Love is like a war...
Easy to start,

Jade quickly rose to his feet when he heard the prefect talk about heading towards the common room. He was ready to leave the feast. His meeting later in mind sneaking out was his next move.

Since Eliora was nearby to Belle, she heard as soon as the girl said that it was time to go. Luckily, she had just finished her meal, even having been able to get some treacle tart for desert. Her stomach was full and happy, and the first year smiled. She moved over to follow Belle, stealing a glance at Dom as she looked around to see who else would follow. A boy she had seen playing the guitar at the station followed, as well as the odd boy who had tripped on his way to the table. Curious. She shook her head. If he wanted to make a fool of himself his first day in Slytherin, he could go right ahead - away from her.

She had better things to do. She needed to make "friends". Her family had been so secluded after her birth, the Wizarding community hardly remembered the name Blake! She nearly scoffed. It was an old name: Originating in Ireland, the Tribe Blac was one of the 14 Tribes of Galway. The base name, Blac, is where the Blacks originated from. That great family actually consisted of her cousins! Many a great name came from the Blake family, as well as the Blacks. A book series had even been written based off of one of them. She smirked. And muggles read it every day.

Currently: Leaving the Great Hall full and happy. Outfit:Minus bow and necklace. Accent:Very Welsh. Thoughts: Stupid muggles.

Confusion set itself within the wrinkles of his brow and the curls of his lips, the vague statement left the boisterous snake silent for the moment as the contemplated all of the hidden meanings behind it. Still, Dominic didn’t really know what to make of it, especially with all of the random outbursts that his friend had been prone too during his stay within the infirmary last year. A troubled look remained, even as he shrugged his shoulder and finally set himself a plate, biting off a thick mass of meat with sharp canine teeth.

Even as he ate, he tried to keep himself busy, tried not to look around, not to look too intently into Damien. The Great Hall settled back into normal simplicity, as if nothing had happened at all, and Dominic just kept on chewing.

Ceasing, if only momentarily, when Damien spoke up again with a callous tone of voice, Dominic’s throat tightened, his veins pumping, throbbing, as he swallowed down a now very dry, rough lump of meat down. He only shrugged again, not saying a word, his eyes darted to the left, rushing over everything he’d just learned…

Mother, a muggle? He felt a cool, static sweat build, and a shiver creep down his spine. But he only shrugged, and shook his head—eating.
”Who knows?” Dom finally spoke with a casually forced drawl, his fingers reaching for a roll of bread. ”With as much trouble as they start, there’s no telling.” And he simply left it at that, watching as his cousin stood to hurdle up the first years and lead them down the dungeons—he already knew the password, so he didn’t hurry to rush with the rest. He had hardly even noticed Eli as she passed him by.

He just… kept on eating.

William Dante Nott the Third

Sixth Year, Slytherin Prefect

A nefarious darkness withered, streaming through blood of char and ash and poisoned death like sinister chains of Hell coiled tight around his flesh. There was a mar in his magic, an imprint in his soul that every porcelain finger could touch, but would never find. It roared like a fire in his burning eyes, ever storming. Utmost, he was shocked, by far, that she held him there, captivated in the eye of the storm. He sat, vigil and unmoving, a towering force of iron and stone, a testament of time as the winds and rains of gods’ clashed down with might, over and over and over, in fits of gusts and waves and storms.

He cleared his throat, but silence reigned on—and all around him, the world had long since faded a bitter black. Melting and cooling, cast in metal, and gone, what was left was a world where only moonlight could reach him. ”The world’s changing,” he spoke, soft, and bittersweet, but he explained no more.

”If you have to live in a man’s world, why not be a woman in it? You already seem to have a penchant for rebellion.” But his views, of course, were far different than that of some. He had always valued the wisdom of the women in his life, few as there were. But, having broken ties with the pope long ago, his family always had the chance for divorce to fall back on. In darker days, there was magic, ancient and dark that would claim love and fealty between a woman and man—his uncle described it once, the Nott’s are one of few with any slight lingering knowledge of the subject.

Hell—he’d be lying if said he’d never been interested in it.

A thrashing tongue concealed all the words he wanted to say behind a mask of hardened ice, laced with inherit inability to process true emotion. So much to say, he daunted, and yet, only silence…

A wisp of black unfurled at the corners of his lips, like a promise of the demons that lay there as he smiled down on her. ”Don’t hesitate to find me, if you ever need a thing…” he found himself saying faster than his thoughts could replay it all in his head, and he mobilized. Like hardened stone his body tensed as he rose into the air, sliding out of his seat. ”If you’ll excuse me…” He dare not bow, not so much as nod as his head as accustomed to an heir. His eyes scanned the table, falling upon another set of steely silver eyes as he sought out Michelle.

