Well, I thought about it and yes they do rhyme. Both words end with the long e sound. eek

By the way, in what dictionary do you find the word ascute with that meaning? I found it no where except for Wikipedia and this is what it says:Ascute - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ascute is a genus of Clathrinidae. I found that to be an Invertebrate from the Animal kingdom.

Are you sure you don't mean askew? That would fit your definition. eek
