Mai is dueling against the real Marik and Marik has placed them both in the shadow realm. Each time a duelist loses a monster that duelist loses a part of their memory.

Mai was able to get some help from Yugi to prevent feeling so alone and then she manages to summon Ra's egg, but because she doesn't know how to read the text on the card, she won't be able to summon the egyptian god card.

Mai loses to Marik and thus her mind is sent to the shadow realm.

Seto battles Ishizu and is sick and tired of hearing her preach about how he is going to lose if he summons Obelisk the tormentor.

Ishizu loses the duel when Seto summons his blue eyes white dragon and attacks her. The millennium rod naturally belongs to Seto and not Marik.

Ishizu told Yugi and friends of how Marik became evil meanwhile Marik and evil Bakura are dueling for millennium items and the shadow realm.

The duel between Marik and Bakura continues and Bakura now has the winged dragon of ra at his disposal and plans on summoning it.
