How can one go about being initiated as a witch independently, nd if you cant do that where is there a coven for me to be initiated and pledge and oath. to be a witch
....
Well witches in general don't require initiation. You can be a witch regardless of your religion.

Wicca is a specific type of religious witchcraft that does require initiation before one can participate and requires a coven to practice Wicca.

In short, All Wicca are witches
Not all witches are Wicca.

Not all witches are Wiccans. What about Wicca attracts you?

What do those holidays mean to you?
What kinds of spells do you have an interest in?
Can you tell us a bit about the history that you mentioned?

It means to me that, i can connect a little bit more.
Luck,healing,banishing,beauty,protection spells.
I cant say much about the history because i havnt, read alot into it yet, but i do is that modern witchcraft started with Gerald Gardner. And that pagans date back to roman christianity.

How do those things help you connect and what do they connect you to? I ask this for some insight on what the Sabbaths mean to you.

I may be off but I think modern witchcraft pre-dates Gardner though he did create a witchcult that is butchered by many Neo-Pagan authors. I'm sure someone here will correct me. You might want to check out Triumph of the Moon for a good starting point for Neo-Pagan history.

Pagans (Gentiles) existed before the Hebrew religions which pre-dates Christianity. The term "pagan" being used to describe non-Christians and non-Jews arose so Christians, who were mostly Gentiles themselves, could distinguish themselves from other Gentiles.

I'm not really seeing anything that is about Wicca.
There are lots of modern pagan religions that celebrate the Wheel of the Year, have magic and spellwork and share a similar history, give or take a decade.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is- Why Wicca? Why not Feri, Reclaiming, Strega, Standing Stone or something else?

I know that feeling. I'm a Seeker- and lots of stuff that draw other people to the religion doesn't make a lot of sense to me yet.

Maybe it would help to keep seeking? It may turn out the things that you like aren't part of Wicca at all.

I'm not even initiated, and I'm studying a LOT. Wiccans end up studying a lot, because there's a lot of work to do in order to be in the best place to receive the Mysteries.
