IM ENTERING FOR THE LIONESS!! GIMME PIRATE BOOTY! Name: Lavida’Dealta Meaning: The high life (Spanish) Personality: Lavida is a girl who knows how to take care of herself, and she doesn’t want you to forget it! She’s tough, and she certainly doesn’t want any help from a MALE. It’s not that Lavida looks down on males, she’s just out to prove to everyone that she doesn’t need one in order to get things done. And she was doing a decent job of it before that pink-maned lion showed up.
Recently, since the male joined, Lavida has been one giant mess of crazy. Her mood shifts wildly when he’s around, and she makes no effort to control it. She can be calm one minute and spitting mad the next once he shows up, or moping about how he ignores her. Lavida’s only distraction is the one goal she’s had even before the male joined - becoming a crew member. She’s never been fond of the life of a Corsair, a position that seems to solely cater to the needs of the males. As long as she’s plotting her raid to impress the others, she seems to have her head together. But as soon as that male enters the mix, her state of mind is shot. It will take a very patient friend or lover to finally draw her out of this cycle… Lavida seems unlikely to snap out of it anytime soon.
On normal days, Lavida is a bright, energetic girl with a leader-type personality but the sense to know she should follow. At heart, she just wants to be one of the boys. She loves the fermented fruit and acts quite bawdy when she’d had too much of it, but it’s all just for show, it seems. She’s never had a lover in the pride and she doesn’t intend to get one, IF she has a say in it. Perhaps she’s just been lucky none of the males seem interested in her, especially now that she’s considered crazy.
Prompt Response: Lavida wasn’t always a pirate lioness. Not many years ago, she was a rogue, wandering and hunting for herself out in open land. Life was hard for her, and she barely got by on her own. So she was delighted one evening to meet up with a black lion who seemed willing to share her company, and his food. She was very young then - only just an adult, still innocent about the ways of the world. When the mood of the night turned into lust, she was completely infatuated. After their first night they spent a few weeks together, hunting and talking, and he didn’t seem to mind her head-over-heels crush on him. Naturally, Lavida thought it was more than just a fling, naïve as she was. But one night he left to go hunting and never came back.
At first, Lavida thought something had happened. But she eventually figured it out, and became very sore about it as time passed. In her mind it was already blown way out of proportion; he had been her first love and she’d been abandoned. Even if she knew deep down this wasn’t so, her bitterness kept her from seeing the truth of it. By the time she found the pirates, she was a bit older and more pragmatic. She’d been on her own for a long time, but she saw safety in numbers, and so she joined them.
And then things got more complicated. Not long after she joined, HE showed up. The black, pink-maned lion she’d had her fling with years ago. As soon as she got the chance she confronted him, demanding to know why he’d left her, and wanting to know if he still felt something. But he didn’t, and although he did remember her, his response wasn’t good enough for her. With the scars of an old hurt now reopened by a second rejection, Lavida now began to spend all her time tormenting this male in a love/hate sort of way. She clearly wants his attention and affection, but when he spurns her she gets very upset and often hostile. All she’s so far succeeded in doing is earning herself a reputation among the pride as a crazy girl. For the time being, it seems, she’s very set in her ways, but only time will tell if/when she gets over him and moves on to something… healthier.

IM ENTERING FOR THE CHEETAH MALE!! GIMME PIRATE BOOTY! Name: Dakarai Meaning: Rejoice Personality: Headstrong and more than a little brash, Dakarai is often the first to jump into any situation that promises to be interesting. Despite being an incorrigible klepto, he has a strong set of morals. One of which is a sort of chivalry. He's a bit of a ladies man, and considers females to be the most beautiful things in all of creation. As such, he believes that those that cannot protect themselves should be protected by others.
Prompt Response: Dakarai was the only cub born to his parents (er... of the pairing of his mother and father anyway. He might have some half-siblings on his daddy's side) and was spoiled absolutely rotten. Instead of being punished for swiping any shinies he found, his father would praise and reward him for his skill. Thankfully, this at least encouraged him at an early age to hand over any booty to his superiors. Because of the kindness he was treated with by his mother, he grew up loving and respecting the women in his life. So when some upstart lion outsider went and kidnapped an innocent cheetah from her home, he was absolutely enraged. After stalking the male for some time, he found a window of opportunity to visit the maiden alone. He immedately swore, on his life, that he would see her freed from the clutches of the sinister lion (Dakarai is a tad melodramatic...). At the given time, he has only a platonic love for her... but that might change as he finds himself more and more involved in her rescue.
