🍂 Designer: Detrimentum 🍂 Model: Eryn Luz 🍂 Challenge: #8 - Freaky Friday on Project Catwalk! 🍂 Outift Title: Autumn at Home 🍂 Description:
This was a really fun challenge! Working with a different model than usual is a great idea to shake things up a bit.
The model assigned to me for this challenge is Luz, which I find amusing since she was one of my picks when I applied for the current cycle. She’s quite different from Eryn — her palette and expression are both much softer. I imagine Luz as more of a cute, dainty girl rather than a punk like Eryn. With this image of her in mind, I set out to create the perfect autumnal look.
Luz is wearing an adorable white shirt with a dark brown collar and a sable tie, paired with a light apricot-coloured skirt. On her legs, she has dark leggings with a cute, starry pattern, layered with white slouch socks, and comfy sable loafers. Over the outfit, she has a cosy overcoat with a fluffy fur collar. To top it off, I’ve added a cute little beret on her head. For her makeup, I’ve kept it natural — just a hint of eyeshadow and a bit of blush to make her look slightly flushed from the cold.
The background I chose is an autumnal garden with the overlay of an open doorframe, to which I added a scattering of leaves. I wanted it to look like Luz had just come home from an outing, and as she opened the door, a gust of wind blew in a swirl of orange leaves.
Description: Designers, I hate to be the one to inform you, but it seems like something has happened with the models. Maybe it is some lingering magic from Halloween, we are working on figuring out what happened. But for this challenge you have to use your model as she is: with the body of another model! To put it simply, you will all be using a different model this week. All has been randomly assigned, you will find your new model below. We want to see you embrace your new model and dress them in an autumnal look. Best of luck everyone! Due Date: Nov 9th Princess Warfare: Raine
I thought the premise for this challenge was super fun! I enjoyed working with Raine; her hair and expression meant I had my work cut out for me. I decided on a sitting pose, because I love the Ashouka legmod! I did also use the background tree from the same item, because I liked the twisting branches and how they contributed to the somewhat interrupted wreath shape in the back! Here you'll see Raine posing for a portrait like a Harvest Goddess or something; sitting on a throne of corn and sunflowers! 4laugh I really liked how the background cutter effect adds the canvas, and then with the sunflower behind the right side of the canvas, it looks like someone was actually painting the scenery, and were just now about to add Raine to the masterpiece. She even has her mug of cider, or cocoa, which is actually ironic given the transition into this next section rofl
Idk if you live where I do, but I s2g it's been like 70-80 degrees fahrenheit and it's already NOVEMBER. With that in mind, I wanted Raine's dress to be light and flowy, because we still can't wear multiple layers due to the heat! Hence the 'Hottie' in the title (tee-hee). I've been wanting to incorporate this arm mod I chose for some time now! I'm glad I finally got to do that with this challenge. I love the details on the sleeves too, even though I'd be sweating to death irl.
I ended up with a lighter Autumnal vibe, but I think it still captures the change in the air, the harvest season, and the cozy vibes we all love this time of year, despite the warmer than normal temps. Thank you for your time and energy, and I hope you enjoyed my look!
Challenge 8: Freaky Friday on Project Catwalk! Designer: excites // Status: Complete Model: Brandie // Title: Last To Fall
Description:Autumnal deity guides the final green leaf to fall, the last of summer's essence fading behind her, leaving nothing but autumns symphony of browns, reds, oranges, and yellows.
I knew that for this challenge I wanted to create a look that would contrast the last bit of green before all of the colors of autumn/ fall took over. I love the rich warm tones that come with autumn. I wanted this shoot to give the allusion that the last of summer was fading away/ disappearing behind Brandie. With the backdrop I've created, it's almost as if the image of autumn is being distorted as the green from summer's "essence" implodes and vanishes. (Like a pulling/ warping effect a black hole would create.) I wanted Brandie to almost seem like she is one with the leaves on the ground, as if at a moments notice, she could vanish into the earth leaving nothing but autumn leaves behind.
