Gems are a nice, untraceable source of income.
Ithorians are masters of Repulsorlift technology.
Besides, if Pirates thought logically, Prisons across the galaxy would soon be overcrowded.

Arcadian gems are worthless really. That's why half the mines shut down on the planet, because they flooded the market with them.

And Ithorians are just one of many species with repulsorlift technology.

You can do what you want, it just seems that you're picking on small targets for such a large crew.

Not to mention, you getting "involved" with FP and DA would mean Cale would be over his fears of the Jedi.

You put up such a protest when the discussion of cale's fears came up I just assumed you were going to keep him that way.

As for a larger target, I was thinking more along the lines of a superweapon for your ships, like a high power laser or something to really punch a hole in a freighter.

.............The point is to CATCH a freighter. not hole it! I cant resell scrap for near as much as an intact freighter. Besides, if I went around flashing a big super weapon around, all that would get me is banned from every civilized port in the galaxy. I'd have to travel to shadow ports for supplies and repairs and that would cost me three times as much as a legal port.
Piracy is a buisness Nelo. and there are just some things you don't do because its bad for buisness. Such as spacing crews, taking slaves, massacreing colony settlements, cheating your infochants, stiffing your crew of their pay, and wielding superweapons around with typical imperial regard for life as you're suggesting I do.

Seriously, they can't say you have a superlaser like on Enforcer 1 if the custom patrol doesn't ever respond to dispatch.

You underestimate the power of Word of Mouth, especially among space farers.
And if I start Killing cops, they start killing me. thats the way the system works.
The minute you kill a Police cruiser full of cops, you go from dashing hero to wanted killer.
Its bad for buisness.

Fine. A hypervelocity gun to disable the engines without worrying about the shields. Much quicker kill... er... capture.

The only usce I'd have for a hyper velocity gun is to defend Skull Base.
If I want to capture a ship, I'll just be more cost efficient and use Ion guns and Conner nets.

Besides, Ive seen the price tag on super weapons. well beyond a raider's budget.
