Garret turned around with his own plate, which he obviously took less care to arrange. The eggs had popped and the toast was mushy and a pile of bacon was nearly falling off the plate. "Of you course it is, how vain would I be if I made a smiley face for myself? At least while you're here and could witness it." Garret chuckled as he took a bite of the toast, he knew he was vain, the point was that he didn't like others to think that way...It ruined his charm.
Garret plopped the plate at the seat across from Brandt and sat down, hunched over his food he began to shovel it into his mouth. Brandt was the only person Garret ever let see his impromptu side, everyone else was aware only of the gentleman with manners to his eyeballs.
Moving a mouthful of food to one side of his cheek he started talking to Brandt, "So, did you know Hana is going to try to rid me from this world...not just me but all Enamids? Did you know this? Its the first time I heard about it and apparently she is leaving soon for some grand quest to kill us all. Personally I have a problem with this." Garret was kind of rambling but he was somewhat nervous. He wanted to follow Hana and stop her at any length, however he was worried about what Brandt would say.
What if Brandt wanted him to disappear? It had to have crossed his mind a few times in their lives what with Garret being the way he was and causing problems for Brandt. Garret didn't want to think that his twin would like it better if he were not here, probably because Brandt was the only person in this world that Garret had any strong emotion for.
....
Garret wanted to stop her, but he could not do it if it meant leaving Brandt behind. He was stalling, he didn't want to ask the question. So, he tried to lead into it, "She's crazy right? I mean that's like mass genocide....right?" Garret hid the urgency in his voice, his need to know Brandt's answer was like an itch in an uncomfortable place you cant reach.

Brandt laughed at what a mess Garret's dinner was. his twin could so easily make him laugh, and had his won ways of brightening his day when he was being reasonable. "be that as it may, you could have at least kept the quality of your cooking up." he said, pointing to Garret's mushy toast with his food-loaded fork.
He continued to eat and looked up interested when garret mentioned Hanna's 'quest'. It was bizarre, but he never had really understood that girl. At the mention of the possibility of ending enemids he immediately dropped his eyes down to his food, but couldn't help frowning slightly as he tried to keep his thoughts to himself. He felt the weight of his silence drag on as he personally mused, feeling bad for Garret at not being able to offer an immediate answer. Luckily for him garret rambled on enough to give him some time. the thought of a life without Garret - or rather, his enamid if he was going to be emotionless about this - had certainly crossed his mind. his twin's existance and nature were a constant source of shame for him because ut represented the ills of his own personality - of desires he wanted firmly hidden. Enamids were always the topic of gossip because they laid the Sol's soul bare for ridicule. furthermore garret had a habit of making his life difficult. That said, Garret's creation was a cross only Brandt had to bear - it wasn't Garret's fault he was created any more than it's a baby's fault it was born. And, after all, despite his flaws Brandt loved his twin like a brother - even closer than a brother. he wouldn't ever trade a little release of shame for a lifetime of fun and company, and the thought of Garret dissapearing off the face of the earth - or worse, being hurt- was absolutely abhorrent. Perhaps he would have supported Hana if her quest meant that no more new enamids were created, but to be rid of the old ones too? That was murder.
he finally looked up as Brandt spoke of genocide and was met fully with a look of fear and vulnerability in Garret's eyes. Suddenly, as his heart swelled with a powerful sense of protectiveness and pity, the answer became very very clear.
"You're right, that is genocide." he said, freely scowling now in disgust at the thought.

Hana woke up. After a few hours of packing she had passed out on her floor, she stood quickly so that no one would unexpectedly walk through the door and find her in this embarrassing position.
She grabbed her one bag and slung it over her shoulder. It was about the size of a large purse, with an odd silken fabric the changed colors throughout the day, like some strange morphing tie-dye. It was an enchanted bag that could fit the contents of a small house within its folds without getting heavier or larger. Hana had received this as a gift on her 16th birthday from a very eccentric Aunt who thought that a girl at 16 needs a bag that is in style every year and can hold all of the things a woman needs to be prepared for the world.
Hana shook her head with a smile, little did the Aunt know her gift would be used in such a way. Hana had her clothes packed and the books she kept at her home all hidden within the bag. Walking out the door she kicked a compartment on her desk and out flung her ancient scroll. The bag had two secret compartments only the owners know about, Hana hid the scroll in one of these.
She left the house, not yet ready to depart on her journey. First, she had to go around town to all her little hideaway spots and retrieve her other books and maps and scrolls. Hana had to have all these secret spots so that Anah would not steal and hide her precious items. That darn Enamid loved to find and take Hana's things to show that she was more clever that she figured out Hana's mind and riddles.
Hana fumed, her face turning pink with anger and embarrassment. She slammed the door closed and stepped out onto the green lawn in the bright daylight, and stormed across town.

"Shall we go?" Adrian suggested, again happily giving the orders."It's a fair walk, but nothing too strenuous. Maybe half an hour or so away, ok?"
He looked her up and down;. she seemed such a pampered and fragile little thing, he doubted that she had done a day's proper work in her life, and he wondered if she was up to even this standard stroll. A little well of resentment grew again at her family's affluence, but it wasn't sufficiently large enough to catch his attention. he instead marched ahead to outside, expecting her to follow, as if having made the decision for her.
once he was outside and outside of her parent's earshot he also put forward what was interesting him.
"Hey...your parents - are they enamid too?" he asked, not wanting to be too rude as some found it a sore subject, but wanting an answer anyway