The look! It was so fun working with Brandie and I think she really stands out well in this look. For her makeup I've just done some orange and yellow blush to give her an autumn vibe. The dress is brown on the outside with some added pieces around her hips to resemble trees and tree bark. The top of her dress has orange leaf accents and the inside of her dress is red, orange, and yellow to resemble autumn leaves. The look is completed with a red leafed earring and some magic! (sparkles)
Designer's Note: I loved creating this look! Hopefully my vision came through with the feel, movement, and color elements in the photo.
Me and Eunwoo... wait... er... Serena?! No worries! I'll keep you comfy till whatever this is passes!
It may be pretty outside, but to me Autumn is the time when we get to start cozying up indoors! I wanted to give those cozy vibes, the idea of staying in, watching movies, and sipping on some hot cocoa or a latte!
The first choices were the couch and background! I knew I wanted her wrapped up and sitting on something warm with the orange backdrop of an early autumn sunset in the background. From there, I chose a color palette from there (demure mostly) and rolled with it! I wanted colors that would pop against the bright orange autumn backdrop. It was super fun to play with a color palette to compliment Serena instead of Eunwoo for this challenge!
Snuggled up in a chunky knit blanket and paired with high stockings for ultimate warmth and comfort. Added a mug of hot cocoa to complete the cozy vibe. Perfect for a crisp autumn day indoors with a book watching the leaves fall outside!
Yours, Mew
Aprils have never meant much to me, autumns seem that season of beginning, spring. ~ Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany's
Description: For this challenge I have transformed Eryn into an Autumn goddess at the start of the season. She's working her magic and adding the beautiful colors autumn is known for. I didn't like Autumnal color scheme when it came out, but I have seen user create some stunning avi's using it that changed my opinion on it. For this avi I was inspire by Pommes Frites avi that I saw a while back.
Specifically I like the crown and foliage ribbons combo, however, for Eryn that combo doesn't work because of her curly hair shape. Instead a flower circlet worked perfectly with her hair and the crown. I added flowers and pearls in her peplum top. The peplum top I thought made an interesting addition to the outfit, instead of a full length dress, it made it a sophisticated two piece outfit. I also really like how the edge of the top went with the sleave edges of the arms. I added a heart necklace to cover up a necklace that came with the pearls but didn't go with the outfit, specifically a heart because this goddess loves her job. For her makeup I went with yellow eyeshadow combine with pink. Simply yellow was too bright with her skin tone, the pink overlayed darkened it. I went with yellow because it was the one color in the leaf color transition I couldn't add. And once I did add it to her eyes I thought it went well, it didn't stand out too much being the only intense yellow on Eryn.
For the setting I went with the start of the Autumn season because I wanted to showcase all the colors that make up lovely Autumn. Green, light green, orange, red orange leaves are scattered around clearly visible against the dark brown bark of the trees before autumn fully hits and leaves start to turn color and fall. And those red orbs/balls I like to think of as apples! A fall fruit and my favorite for pie! Lastly I went with a yellow/red glow for sunrise or sunset illusion, because before you realize it leaves are falling and it's fall!
"Even though it's 85-90 degrees outside still, the moment Starbucks starts selling pumpkin spice lattes all the girls desperately don their Ugg boots and flannel. Bless their hearts, they just wanna be cute but unless you got the waterproof mascara you ain't gonna make it." -FaithEmblem
Hello and thank you for having me back for another round! (I can not tell you how excited I was to play with Eunwoo's color palette, what a lovely model. Her dark hair and light eyes are quite the contrast from my dear, sweet Luz.)
This look started with a big, fluffy green jacket but then I quickly realized that my last look was ALSO a fall look, so I needed to be very particular to avoid the look being too similar. To hopefully create a unique design, I took inspo from my local scene, where it is still hot unfortunately. You can see Eunwoo was wearing some adorable flannel over her dress, but ended up tying it around her waist instead!
