"Let us be done with tears, Love. Tonight we are blessed to have found each other! Let us be at peace." She spoke with grace and quiet charm. She had been well educated in her youth, that she might rule her clan with eloquence and presence of mind. She stroked Draelde's shoulder and gently led him to the spot she had fallen to her knees in the snow. The cold did not bother her and the night was filled with the peaceful silence only winter provided. "I want your company now, please, speak to me. Tell me tales of your adventures! You know what heights I have achieved. Tell me of your life without me!" Her words had a hint of sadness, but she disallowed regret to penetrate here. She sat in the snow, motioning for him to join her in this clearing beneath the moon's gentle light.

Draelde melted at her touch, and the tears stopped flowing.
"Indeed my love we are blessed to have this night together."
He followed her and sat beside her. He then turned and scooped her up and settled her rump in his lap, holding her in his arms, she was so soft and warm. He smiled.
"Do you know how long I have craved to do just this. To hold you in my arms?"
He looked into those beautiful sparkling eyes and smiled.
"For years I have been a rogue, living in the shadows, and watching. I've been chased and attacked, but I've never lost. Even your protectors have tried to kill me. Wondering why I was found lurking near their elders quarters. I lied and stated I was an assassin. I could never let them know that I was in love with a succubus, let alone their elder. This is what I have done for these years. But enough of the past. I want to know what this glorious night holds for us. I have dreamed of it so many times, and every time I hear the soft jingle of the anklet you gave me all of those years ago I think of you. So my dear, what is it you'd like to do this night?"
He smiled, for the first time in years he felt his heart truly beating again, and a warmth once again fill him.

"I just want to hear your voice. This night is fleeting and on the marrow I must return to my clan and my responsibilities. But the evenings, they are mine. Meet me here again tomorrow night and the next. The nights shall be ours and beneath the gentle blessings of the Moon our love shall flourish. This will be our meeting place." The words spilled from her before she knew what she meant to say but as she spoke the desire in her grew. She was determined to see him again. She would lead two lives, one in the day and another in the night and never could one life entwine with the other. She sighed at this paradox. She wanted to parade her love through her clan's house, but could never even whisper his name in those halls. She was a succubus, and she must remind herself of it.

Draelde held her close and closed his eyes as he listened. He would happily lead this 'double life' as long as a part of it had her in it. He smiled, "My darling I would do anything to have you as a part of my life. This will be our place. Each night I will be here waiting for you in the shadows. When I see you in the light I will come to you. Don't try to find me in case your followed. I will make sure we are alone before I come to you. Our secret will never get out." His eyes were full of sincerity and the warmth of life that they had not held in may years. His voice was soft and smooth and warm as he spoke, it was as if life had been reborn in him this night. He moved just enough so that she could see that he still wore the anklet she had given him all those years ago. "I still wear it as a reminder of you. The soft sweet sound it makes when I walk reminds me you are always in my heart. I will let you know I am here as I assure our solitude by the sound it makes." He leaned in and gently kissed her cheek as he held her close, taking in her soft scent. She seemed so small in his arms as he laid her head on his chest just to feel her close.

She allowed herself to sink into him, surrounded by him. She felt drunk on his presence, her head swimming. She felt a freedom she'd never known before. None would judge her here. No one could ever know how she appeared here. Grinning, she lifted her head and looked into Draelde's eyes and kissed his lips softly. Pulling away, she stood, mischief in her blank eyes. She danced away from him, twirling in the small clearing as the snow began to fall. She flapped her wings, sending the fluffy white flakes swirly around her wildly. She laughed, purely joyful. She looked to Draelde and reached down, taking him by the hands and pulled him to his feet to dance with her.

He rose quickly to his feet to follow her gentle pull. He danced with her then swiftly slid his hands around her waist and lifted her and swung her around. The two twirled as the snow fell like glittering confetti celebrating their secret union. He slowed their twirling and stood before her, hands still on her waist as he leaned down to kiss her. He smiled, this was the perfect place, their place. And no one and nothing could take that from him.

