Smith and his men charged through the front door and directly into the factory. many of the enemy soldiers had their backs towards them, excellent. Smith's men opened up, killing two of the soldiers on the floor and one on the catwalks before they turned around in the confusion and returned fire, still wide open to the soldiers in front.
A soldier on the floor had his back pressed to the pillar he was using for cover. He held a weapon with a simply unnatural amount of parts, including a curvy, wooden stock, a trigger and a lever action. That's where things stopped being normal. There was a piece that looked like the hammer, but it seemed way too thin a piece of metal and it was coiled. Beyond that were a few switches on top, another cocking piece (or so it looked) on the left side, a small tank and a few gauges on the right side connected to bits of intricate, copper tubing leading to the underside of the weapon. Another, smaller tank was placed just a little further up the weapon. Opposite the tank, on the left side was some sort of...crank, and many more tubes along with a thinner, longer tank a little more up the body of the weapon. The upper half of the weapon was mostly copper. Atop the body, right next to the tank, was yet another tank built into the top of the weapon with a smoky glass tub projecting from it's rear. Directly following the tank was a strange, copper sphere raised slightly above the other parts with something like an antennae coming from the top and a small, T-4 1/2 light bulb connected to the front.
The base of the barrel had two, T-10 light bulbs projecting from the top. The barrel itself was relatively simple, consisted of metal with copper pipes running along it and a small tube running underneath the base of the barrel. The end was what was so interesting, as it coned out with three, thin, steel rings connected to the barrel only by metal rods with the barrel itself coning out to about half-way through the rings.

The soldier opened fire with the ridiculous weapon, launching a large spread of small projectiles towards the soldiers as they dove behind cover.

A soldier, at first glance appearing to be a steamer, came from the right of the pillar, wielding some sort of perforated sword with the very same tank on his back as the throwers. A tube connected the blade to the tank.
He squeezed the handle as he swung, steam and boiling water flowed from the pores on the blade as it cut for the nearest soldier.

A soldier in the left booth appeared in the window holding a single-shot rifle as he took aim for the new arrivals.

Cindy and Mark dropped two more soldiers on the catwalks in their scramble for better cover.

Gwen swallowed, set her jaw, and looked carefully around and through the confusion to see if she could pick anyone off without endangering people from her side. She didn't trust her aim that much.

The soldier attacked with the Steamblade did a quick roll; his enemy was carrying a heavy weapon and would not be able to change directions quickly, nor could he probably move the weapon with full freedom, as it was attached to his back - probably not particularly effective overall. As he came up, he leveled his handgun, firing for the chest and tanks.

The man in charge of the forces Juliet stood with made his opinion on the matter clear by letting out a roar and opening fire from behind without leaving cover - hopefully the shock would surprise the opponents enough to make them easy prey. Juliet opened fire on one of the troops in the booth, attempting to knock out the people with cover first.

Smith took it upon himself to eliminate the target with the Blunderbuss, retrieving his massive sniper rifle. It still looked almost like a normal one in his hands. He focused the scope on where the man had taken cover, awaiting a chance to take a potshot and hopefully take his head off.

The blade made contact with the ground with a loud clunk. The first few bullets contacted the tanks, but failed to puncture them. The soldier began to turn, swinging the blade upwards to retaliate. He dropped the weapon as three bullets tore into his chest and killed him.
From the others side came another Steamer in the process of pulling the trigger.

The troops and Alastair began to lay down suppressing fire on the left booth and Juliet planted a bullet in the exposed solder's shoulder, causing his shot to go wild as he fell back into cover.
"Anyone have a grenade?" Alastair asked over the gunfire.

Seeing as the Blunderbuss user was behind no cover, he suffered from a sudden case of missing head and dropped his weapon to the ground.

The soldiers on the catwalks had managed to take cover, but a single soldier was still in the open, firing upon Smith's men at the entrance with an automatic rifle.

One rifleman and two blunderbuss users rose from the right booth and opened fire on the soldiers in the rear.

The officer had moved from the bridge and further onto the catwalk and maneuvered himself behind the group of Smith's soldiers in the rear of the factory and fired a shot from his railway rifle, impaling the soldier in charge of the group through the leg.

Gwen didn't do anything, as the GM hadn't updated her for TWO POSTS IN A ROW waited for an opening.

Gwen realized her ignorance of the fact that there was a blatant opening RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER and got shot it the FACE got ready to fire on the completely exposed soldier that had his back to her.

The soldiers with Juliet turned to face the threat - almost all of them did, intent on defending themselves from the biggest threat. They opened fire with a blistering wall of lead, and failing that, they prepared to grenade the opposing force with whatever they had. Those who were not focusing on that either focused on taking care of the injured man, or in the case of one of them, produced a steam grenade and hurled it into the booth, hopefully clearing it out for Juliet and Alastair to occupy. Juliet prepared to occupy it.