I was careful with the color palette in this piece, using multiple backgrounds to create an orange glow. The models cheeks follow this same pattern, an orange blush + a bright red flush. The arm mod was a shirt, so a high waisted skirt was used to create a dress look. The ugg shoes were the foundation for this outfit. The arm mod had a water bottle and while it would fit the scene I felt like it was too clunky so I used a cutter to remove it.
(I'm hoping that by adding the bright orange leaves, the orange in her hat is less obvious. It was important to the look to have that floppy hat.)
I tried and failed to trim this description judges C': I value your time, thanks for reading
Challenge #8 Freaky Friday on Project Catwalk! Feedback
Winner: Detrimentum — Eryn (Luz) • This outfit on Luz is well-executed and suits her features. The layering is appreciated, and while the entry isn’t groundbreaking, it’s solid and consistent. That color scheme with that shade of orange and the touches of brown looks beautiful. Luz looks adorable and cozy, especially with the beret. • There are concerns that the fur leans more towards winter and that the silhouette might be chunky with the coat, and a desire for a break from traditional Autumnal themes. It also feels a bit dark and heavy compared to the girlier description.
excites — Serena (Brandie) • The judges unanimously admired the overall aesthetic of your entry, so much so that one judge gave you perfect marks. This entry is just stunning. This outfit was meant to be worn by Brandie, and her only. • The blending of the brown part of the dress with the background is noted as a downside by some of the judges. There is also a sliver of leg visible that while it shows she is wearing a dress, distracts from the blending into the background effect.
BloodAngel95 — Raine (Eryn) • You successfully incorporated various fall colors in a harmonious way. You managed to balance the fall colors without it appearing cluttered. The color palette and foliage motif are the highlights of this entry. • Your entry could have scored higher if it hadn't relied too much on the avatar inspiration, which was deemed better than the final design.
Princess Warfare — Brandie (Raine) • One judge described your entry as "an ANTM photoshoot". The color balance and use of space are much appreciated by the judges. • Some of us feel that the legmod, dress, and bench don’t layer well together, and the overall vibe is more summery than autumnal. Some suggest adding a softer color to complement the existing tones on the entry.
FaithEmblem — Luz (Eunwoo) • The judges love how you encapsulated Eunwoo's features and charms with this fall girl aesthetic look. This is cute, but has just enough extras to impress. Special kudos on the make up! • Most of the judges expressed a desire for more distinctive and engaging details, because this entry just lacks creativity and style depth. It is cute and simple, but just a little underwhelming. The ideas and start is all there, it just needs to be amped up.
Eliminated: the purple mew — Eunwoo (Serena) • Serena looks warm and cozy in her sleepwear look. Very adorable. One of the judges even said this might be the best look you've done stylistically. • This entry falls short of expectations for an autumnal theme. It feels rushed, and while it is cute and pleasant, that is all it is. We appreciate the attempts to branch out and take things in a different direction, but there just wasn't enough to reach the autumnal theme or make it pop beyond being cute and cozy.
For this challenge, my assigned colour was silver, so I had to ponder what silver means and makes me think of. Silver is the colour of glamour, grace and elegance. Silver makes me think of bright stars in the night sky. So I've decided to combine these ideas!
First I started with the main outfit - her gown. While looking through items, I've realized Gaia seriously needs more things in different colours not only in the same colour schemes all the time. And maybe possibly a better tagging system. Anyway, as I couldn't find a good dress, I've decided I need to make my own. Eryn's gown is in reality made out of three different clothing pieces - a white bodice, a silver dress and a grey overdress; on top of that, her gown is tied by a silver sash. Thanks to this combination her gown looks very elegant and grand. On her back, she has a bow and her whole outfit is covered in sparkles.