No thing or person could have drawn Kalrana away, however the sun's rays peeking over the horizon warned her that the magical night had ended and it was time to be cast back into the shackles of her life of propriety and deception. She sighed, looking into Draelde's eyes. "I will see you again tomorrow night?" Her voice betrayed her vulnerability. She feared this was their last meeting, her last bit of joy. It was true that she loved her life and all the comforts she enjoyed, but with no one else was she so free. She kissed him deeply, then broke from him suddenly. She assumed her practiced air and perpetually seductive posture and turned to leave him. She did not wish to say goodbye, so she left without a word, hopeful to continue the following evening.

Draelde reached out and grabbed her arm and kissed her deeply one last time and whispered in her ear, "I love you Kal. I will be here for you tomorrow night my love. And every night after." He watched her turn and walk away wanting this night never to end, but alas the sun was rising and a warm pink hue was beginning to fill the forest. He quickly waved his hand and a silence once again surrounded him as he disappeared off into the shadows. ------------------------------------------------- Anwen wandered through the woods, contemplating the tasks of her clan for the day. She liked to walk to the woods to see the sun rising and think about the day ahead. She felt that those few minutes of quiet and gathering her thoughts before she began her day helped her gather her thoughts and be a better leader to her people. As she wandered she heard distant foot steps and paused. She stood perfectly still hand on her dagger waiting to see what waited in the woods for her.

Borael was quick to awaken as he felt a sharp pressure against his side and heard a light 'oomph' as something fell to the ground near him. He didn't notice his sorroundings immediately, but realized he must not be at home when he steadied himself on a nearby rock. The events of the previou snight returned to him quickly, and he soon remembered the sad fact that he was completely lost... There was, however, one distraction from this sad turn of events. Another Fae had apparently tripped over him and was lying on the ground. He faintly remembered her saying something close to 'sorry', so responded in his most polite manner. "Not at all, my lady. It is my fault for sleeping in such an open space with no regard for the safety of travelers such as yourself!" He offered her a hand and bowed deeply. "My name is Borael. May I be so honored as to know yours?"

In her haste to put distance between herself and her dark secret she almost didn't notice the other presence in the woods. She froze and instantly sent her magic ahead of her to learn the nature of this presence. She cocked her head to the side, unable to determine its identity. It was a powerful fae, one on par with herself. She proceeded slowly, aware that this one knew of her presence. She slipped in behind the fae silently, to peek between the trees. Ah! It was Anwen! A smile stole Kalrana's features as she fearlessly approached her friend and fellow clan Elder. She allowed her footfalls to make noise, respectfully announcing her approach. "Dear friend!" she called, "Good morning!"

Etain walked through the woods, she had so many times she could walk them blindfolded. She was on her way to the pond, and hummed happily on her way. As she walked around a rock, suddenly she pitched forward as her foot struck something oddly soft. She fell narrowly missing the rock and landed upside down in the sand. She opened ehr eyes and was looking upside down at what she'd tripped on. It had been a male fae. She blushed and righted herself still sitting in the sand as she tried to brush it out of her fur. "I'm sorry." She said shyly, "I didn't see you there."

Anwen turned finally realizing who it was. She relaxed and stood up straight again no longer ready to grab her dagger. She ran over to her friend and smiled. "What's got you so chipper this morning Kal?"

Kalrana fidgeted slightly-an uncharacteristic move. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other, looking at the ground. She seemed to be weighing something. Finally she brought her white eyes to meet Anwen's stare. "I have been with Draelde," she said softly, the words carrying the weight of the implications.

Anwen stared at her comrade throughly confused at her fidgetey nature. Draelde? Had she heard her right? "Oh Kal that is wonderful!" She hugged her friend showing her enthusiasm openly, "How did it go? How did you bump into eachother?"
