Requiem of Whyspers Wigglytuff had only just stopped spinning, preparing itself for another attack when Sub's Bisharp hit it with it's arm blade. Whitney had been right. It hadn't been so easy to take down Wigglytuff. Unfortunately for her, the Metal Claw proved it wan't too much harder than Ursaring had been to defeat. The rubbery pink rabbit hit the floor out cold and bounced a time or two. "Awwww!" Whitney pouted, recalling her Pokemon. The tears were coming back already. She was down to one Pokemon already. Could she really manage to beat this guy? Only one way to find out. "Come on out, Miltank!" She finally called, her internal deliberation ending as she settled on her favorite fallback. Who else could she count on to carry her through the rest of this battle? "Milky, use your Body Slam!" She ordered, watching as the pink menace stomped the ground twice before charging at full speed, throwing it's full weight into a forward flop aimed at Allan. Allan tried to brace himself for the mass of fat charging towards him but he seriously underestimated all that girth as the boviene flopped down on it. The Bisharp's Steel typing helped tremendously in surviving the attack, but it didn't help resist the psychological impact of the attack. Having all that cow laying on you was not pleasant. "Yuck. Allan, get that thing off of you! Use Low Kick!" Sub said with a devious grin. The Bisharp almost chuckled upon the command and in the most unceremonious way Allan swiftly kicked the cow right in the udder. Ow.

Miltank managed to jump back up and off of Allan before he kicked it but the attack caused it to immediately double over in pain, reflexively using Defense Curl without waiting for instruction from it's trainer. "No!" Whitney cried out. She just knew that had to have hurt. There was no way she was going to be getting Miltank to use anything else to attack for a minute or two.

Go all out! Guillotine!" Sub ordered with a devious smile on his face. Allan responded with a quick salute towards Sub before turning his attention back to the Milktank, its forearm blades gaining incredibly long chi extensions, making them seem massive now. The Bisharp would rush towards the curled up Miltank and attempt to bring its two scythe like blades together, with the cow in the middle.

And that would be the end of it for Whitney. Miltank hadn't yet recovered enough yet to react when she shouted for it to use Rollout. The Bisharp's blades came down and the bovine when with them. "NO!" Whtney cried out, running to her Pokemon's side now that the battle was officially over.
"I don't like you!" She screamed at Sub and Allan. "Take your stupid badge and leave!" Pulling a Plain Badge from her shirt pocket, she threw it at Sub and knelt over her Pokemon, checking it for major injuries with tears in her eyes. It wasn't long before she was flat out bawling. Sub might want to make his escape now.

Sub just stood there, baffled, as the badge hit him in the chest and fell to the floor. He had heard about Whitney getting upset after losing a battle but usually from what the rumors said you had to calm her down before you got your badge, he must have just gotten lucky. "Erm...let's go, Allan." The trainer said as he snatched up his Plain Badge and quickly scurried away, Allan following close behind. Despite his rapid retreat he was not looking forward to the next gym. Why is that you ask? The next gym is back home...

Sub would soon be greeted by the black expanse that was Ecruteak Gym. Now, how was he going to navigate across its infamous invisible walkways?
"Intriguing. The leader of Snagem, winding his way through the Gyms. I shall not detain you too long from your duties then. Light his way." A voice intoned from within the black expanse, before a trail of potlights snapped on in sequence above the 'invisible' floor. It showed the way across to the now illuminated Morty who stood with his arms crossed in anticipation.

It showed the way across to the now illuminated Morty who stood with his arms crossed in anticipation. "I see my reputation precedes me...at least the helpful one does..." He said, mumbling the second half to himself as he proceeded over the walk way. Every now and then he peered over the edge to get a good look at what exactly was down there, he had always wondered where trainers ended up when they took a wrong step, they never showed that on TV. Unfortunately it was too dark to see, maybe he could ask Morty. "So, I know who you are, you know who I allege to be...I hope. So why don't we cut the small talk?" The Snagem leader said as he took out a Dusk Ball.

Morty nodded at the Snagem leader's request, carefully drawing out his own Dusk Ball before pressing the button on the device. "I may know of your other reputation, but it doesn't matter for these circumstances. Let us duel." The device's contents would reveal to be a Dusknoir, hovering with an intimidating presence.

"Dusknoir huh? That takes me back. I remember when you debuted your Duskull after you got back from your trip to Mt. Pyre in Hoenn. Neat to see it all grown up and fully evolved." Sub said with a smile as he nonchalantly tossed his own Dusk Ball onto the field, the device popping open to reveal Edgar the Houndoom. "Challlenger first, right? Edgar, Will-o-Wisp." Sub commanded the Houndoom. "Houuund!" Howled Edgar as he breathed out five balls of ghostly blue fire, all floating in a row in front of him. With a bark the orbs of flame were sent flying through the air, seeking out the Ghost Pokemon known as Dusknoir.

Morty nodded as the Houndoom unleashed the Will-O-Wisp, eyes slowly moving to his Dusknoir before snapping his fingers. The Dusknoir disappeared at the noise, streaking across the ground inside of a shadow before popping out underneath Edgar with a vicious uppercut. "Hmm. You remember that. Interesting. Then I may need to change my tactics. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to learn some new tactics." Morty gave a small smile as he monitored his opponent. This was already interesting.

"Don't mention it. Then again you may have to change your style up a good bit, I've watched your battles very often. Edgar, Payback." Sub command.
As Edgar was lifted off the ground from the uppercut the dog was quick to whip around and sink its teeth into the arm of the ghost, unleashing a fierce wave of dark energy empowered by the spite and vengeance within Edgar that had accumulated after being attacked.

"Well then, best to start here. Dusknoir, Bind." Morty intoned, giving a small smile as he saw that his opponent had some bite to him. Pun not intended, of course.
The Dusknoir would twist inside of the Houndoom's jaw, a pained expression flashing across its face from the sudden dosage of dark energy before its other arm managed to swing around the Houndoom. Placing the canine into a headlock, the Dusknoir would begin to squeeze at Edgar's neck. "Hmm. A more physical approach. Almost feels surreal, but should be fun." Morty would add with a small adjustment to his scarf.

"Harsh, very unlike your usual style of battle, Morty." Sub complimented the gym leader. "Edgar, Dark Pulse." He said with a smile. Despite being head locked the dog gathered its most sinister thoughts and unleashed them from around its body in a pulsating wave of Dark chi, carrying the vile images with it.

Morty watched as the Dark Pulse washed over his Dusknoir, waiting for a moment before calling out, "Disable!" Dusknoir would glow for a moment as it continued to grip the Houndoom in its mighty grip, the energy visibly transferring to the Houndoom before a sense of pressure would grip the Houndoom. If he tried to use that Dark Pulse again, it would find itself unable to do anything with it. "Now, let's see what you can do."

"Oh plenty, mister Morty. Edgar, Will-o-Wisp!" The Dark One declared, avoid it this time. For his second attempt Edgar would just bite down on the Dusknoir's arm and expel the omnious blue fire from earlier, ensuring that the ghost would be burned, harming it as the battle goes on and weakening its physical strength. Furthermore, Houndoom are well known to give some of he nastiest burns known.