For accessories, I went with a big silver crown with stars, to go back to the starry theme, and a smaller crown with white roses that has a bunch of silver beads covering Eryn's forehead. I liked how the combination of both crowns with Eryn's unhidable ear piercings made it look like the earrings were a part of the headdress, Her makeup is made up of black eyeliner, and three different grey and black eyeshadows, while the rest of her face is covered with silver shimmer.
The background is kept simple, I've opted to add a bit of colour with the red, since this way the whole image wouldn't be monochrome. As the red was a bit bright I added a light filter, which also made it look like there were camera flashes in the backdrop~ The roses were added to make the background a bit more interesting and match her crown! Eryn's pose is meant to be her spreading her arms and showing off her gown.

Challenge 9: oO0ooOOo0o ... Shiny Designer: excites // Status: Complete Model: Serena // Title: Back in Black
Description: After "Freaky Friday" it's so good to have Serena back! 'Back in Black' and as stunning as ever! For this red carpet soiree, I've dressed Serena in a floor length black gown, adorned with diamonds. The dress has a high leg slit and off the shoulder sleeves. As she struts down the carpet, everyone is trying to snap a photo of her look, camera's flashing everywhere! You see Serena shine and gleam from the effects of the flashes. Accented with a black diamond headdress, diamond bracelet, and a classic black heel, she's ready to steel the show.
For Serena's makeup I really leaned in to the "glitz and glam". I've filled in her eyebrows, gave her a sexy smokey eye, lashes, blush, and lip tint. I also showed her skin some love with body oil to make sure she looks healthy and shining in ever photo.
"Can I hear a little commotion for the dress? Now let's hear it for the back of the dress!"
Designer's Note: I had so much fun creating this look. Sorry I took the longest time ever with this, but thank you so much for the extra time and the opportunity!

Designer: bloodangel95 Model: Raine Outfit Title:
Shinning Sun
Description: I started this challenge just looking for the perfect gold dress. There were a few that caught my eye, but they were more of white gold shade than a bright gold, until I found this one. It was exactly like what I had in mind. To change up the dress design I added a corset that accentuating her chest. The corset had a white mesh, since there was already was a bit of white I went ahead and added a white bustle for more volume to the dress. (Plus it covered up the red carpet lettering.) I add the glowing swirl on the bottom of the dress to be like a solar flare.
The bright gold from the dress I picked made me think of the Sun. Luckily gaia had the perfect sun ray headdress for a sun goddess. One headdress wasn't enough so I combined several in slightly different shades of gold. For the center I went for red gems as I already had solar flares in mind. And since that was in my mind I also gave her orange eye shadow up top with a bit of red at the bottom of the eyes. I watched Miss Universe last weekend and so I ended up channeled Miss Universe national costume vibe into my design for Raine.
Even though I felt like the headdress was too much, I liked it and I still added some elegant white and gold earrings that gave evening event vibes.
Now for the arms I originally wanted to have Raine arms at her waist posing for a picture, but because of her hair you can't see one of the arms, so instead I had her hands down, one you just see her knuckles at the side of her dress the other looks like she is about to grab her dress.
For the background I was going to go for a simple background so the design could shine more as well, but it was too much of a goddess vibe not a red carpet look. I added a more detained background that changed the vibe complete. One of the background came with a filter the dulled the top half, I was tempted to have a white filter like a flash from paparazzi, but went with a filter that gave a golden glow as if Raine herself was the one shinning, a shine that is more vibrant from the bottom and slowly working up.
I look into it, here are some Miss Universe Sun Looks. (The second one is supposed to be lava inspired but the headdress looks like a sun and it lights up!)
I had to redeem a HELP voucher for this challenge! That means it actually stumped me for a second!! I mean that as a compliment to this challenge. Anytime I have to ask for help, I know that I am pushing myself as a designer AND as a creative person in general.
Thank you to The Clot Thickens for your feedback and suggestions. I needed just a little direction, and I believe I've created a look that would dazzle anyone at this fanciful function!