He hovered in place for the moment, long enough for her eyes to catch his and then he was off, slithering down to the recesses of the dungeons where he would wait for the second year to join him.

Michelle's stony eyes followed Tay as he left. The first year girl had gotten to him, she could tell. A small twisted smile formed on her lips and she stood as well. Quite done with all of the festivities. She had no interest in any of it. As she ghosted past the blonde girl she stopped. "Nora was it?" She asked her. Silver eyes puzzling out the first year. Michelle would definitely be keeping an eye on this one. "Pleasure to meet you." She said simply before heading out of the hall. She knew she would find the sixth year wandering the dungeons as always.

►► A grim smile graced the lips of the blonde as her eyes remained locked with the young man's own glimmering golden depths. Her face was a stoic mask, carefully composed to display no outward signs of emotion as she stared at William as though she were analyzing his soul. They were hunters, circling one-another with a wary eye as they feinted and parried. A calculating eye remained on him as she analyzed his face for the duration of his silence. He was so still for so long that she wondered idly if he'd been Stunned.
Silence stretched between the two for seconds that felt like years. He cleared his throat, and she arched an eyebrow as if expecting him to speak. Another pause occupied several seconds before he addressed her, his words soft and bittersweet. The blonde rolled her stormy eyes skyward. She had no patience with cliches and enigmas. The smirk broke her indifferent mask as he seemed to question her womanhood, though she refrained from pointing that out to him. The word "rebellion" was thrown about carelessly, and Nora resisted the frown that instantly formed on her lips. The condescending smile that formed on his lips, however, elicited a glare from the blonde, smoky eyes narrowing, silver depths hardened to steel.
The back of her neck prickled quite suddenly, and Nora's head whipped around like that of a dog scenting a quarry. And then, before she could react, he turned to meet the eye of another blonde, her eyes trained on them. Nora's face was unreadable as she stared into the eyes of the other girl, analyzing and observing before stood. Though she was petite, she was also slender and strong, her back straight and her head held high. Without a backwards glance, she swept from the Great Hall and down the Slytherin corridor.

Jess smiled back at Annabelle about to explain what all had happened...

And then the howler went off!

For several minutes, there was a solid ringing in her ears, and the Slytherin Prefect took a little time to recover by trying to pop her ears. Once she fully recovered, everyone was beginning to move the younger Slytherins to the Common Room and Jess took that as her cue.

Standing up, the willowy redhead help guide the first years toward the dungeons...

Eliora hurried into the Great Hall. Why was she hurrying, you ask? Because she was bloody hungry. Anywho, despite her hurrying, Eliora remained graceful and poised in her posture and step. She glanced down the Slytherin table before choosing to sit near where she had sat the night previous at the Feast. Dinner started at 5:00 pm, and at 5:50 it was still nearly empty. Hopefully one of her few friends would come and eat soon.

Eli sat down and looked at all of the food, trying to make a decision. Finally, she placed some chicken breast with really crispy skin, some carrots, and some mashed potatoes with gravy. She filled up a glass with cranberry juice and started to eat.

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
Sixth Year
Great Hall/ Slytherin Table

The table for the serpents was usually a quiet place to come and just sit for awhile when you had a break in classes. Ronyo was enjoying such a time right now as he sat with simply a cup of water and looked to calm his mind. His eyes were closed and he was allowing his sixth sense to broaden and move across the school. He had gotten better at the exercise from his days in training in China and now he could feel the positive and negative emotions buzzing across the hallways and classrooms. It was never enough to pin-point anyone from a distance but enough to have an idea of the overall feeling of the school. At closer ranges Ronyo could almost see some people in the great hall at their tables, and those he knew well enough he could see a nice outline around them. Sounds and smells played a large part in assisting his sixth sense in preserving the environment around him.

The act also helped to calm his mind and look deep within his own personal self. He used these moments to work on breaking down the mental barrier that kept him from fully utilizing his spell knowledge and skill in his two wands. Ronyo had create a visual representation of the barrier in his mind's eye as a large wall. It was an easier concept to work on breaking through than a sea of images and emotional thought from his lost friends. The white haired boy knew he could always call upon his inner spell strength, the dragon of energy that lurked deep within himself, but that always caused an uncontrolled reaction. Until he could gain his normal control back he could not begin to work on finding the best way to utilize his deep network of energy reserves. He had plenty of time though as this school year was proving to be a great one with the new member to the club joining up, and he still had one more year to get his affairs in order. With luck he would be capable of helping more than just the school once he left the great castle.

