The webbing was sturdy enough that Tk was able to slide down no problem. Although he wasn't a fan of the strings of web that stuck to his palms and clothes.

"Two on Two if you don't mind." the silver haired youth said pleasantly, Jumping off the last wire of string just before the ground. un latching X-Calibur's poke-ball from his trainer belt, he stood at the ready, the case of nerves already abating as the first vestiges of adrenaline that always accompanied a serious Pokemon battle caused began to flow.

Takamaru stood waiting for her to choose her first Battling companion, as was proper Gym match conduct, while going over what he knew about this Gym leader. She uses bug Type Pokemon he thought, listing off there weaknesses and strengths in his head. He knew bug Pokemon developed fast but had all together week attacking stats. There strength lay with there status debilitators he thought, re calling what his studies taught him.

His plan already formulating.

"I need you to send out your Pokemon," Viola said.

"Hmm, Oh, W-what?" he stammered, jarred from his concentration.

"I Uh, I thought the Gym leaders chose there's first?" Takamaru called, confused. This wasn't what how he was instructed Gym matches went. But then, he figured it best not to question a licensed Gym leader on proper Gym protocol.

"Er, N-never mind," he mumbled abashedly, tossing X-caliburs Pokeball in the air. The steel and Ghost type took the field, unsheathing and flourishing itself that basically said he was ready for his League debut.

"We deal with a lot of trainers and Pokemon, so the ones we choose are based on the skills and Pokemon of our opponents," Viola explained as she took a Pokeball and released Surskit.

"Bubble," Viola said. Surskit complied and released the bubble attack toward Honedge.

Logging away that information for latter, Takamaru's focus was whole again as he called out his first Battle command. "Dodge with Shadow Sneak!"

X-calibur complied by falling into the nearest shadow and emerging to the left of the Surskit before swinging his bladed edge covered in shadows at the tiny bug type. If it landed, the surskit would be knocked back, where if it is indeed the case, Takamaru will have X-calibur follow up with Pursuit in order to keep up the close ranged pressure on the Surskit. if either of these moves connect, the damage will be average.

Speed into speed meant one thing, X-Calibur wouldn't be able to dodge what came next. "Infestation," Viola ordered as X-Calibur came from the shadows. He struck down as Surskit pulled the bugs forward.

The attack struck as the bugs surrounded X-Calibur, assuring that the next move not only guaranteed he'd be hit if he fell into it, but that if he was the bugs would infest him and begin to tear at him until he fell apart.

Because X-Calibur would be running into Infestation with Pursuit for it to work, for being forced to openly dodge it, it left a window open for two options.

If X-Calibur attacked, it would give Surskit a chance to dodge it because of his sudden agony, dodging to the side in a circle around X-Calibur to lay on the bubble.

If not, it meant that Surskit could pull infestation to itself, prepared to strike X-Calibur the moment he got too close.

All of these ordered curtly - "circle bubble" and "infestation shield" respectively.

X-Calibur wouldn't need to dodge as his next battle command came in the form of, "Cut through with Furry Cutter." After his Training on route 4, switching from one move to another happened at the drop of a hat. Altering his trajectory ever so slightly in the middle of Pursuit, he launched into a barrage of countless low powered swipes that he would no doubt cut through the shield of fragile bugs that Surskit pulled back to defend itself.

although, this tactic would undoubtedly cause the blade Pokemon to become infested, his steel type attribute reduced any battle damage done by bug type attacks to a meager 1/4th there original strength. Hardly incurring any 'agony' on X-Calibur's end.

Since there was no delay in attack layover, there would be no foreseeable way for Surskit to ready itself for a stable rebuke attack in time to counter the continuing Furry Cutter.

Assuming at any point during the attack transaction the Surskit was struck and hopefully resulting in knocking it slightly off balance. Takamaru would call for X-Calibur to momentarily retreat with Shadow Sneak before going directly into a course of Swords Dance

Takamaru was confident - something he shouldn't have been.

Infestation tore into a Pokemon internally. Type resistance was irrelevant to the amount of damage that would come, so while Takamaru called out orders confident in X-Calibur's resistance, the Honedge would feel itself ripped and chewed and bitten.

The bugs, rooted in place, would be there with no way to immediately remove them.

So because there was likely a pause of unexpected agony from X-Calibur it gave a pause before he could, logically, continue the furry cutter. This let Surskit fire off a bubble as he circled around X-Calibur.

And then another. For every action that X-Calibur made, he'd feel more agony tear through him. ((The equivalent of an action/move=turn=1/8th hp, random.org says four turns(it was four of five, so this is the nice one) up to 50% of Honedge's hp over four moves))

Viola called for a barrage of such and thus, Surskit would move around X-Calibur, keeping the heat on him.

