However there is never enough free time to do everything you want to do...

There is a such thing as writing too much but it's not really applicable here. If you've read Atlas Shrugged for example, sometimes there is too much written. As in, too much padding or filler. A lot of lengthy books could reasonable be cut down. Although the reason many were long is because they were paid by the word.

But that's not entirely relevant here.
