blood member and raised in the amphitheatre. She spent her youth training with the rest of lionesses under the Elder Hunters, living the normal life of her age and gender. Her life was filled with the usual sorts of adventures, from botched up hunting practice to youthful pranks. Needless to say, there wasn't anything particularly tragic about her life, though at the time she may have thought that some things were so. As an adult, she chose to take the ranking of her parents, and rejoined them as a Nje ya. She currently spends her time in honourable service of those who can put her skills to use.
