 Generally Yanamari is a sweet and well tempered mare who loves to talk to others, make new friends and just enjoy life. But under that sweet exterior lies a blackness, all thanks to her Kalona blood - something which she highly resents. This darker part of her comes out every now and then, forcing her to lash out at those she would normally call friends, speak badly about everyone around her and sometimes do things she later regrets. Anyone who mentions her Kalona blood will see how much it hurts her, often having her shut herself off to them as a way to avoid the unpleasantness that she feels towards that and her father who was a Kalona.

 Yanamari’s past is something that she hides from everyone she meets. Her creation was from an unfortunate night. Her mother, a pure Kirin, had been captured by a vicious Kalona stallion who then forced her to carry his foals. However when the foals did not fit into his life he left, though he took one as his personal minion, leaving Yanamari alone with her mother. A large majority of her foalhood was spent hiding from others. She was considered a freak among the others. Her Kalona features made her undesired to any herd, for they feared what she may do. Never did the give her a chance to prove she was not like her features said she was.
And so, once an adult she broke away from her mother, who had never ever recovered from that time with the Kalona. Yanamari often wonders what became of her mothers but knows that the mare is better off without her daughter at her side. For a while she searched for those who would accept her, to see her for who she truly was, a kind and somewhat shy mare. Most ran her off, calling her a monster, threatening to kill her is she returned. Now knowing she would never be accepted Yanamari kept to herself even more, anyone she met she would instantly fear because of her past. She often even refuses to fly as it only reminds her, as well as shows off to others, her Kalona blood. Instead she remains ground bound as often as possible, only relying on her wings to get her across dangerous terrain.
However the one thing she never expected to have happen was to meet someone who would accept her as she was. This came in the form of a stallion named Cian Allistair. Even after a terrible morning when her Kalona blood kicked in and she attacked him Cian has stayed by her side. This has been a major change in Yanamari’s life and has made the mare slightly more confident in things. She still fears strangers, however, but is taking steps to overcome these fears. With Cian’s help she is certain this will happen. And even more shocking is that they have started to grow feelings for one another, whether they become anything serious is still unknown, but Yanamari is quite happy with her life right now.
