The Birth of SOLDIER (BC)

Ragger fought well, his style meshing with Freyr's as they were both similar. Ragger tried to maneuver behind the larger chimera to exploit the fact that he wouldn't be able to see him as well. His naginata blurred and spun quickly, adding force to his blows as he danced with both opponents. He quickly started grinning, enjoying the exercise he felt like he'd been missing for weeks now.

Freyr's smile also broadened, and he pressed the attack. Always manuevering around so that Ragger never reached the vantage he wanted. He knew that Sephiroth would not be too keen to slip behind him again, and reinforced that idea by kicking a few glancing blows in the youth's direction. Freyr's speed matched Ragger's and their styles were so startlingly similar that they would have been nearly identical if both men had been human. What Freyr lacked in manueverability and agility he more than made up for in solidity and weight. Pressing the advantage where-ever he could and driving both his opponents to encumber one another more often than not.

Sephiroth found himself becoming somewhat strained. It made little sense as to how, now that Freyr had two opponents, he seemed to be getting better. It was most likely that he was trying to show off to his 'friend' that didn't seem so very friendly at the moment. He felt himself slowing slightly, barely avoiding things that should have been mile-wide misses. Unfortunately for him, he felt no need to show off, or prove himself to this newcomer, and he almost started pulling his mind back into himself, before one of Freyr's attacks again forced him out of it. There was quite a bit of movement going on, forcing him to absorb it all and move accordingly. It almost made the teen wish for a longer sword.

Ragger was a bit frustrated that Freyr seemed to be manipulating them both so well. It was time to take this fight up a notch... He waited until just the right moment when it seemed the chimera was distracted, then he launched himself upwards, breaking his first limit as he spun, then came back down with an arrow of lightning on the tip of his spear, pointed almost directly down. He held back only a little, since he didn't want to seriously hurt his friend.

Freyr glanced just in time to see Ragger launching at him, planting his paws firmly on the ground he spun his hooves around lashing at Sephiroth in the same movement to throw the youth off-balance. His timing was good, but he'd noticed Ragger a little belatedly and a singed gash on his flank bore tribute to the slender human's speed. Not one to be out-done Freyr lunged forward driving the flat of his glaive into Ragger's unprotected side. This was a battle for bruises and shallow cuts, and Freyr was more than willing to give better than he got.

Sephiroth stepped back quickly, catching himself akwardly compared to his previous movements. There was no doubt now that the silver haired SOLDIER was getting tired. He contemplated leaving the two to their own battle, but the lure of maybe just once being able to catch Freyr off guard pushed him on. He avoided getting near Ragger and watched for spots that seemed like they wouldn't be noticed until too late if he struck there. However, the chimera was still more adept than he wanted to assume.

Ragger smiled inwardly, the boy seemed to be picking up speed, though he didn't know how much longer he'd last, still, he intended to give every bit as good as he got. His polearm whirled, the speed of it's movements increasing the power of his impacts. He focused on keeping Freyr busy, trying to take as much of his attention as he could, and striking out to shallowly cut, or bruise the chimera whenever he slipped and left a momentary oppening. It seemed they were both at the top of their game, and it'd been a long time since they'd duelled like this, but two against one was a bit trickier, and would hopefully give him the edge he needed to beat his comrade.

The Battle continued for some time, advantage never really leaning to any one side, Freyr and Ragger settled more and more into their own fighting styles until they both became a blurr, the ground became lightly flecked with blood from the many shallow scratches inflicted on one another, until finally it became evident they were both tiring, nearly an hour had passed from the start of the match, Freyr and Ragger both slowed gauging carefully reserving their strengths and testing each others weaknesses, but the Victor took all of them by surprise, as their strength began to wane neither of them paid as much attention to the flustered youth trying to hold his own. and a number of minutes and blows later Sephiroth was the only one left standing, Freyr and Ragger both lay panting on the ground muttering about the unusual outcome,

"Huff... huff... well... he's... pretty good eh?" Freyr panted grinning across at Ragger's prone form, "More than we thought... kinda sly... heh ... It's good for his training for him to win once in a while!" Freyr proclaimed with a teasing chuckle for his older freind.

Sephiroth was completely tired out by the whole thing. He was surprised at himself by what had happened, but he knew it was only because the other two had been so intent on beating each other and not him. However, he stayed standing, wanting to at least relish in the idea that he had just beaten two people who were obviously older than he. After all, the silver haired boy was just a teenager. But... normal sixteen year olds shouldn't have been able to do the things that he could, even with intense training. What was it that made him so different? His hair color, his eyes, his skill...it was as if he wasn't human.

"Kid's got some fight in him, seems we let our gaurd down. Gast... was right... about him." He panted. The looked over at him, "Just give me a moment, to fight off the pain, and I'll finish you off." He said jokingly at Freyr, then chuckled, breaking down into a wince of pain the movements caused. "Oh..."

"Not if I get you first!" Freyr mocked with a grin, unsheathing the claws on one paw and slowly inching that limb towards Ragger. "Behold my multi-limb-jitsu!" He snickered though that quickly turned into a hiss from the pain of his bruises.  

[Saerenna]

Sephiroth, figuring that they'd be fine, turned around and went to where their things were. He started stretching tiredly, not wanting his muscles to seize up after that long, taxing fight. Then he found a comfortable spot to sit, and did so, watching the two... friends with an emotionless, tired expression.

"Multi-limbed flopsu more like, besides, I've got a knife in my boot, I could throw it at you before you could multi-whatever you're way over here." He said, his breathing starting to normalize, though the soreness was still mostly debilitating.

Freyr grinned broadly, "Not if I wriggle!!" Came his painfully mischeivious reply, true to his words he began a whole-body worm-like motion, inching his claws closer to the fiery haired human, "Heh heh... attack of teh chimera!" He snickered past his wheezing,