Eretria walked into the Great hall and took a seat, intent on getting something to eat before she had to get to class. Her eyes scanned the table. Nothing seemed to be amiss at the table, so she shrugged and started to grab a piece of toast when an owl landed before her. She frowned, then her eyes widened as she regarded the red letter. There was only one person that would send a howler, and her hands started to shake.

She swallowed nervously as she reached for the letter, and when she grabbed it from the owl, it had started to smoke. Why the bloody hell couldn't it have been recieved somewhere else? Before she could muse on that idea, she had flicked open the letter, and closed her eyes as her father's voice sounded.

"Eretria, I know I have raised you better than this. You should not have walked out of class in the middle of your lesson, regardless of the reason. I expect for you to be better than that. There had better not be a next time." Her father's voice, while calm and collected as always, seemed to cut her badly. Opening her eyes, she caught the last vestiges of the letter burning on the table before her. Her back straightened, and she glared at anyone that seemed to look her way.

The remnant of curdling fire and torched, ripping paper filled his ears as he entered the Great Hall, a small wisp of the words of a howler had fluttered within his ears, to which, already marked the sign of ill fortune like the black crow. He shook the thoughts away, the gray clouds hanging over him ominous and decaying, a streak of black rain puddles his lingering footsteps as he approached. Gliding down the long, narrow aisle beside the house of prideful emerald and wanton silver, Dominic’s eyes of twinkling crystalline blues ravaged the table for a head of white hair.

”Storm,” Dom had called across the table, meandering along until he found himself an open seat directly across from his captain. ”We need to talk—about the last game, and the next ones coming…

“I was trying to find Belle before our match against Hufflepuff, she’s always one of the first to show, so when she wasn’t there—I knew something had happened. I humbly apologize for not making it back to the game on time, or in the least, let you know where I was going. I finally did find Belle, in the owlery know less, she had gotten a letter from her da’, her mum, my aunt, went missing.

“We’ve been getting a flood of letters lately, that’s why Belle hasn’t shown up for her classes, the games, or even to eat. The letters keep piling up, the paper, the authorities, family..”
Dominic bit back a choked growl and sighed, sharp canines biting in to the flesh of his lips as he battled these next words. ”They found her, this morning actually. Her mum was murdered down in Knockturn Alley, but the aurors won’t say any more about it. I’m not sure…

“I’m not sure if either one of us will be ready for our game against Gryffindor next week… but I’ll try.”

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
Sixth Year
Great Hall Slytherin Table

His mind had cleared well, and he could start to fill the mostly positive emotions coming from about the castle. There was a wide range of feelings from quick burst of joy from the sight or a boyfriend or girlfriend, the long and holding happiness after a successfully passed test, and the normal everyday feelings from those who liked the day for just being a new one. Quickly Ronyo was brought to the sudden feeling of fear as he opened his eyes to fill that coming from one of his fellow team members. Eretria opened the red letter with shaking hands and seemed to shrink as the male voice did what the letter indicated, howl. Ronyo was going to see if the girl needed anything when Dominic approach him with some grave news.

He had planned to confront each of them separately and find out if everything was alright given their love for Quidditch. Ronyo had hoped it was just separate issues that each of them were working on, because frankly those were easier to deal with. This was much dire and more horrible as his fellow beater talked to him about the murder of his Aunt, Belle's mother. Ronyo understood the loss of a parent but he was so young when his father died that it did not affect him when it happened. Ronyo stood and placed a hand on Dominic's shoulder as he looked the boy in the eyes to show sympathy and sorrow.

"I'm so sorry Dom, my heart goes out to you and to Belle. You don't worry about the games, they are just that games. You will be missed but you focus on family and see to the more important matters before you think about getting back in the air. I would be worried about the two of you if you came back so quickly after such an ordeal. Your safety is my top concern and I would not risk that simply to obtain bragging rights against another house," Ronyo looked away for a moment and took a deep breath taking in the whole situation, "If you would like I have some friends that might be able to learn more if you would like. One just happens to be close to the head Auror and maybe just maybe we can find something to at least give you two hope that the vile person who did this will be caught. If either of you need anything just let me know."