Smith changed his aim to the next man in the open, hopefully afflicting him with the same condition, then moving to attack the next unfortunate on the catwalk, slowly picking them off as he could.

The soldiers in the front, then, focused on the remaining booth. They continued to fire as much ammo as they could in order to keep their opponents down.

The soldiers within the booth attempted to return fire, but failed to do so, being continually held behind cover by the hail of bullets that were coming their way.
Incoherent yelling came from within the booth as the grenade glided through the window. One of the soldiers attempted to climb out of the window only to be mowed down by bullets followed by steam as the grenade went off inside. Guttural screams of pain could be heard coming from within the large cloud of steam.

One of the soldiers had managed to remove the spike from their officer's leg and then, with the help of a female soldier, helped carry him to the move, directly behind Juliet and Alastair and tailed by the remaining soldier.

They had just about made it to the booth when the tailing soldier was gunned down. The others rushed into the booth and took cover.
The female with them braced herself against the window while the man looked over the officer's leg.

And as such, the exposed soldier found himself with a gaping hole in his abdomen. Followed immediately by another through the back of his head, fired by Gwen only moments after Smith.

Smith, being the large target he was, took a few bullets to his extremities from blind fire coming from the remaining booth.

The soldiers up front were forced to dive out of the way as the Steamer sprayed his steam in a wide arc.

It was only the officer and another soldier up in the catwalks now and three soldiers in the remaining booth.

Gwen looked momentarily sheepish, then shot the GM in the kneecap for pointing out her mistake in front of everybody swallowed again, trying to ignore the very unpleasant feelings brought on by the guttural screaming from the booth, then turned to look at Cindy and tried to catch her eye. If she managed to do so, she planned to indicate that she wanted to go down and help the injured officer; she had a fair amount of medical training, and if somebody didn't do something about that leg quickly, he was going to... Well... somebody had to fix it.

Gwen caught Cindy's eye. Cindy nodded and gestured for Gwen to go ahead. Gwen climbed down to be met by Mark assisting her. Gwen explained what she was doing and Mark nodded, "Alright, just stay to my side."

He wrapped his arm across her shoulders and led her out the door, cautious of the remaining enemies. Luckily, they were being pinned by an assault of ammunition. He ducked, forcing Gwen to do the same, and ran to the booth Juliet had recently captured.

Juliet and the troops with her focused their fire on the remaining booth, engaging in what amounted to an ordinary firefight.

Smith, slightly injured but realizing the danger, kept focusing on the soldiers on the catwalks, particularly on the officer, even though he was a distance away.

The frontal soldiers, as they were extremely close to the Steamer, made to shoot him dead with minimum effort.

The opposing booth returned fire as the Juliet, Alastair, and the others took cover to reload. Juliet found herself using her last clip, and Alastair found himself down to one.

Smith tore down the accompanying soldier on the catwalks and sent another round through the officer's shoulder, knocking him to the ground.

Smith's men undoubtedly mowed down the foolish steamer.

Gwen grimly obeyed, trying to keep herself as low as possible while simultaneously trying not to slow Mark down. This was the closest she'd been to any male who wasn't her brother, and normally she would have been blushing furiously and losing her ability to speak. She was, however, currently in full pragmatism mode, and barely noticed the contact at all. There were upsides to being in the middle of a bloody battle!

Juliet slapped the magazine in, then made a quick decision and slung it over her shoulder, drawing her Five-seveN. Anachronistic or not, it had a larger magazine than the other pistol she'd been given - twenty rounds was enough here, though. The enemies might not reload, but Juliet needed a grenade. "Do we have another grenade?" she asked.

Smith aimed for the booth now, sufficiently confident the officer was disabled enough to let alone.

The other soldiers now turned to the booth, preparing to mow down those inside however necessary.

Gwen knelt beside the injured man, the other soldiers were doing their best to take care of him, the had removed the spike and were attempting to clean and cover the wound, a large, almost fist-sized hole in his mid-thigh.

One of the soldiers within the booth fell to the sudden onslaught of gunfire. The remaining two had managed to duck below cover.
None of the soldiers with Juliet had grenades.

Smith waved two soldiers forward and they naturally obeyed, carefully making their way to the booth.
The first soldier ducked into the booth only to be nearly vaporized by a wall of buckshot from the Blunderbuss.
The second soldier pulled out her handgun and held it into the room without exposing much more than her hand and forearm.
She emptied her clip rapidly, reloaded, checked, and repeated.

"Clear!" she called.

Smith had a nagging feeling that he should take care to finish the enemy officer quickly.