Takamaru was right to be confident in his Pokemon's abilities.

Cause you see, even with the Infestation slowly rooting themselves just beneath X-calibur's metallic body, The Honedge Species had the Innate ability called No guard which made it so all attacks aimed at and launched from the bearer hit, every time, without fail. Meaning even after taking the initial Infestation attack from the Surskit, The same fragile Surskit would have already taken several swipes from X-Calibur's Furry Cutter

Since dodging was meaningless to a Pokemon with no guard, Takamaru Called out another "Shadow Sneak!" to which X-Calibur would cease its barrage of Furry Cutter's and dive into the shadow's once more.

Shadow Sneak, being a fast acting priority move, would hit home with out fail do to No Guard, along with the power boost that came with same type attacks, just before Surskit's barrage of bubble as it skated across the arena in a circle.

This would all still happen in a timely fashion, even with the irritating biting and pinching of the Infestation swarm that would soon die.

With its metallic battle cry, X-calibur would launch from the shadows just behind Surskit, swinging its shadow covered body in an arc towards the, hopefully, soon to be struck Surskit.

The encounter, fury cutter and bubble, shadow sneak cutting down Surskit finally - Infestation tearing into X-Calibur all the while - would finally end in Takamaru's favor.

Surskit, with his little body, would fall to the round and be recalled.

"Fantastic," Viola said.

Viola would send out her next Pokemon, Vivillon. Then she waited for Takamaru to make his move as an unspoken order began.

Infestation began to pull toward Vivillon, a green army of bugs coming around him in preparation for the next around.

X-Calibur oozed pride at his first KO in a gym match, but even with its post victory euphoria, the infestation had taken a toll on the Steel type, along with the several times Surskits bubble had hit home, he was at roughly 20% health, and now facing another irritating Infestation shield.

As it was turning out, X-calibur's No Guard ability was a double edged sword that Takamaru was going to have to train more with to make into an asset on the battle field, instead of a hindrance.

Currently, Tk had two options seeing as Infestation was still in effect, making any attempt's at retreating null. Either A.) Suicide attack with Shadow sneak to get at least one, maybe two attacks before X-calibur would faint. Or option B.) Attempt a Sword Dance and hope X-calibur gets the stat boost effect in before Vivilion can strike it down, in the hopes of sharply raising X-caliburs attack stat. and possibly making victory with a single fighter realitly. Takamaru wasn't a fool, He knew it was a long shot, but it was the only option that had immediately presented itself that had any window of winning this, with out X-calibur fainting in the process.

Takamaru tested his luck as he called out, "Swords Dance," and hoping Vivilion moved slow enough as to give X-Calibur enough time to finish the simple dance. It would give Viola roughly a 5 second free window in which to strike.

Vivillon couldn't miss. So while X-Calibur used Sword Dance, Viola called for Sleep Powder.

Unless Takamaru could get X-Calibur out of the line of fire, the Sleep Powder would hit and be followed by a series of "Psybeam"s until Vivillon had a new opponent.

TK sighed as he recalled the now sleeping X-Calibur.

That was...Anit climatic the trainer mused to himself, selecting Shuriken's Poke-ball from his trainer belt, letting the armor bird Pokemon take the field.

"Air Cutter," the trainer called even before his next battler was fully materialized. According to his pokdex, Vivilion had Compound Eye's and Shield Dust as its two primary abilities. meaning its accuracy was safe from being lowered, and no additional effects were happening anytime soon.

The value of this trainer tool was incredible.

With that Infestation shield surrounding Vivilion, Takamaru didn't want to put Suriken into close range combat, hence the mid ranged barrage of air slices being set at Vivilion from a single hard swing of Shuriken's wings.

Takamaru's goal was simple, keep Shuriken outside of the range of Infestation, until he was forced other wise, or won the battle.

"Dodge and Orchestrate," Viola ordered.

Vivillon flew to the right and the Air Cutter cut through bits of the infestation swarm. It began to spread and move toward Skarmory, while keeping parts of itself near Vivillon.

At the same time Vivillon released Sleep Powder, aimed to force Skarmory to dodge or be hit. If Shuriken did avoid it, he'd have to make sure not to fly too close to Infestation in the process.

"Dodge, then lay down a Barrage of Air Cutter's," TK called, an auxiliary plan slowly forming. "Next opening, hit it with Leer."

Shuriken's dodge was sloppy, and ended up getting grazed by the Infestation, causing the left side of his body to become minorly infected with the parasites. shuriken's regality started acting up, his irritation at having his metal coat blemished was close to sending him into a flurry. but he held his cool in front of the trainer, for now.