Brandie is shining amidst the camera flashes while the paparazzi snap her photo, dazzling the spectators in her shimmering gown.
Okay, let's start from the top down!
Brandie's crown/tiara was meant to look like raw, uncut gems, since the main objective for me was to essentially drip her in diamonds and white sparkles. I needed the tiara to balance out everything else that is going on further down, especially the main bulk of the skirt.
Next, I used the eyegleam pose from 'Classic, but make it fashion!' to add a nice detail; it's like the camera flashes were going off and reflecting back through her gaze. And honestly? Slay.
Brandie's dress is encrusted with diamonds, and if you look closer under the skirt, you can see the full pose; I loved how simple but elegant this legmod I chose was!
For the background, I layered a few partial bg's to create the scene. The red carpet, the crowd, and then the stage which is framing her entrance. I wanted the sparkles in the back to be reminiscent of camera flashes without taking away from Brandie's look.
I hope you all enjoyed my entry, and I look forward to hearing from the judges!
Thank you! heart Lola
Challenge #9: oO0ooOOo0o ... Shiny
Description: Designers, it is my pleasure to tell you that your models have been returned to their rightful bodies, and they've all received invitations to quite the soiree! We want to see them shine in metal and glam, to impress as they walk the carpet. Every paparazzi there should be scrambling to get a picture of your model. Not all that glitters is gold, but your models should shine brightly in whatever color they are wearing. Worry not! To ensure that no two people show up to the event in the same color, everyone has been assigned a color to wear. Can't wait to see the ladies all dressed up! Silver - Detrimentum • • • • • Black - excites Gold - BloodAngel95 • • • • • White - Princess Warfare Bronze/Brown - FaithEmblem
"Luz fought for months to get an invite to this soiree. Trying to find modeling work in New York has been soul crushing, and this is finally her chance to make sure everyone knows her name!"
Hello and thank you so much for having me back again (and for fielding my many questions this week),
OH! BOY!
Meet a party outfit that looks deceptively easy to slip into! First glance you might say, "ah, a lovely brown gown". Then, you see a wrap with a glittering cutaway that's layered over a ribbed brown gown... with just enough peek at the bottom to show an expertly flaunted leather heeled boot. As she glides by, a delicate bronze lace train flows behind her. Yesterday she may have been a pedestrian, but today Luz is a star amongst this crowd of partying celebrities!
It took an insane amount of trial and error to finally fall in love with this look, but I did! This is the first competition where I actively had four-five separate looks going, constantly tearing them down and building them back up, each time with different backgrounds and entirely different pieces. I edited this look until I really felt like it fit the narrative I was trying to create.
Even right before submitting, I almost removed the train from her dress several times. ((I realized it wasn't because it didn't look good- it does- it was because it was a bit out of my comfort zone. In the end I'm glad it stayed, it really adds some extra oomph and elegance.))
Notes about Luz's look: -The chest cutter was used not only added much needed sparkle to the dress, it also cleverly hid the scar cutter needed to remove the feathers and miscolored bracelets from the party in the ashes arm mod. It also pulls the beautiful dark brown to the top of the outfit for better balance. -"hawt reputation" was used to add more shadow under her neck and dull the "goldenness" of the necklace portion of the chest cutter -At first I had some sparkly, antique gold chains on the top of her head. I realized, not only had I done that before, it just looked too bulky for a fancy party. She's a babe, but she's not a princess. Ended up switching over to these great Renewed Northern Light earrings that draw nice attention and mimic the undercolors of the dress -I also did my best to make her seem young. Not sure if it came across, but that's what I tried to do (a piercing at the top of her ear, fitted silhouette, and exaggerated eyelashes are what I thought might do this lol)
*special thanks to the judges and The Clot Thickens for helping bring this design together!
