Nkera leaned forward without even realizing, still growling quietly. The brown cheetah’s attitude was nearly unbearable but he remained firmly in place, somewhat pleased by the fact that the rogues were moving to the other side of the river. He wished he could’ve given a few of them a lesson but they had barely crossed the border and this kind of trespassing didn’t really warrant a severe punishment in his eyes. Especially when some of them were simply regular lions. He didn’t even bother to say another word and instead just kept his gaze on each rogue in turns as they went back to the other side of the water.
----------------------
“Herds belong to the lands they cross, idiot.” Baise said bluntly, her uninterested gaze shifting to the other cheetah. Blue! From head to tail. How unusual. Rogues really did come in every shape and size. Her gaze flickered to herd and back at the rogue group, looking much less confrontational now that most of them were backing away. She almost chuckled at the way a lot of the male lions were still dripping water and had their manes sticking to their heads in a very amusing way. At least she thought so. Clearly, the adolescent was already in relaxation mode again.

Morag sighed as she joined the group, proud of her pride for having fended off the rogues and capture them. She hadn't made across the river fast enough to join the fray herself, but it looked like it hadn't really been needed. Now that she was here well... it didn't look like there was much for her to do.
Relaxing a little, the black lioness paused to finally shake herself off head to tail, sending water drops flying in all directions.
"Time get these rogues back across the river, Friends. You vagrants can have the herd when it migrates back across the river, or take the long way around to find them on the other side of us, whatever takes your fancy." Morag called to the group, a half smile on her face.

Soleil giggled at Uxe's comment, well he did have a point. "Well yeah I guess you're right. But I bet you've noticed how many of us do..." She trailed her sentence allowing for her words to speak for themselves. "I think you're lucky to have less red than most. It gives you more originality!" Laughing at her own comment, it took a moment for her to take in the scene around her. Once she had, her good natured attitude came to a halt, the fur along her back bristled and she gave but a sharp simple nod.
"Yeah looks like you might be right about that. Lets just hope they aren't here to make trouble." Rolling her eyes, she looked over at Uxe and winked. "But on the off chance that they are, you're in great hands."

Atsila almost couldn't believe the events that transpired. She wouldn't have if she hadn't witnessed her own bravado in action, not that she was a cowardly lioness, but she'd never considered the idea that she might make a fine guard or soldier for that matter! A funny thing given the bloodlines that coursed through her veins. How could she possibly not make a grand pride defender? With moments of finding their mark, sending the lighter cat tumbling into the sand, a savage little grin found it's way to her muzzle. Let that stupid outsider think what he would of her now!
Of course, the apprentice medic didn't take into account how green she must have looked when she nearly tripped over her own prey. Lunging over top of the rolling body to keep from being caught up in his spindly legs. His cries of protest went ignored as Atsila watched the ibex herd roam deeper into the firekin lands. The idea of meat being bountiful in their desert home seemed a foreign one, but not unwelcome, tail flicking in a lively rhythm. Most of the rogues seemed to realize that their chances of crossing had significantly decreased now that the chaos had subsided, those who didn't cross the river on their own were "escorted" by the guards who still lingered at the bank. There didn't seem to be any further need for her here and with the realization dawning Atsila decided it was time to head back, holding herself proudly as she passed the stone grey lion barely a glance in his direction.
------
After the main driving force of this little rebellion had been dealt with, Machozi used his threatening size to convince a few of the more reluctant rogues to shove off, back to the lands they had come from. For the most part they went willingly and without protest, understanding of the way these things worked. Perhaps today they had failed, but maybe another day their luck would change. It was a surprisingly optimistic view on life, no matter how unlikely the Bonelands male thought it might have been. The few who weren't so quick to move received a firm swat to the hindquarters by his immense paw to encourage them to pick up the pace. Thankfully, they didn't need much more encouragement then that, leaving Machozi to return to his companions with a bizarre double-sided sense of both belonging and yet, in the same instant, a sense of watching the others with an outsider's perspective. Perhaps that was what being an ambassador was about.
Surprisingly sharp, given that he was a cub of Njalo's, gem green eyes didn't miss the ever so preening side-long glance the young lioness had given him as she walked by. Just a quick glance to be sure he saw her and recognized her deeds. She was impressive for certain, having managed to play such a vital role in stone-walling this potential disaster, but it seemed more like dumb luck than by any clear recognition that tackling the brown cheetah would end the potential invasion--which in Machozi's eyes made the whole thing far less impressive. The fact that she wanted him to see, to know what she had done reeked of desperation of a sort he couldn't entirely understand. Was she seeking approval as well? Why the hell would she have possibly needed it? And to be seeking it from him seemed, an altogether pointless endeavor.
While being a diplomat was a sometimes daunting task, dealing with females so intimately seemed another, completely foreign challenge all together.