Detrimentum — Eryn • This was silver, and we loved the background you chose, it was one of many smart decisions you've made this competition. You also put a lot of work into building the dress and we can tell how much thought you gave it. • It is a pretty look, though at times it is almost a little too white versus silver. The other problem is while you put a lot of work into the dress and we admire all of the creativity, we don't love the end product. There is just one too many elements.
FaithEmblem — Luz • Kudos on getting advice and bringing bronze to life so spectacularly! Faith looks beautiful and this look stands out from the other entries this week which at this stage of the competition? It is so important to stand out. • The judges had mixed reviews on this. One judge thought the eyes looked a bit swollen with the make up chosen, and another judge loved how dynamic the make up made the look. One judge loved that the background was different, that it looked like Luz was at the after party while another judge felt like it strayed too far from the prompt.
Princess Warfare — Brandie • This is a beautiful white dress, and kudos on avoiding it looking far too bridal or like Marilyn, an impressive feat with your model. • The background lost points, it was a mixed bag that left us questioning if it was a runway or a red carpet, and the colorful thing on the red carpet item itself was distracting. On every look that used it, with Brandie's white dress it was really emphasized on your look. More diamonds might have broken up the dress a little and increased the motif you were aiming for. Another thing you should really think about for the next entry is to only give us one view of the look - the back views on this one were even more distracting.
excites — Serena • This was a nice look that embraced the color black, and reads as very elegant. The make up choice was also a particularly good and flattering one for Serena. • The headdress blends in with the hair too much and can't really be appreciated, and while some judges felt like you used the red carpet item the best, it was still very distracting with the pop of color. There also just wasn't a lot of creativity this week, and you've given us some very creative looks in the past which only made this one feel simpler. Don't forget to give more details in your description either.
BloodAngel95 — Raine • The yellow tone of gold you chose for this was a bold one, and it is very flattering on Raine. You chose a dress that is flattering and balances out the entry well. • You were inspired by the Miss Universe Sun Looks and you did a great job mimicking them to create another look, but it doesn't feel like the most creative thing. You also just put way too much stuff on this entry. And since all the items on the head are a far different gold from the dress, they start to clash. There is so much going on that it is really hard to appreciate details and even see what all is going on.

Challenge #10: Death Becomes Her Designer: FaithEmblem Model: Luz Status: complete
Luz featured in Grim Business!
'What's going on in this scene?' Luz and her boss had been having an affair and were very close, but suddenly things changed and she wasn't allowed in his office anymore. "What could he be hiding in there, and why?", she wondered. The last thing she remembered before waking up covered in blood was sneaking in late at night, after everyone had gone home...
'Can you break down the look?' I wanted something very film noir, so I took inspiration from that genre. Luz (secretary turned statistic) is supposed to look like a broken doll with her limp wrists and bent knees/turned in feet, and perhaps like she just woke up to realize she is hurt and in danger. My first instinct was to do completely monochrome aside from the blood, however, I found Luz didn't quite stand out this way. So instead I made her color palette burgundy, crimson, ivory, and black. These colors go in layers up her look, to give the illusion she has been soaked in blood. The fit is ruffled and dirty, but you can clearly tell is was previously very prim and proper. The background really nails the crime-drama vibe and stark lighting I wanted.
Items notes? ▭ι═ﺤChanged glasses several times before final submission, to finally land on a pair that both looked stylish and slightly down her nose so the eyes are still visible. ▭ι═ﺤIvory hairlights were added to simulate moonlight and bring some white color to the top of her outfit (I felt using a 'perfect' little bow or headband would ruin the look of her tattered skirt and broken doll pose) ▭ι═ﺤthe skirt has obviously been tugged at and is hanging somewhat offcenter, but for some reason the white tights only show from the back of the avi, and not from the front. If you only see the front you may think the skirt is ill-fitted, so for this reason I have included both front and back. ▭ι═ﺤthis was a constant battle between fashion and a realistic scene! I'm glad I managed to make her outfit visible from head to toe while still getting the point across. also, that's not blood, those are red bottom heels baaaaby!
