As Bucky neared the Bug Buzz, the sound had him stop, uncurling to cover his ears. Strange enough, the beaver was still running toward the Ledian, which worked for Dan. "Use Super Fang!" he instructed, Bucky using his momentum to leap at Aster; his buck teeth growing longer and giving off a faint red glow as he attempted to strike the bug.

"Aster, use Reflect again!" Keiko shouted. The Super Fang would smash up against an invisible wall of force, but Aster couldn't keep up the energy as long this time, and ended up on one knee.
"Sorry, he's never had to hold out for this long before," Keiko said before walking up to the Ledian, holding its Pokeball in one hand. "That's okay, Aster. You tried your hardest. Come on, you can have a rest for now."
Aster was returned to his pokeball, only for Cerberus, Keiko's Dodrio, to appear. "Okay, Dodrio. Keep up with Bucky by using Agility." Keiko ordered. Cerberus ran about the room in an effort to push its speed up, but it was evident just from watching this that Cerberus was vastly superior than Aster in terms of movement ability.

Bucky cheered in excitement, seeing as he defeated Aster while Dan praised him on a job well done. "That's ok, I think he did a fine job too" he replied to Keiko just before she returned her Ledian.
Her next pokemon of choice sent a chill down the backs of both trainer and pokemon. It wasn't that hard to see Bucky had a weakness to speed and with an opponent in Dodrio, this wasn't going to be easy. 'And she had it use Agility...' Dan commented to himself as he thought about what his Bibarel could do.
"Ah! Bucky use Rock Smash on the ground" he instructed. The beaver nodded and did as he was told, raising a glowing orange fist before bring it down on the ground. The only thing it accomplished was making the ground uneven, which was Dan's aim. If they couldn't catch up to Cerberus, they could try to slow it down...

Another day went by since I sent Articuno off to go meet up with Miles once again in the Hyda region. I was left trying to pass the time more until Sub calls for me for whatever reason. To change things up from trying to Pokemon train, or have a massive workout in the training room, I simply went back to the basics that Miles taught me, only a few steps further. One probably would notice that it got severely colder in the area, colder than the weather, despite only being a couple weeks before officially winter that the weather would permit...that would have been my fault. Articuno have been known to bring a bitter cold where they fly, where they roost, and so on. I was actually trying to exert my chi to the very limits, trying to manipulate the air as I sat there upon the rocks. Sure, everyone inside the headquarters and any Pokemon holed up in their dens would stay warm enough. Those outside and topside would...probably feel a bit cold.

While most people had the good sense to stay inside on days like this, it had drawn a certain brown furred individual out of Headquarters because, as it happened, most of the native Pokemon had gone into hiding. This made for perfect shiny-finding conditions. Jude pulled at his scarf as he trekked the trail leading into the mountain's rougher foothills. Even bundled up as he was, his coat matched his pants matched his shoes matched his fur.
In dress as well as in diet and trinket excursions, Jude was meticulous as ever.

As I continued to sit at the rocks, I perked up, feeling a presence out of place within the cold I was bringing about to the area. I started to look about. The presence...not all that strong, though I have to admit, gutsy enough to come out here with me doing this. I scooted forward, looking down below to see if anything stood out. It wouldn't be long until I spotted out Jude in probably the thickest winter apparel I have ever caught sight of. Not even those in Snowpoint in the Sinnoh region get that padded down. "I take it you don't like the cold, do you?" I asked the Furret hybrid.

Within the span of a single twitch, Jude had turned toward Blizz's direction, armed with the Pokeball and pocket knife from his pants. But when he looked up and saw it was Blizz, he put them away, squinting up like nothing had happened. "Hey, so you're out here, too," he said. "I get the feeling that to you, wearing anything more than a shirt means you don't like the cold."

"No, I just never really seen anyone...well...make themselves look like a multi-colored snowman, being so padded down and all." I asked. "I'm actually quite surprised you can move in that."

Jude crossed his arms in the most playfully petulant manner he could muster. "Contrary to popular belief, just because I wear shades of umber, chestnut and cordovan doesn't make me a multicolored snowman," he said. "Besides, I just blow-dried my fur. It's all poofy under here. It doesn't help that my coat's growing in thick this year around this big ol' mountain."

"God, when spring hits, Tails is going to be shedding like crazy again." I then said.

"I've heard," said Jude. "From the lilikoi boy himself. He tried to recruit me to his shedding shenanigans, but I gave him an excuse about needing to brush it out."
He pushed his hands (which were surprisingly without gloves) into his pockets. "Truth is, I wouldn't be caught dead with my fur all over the place."

"Yeeeeah, don't get me wrong, I try to tell the kid to brush his fur out. Usually, telling him that he'll ending up cleaning his own mess is enough to make sure he does it." I said, coming down off the rocks finally. "Anyways, so what brings you out here anyways?"

"It's a nice day out and it looks like most of the more grabby Pokemon are hiding away," said Jude. Though, as Blizz soared down to him, he shivered as though a bitter breeze blew by. "That means I finally get to look for any shiny things that just happen to be laying around out here."

"That means I finally get to look for any shiny things that just happen to be laying around out here." The 'Gollum' analogy started to come back to mind, but I held my tongue. I have to admit, that was pretty wrong to say the first time, but by GOD it fit so well. "Shiny things?" I asked. "Why am I not surprised. Though, you know, as long as I have been up in this mountain range, the only thing shiny I've really seen is the waters that flow during the spring time. Beyond that? Ehhh...not really much shine to anything unless you end up digging for it."

"I'm usually not the one that digs them up," said Jude. "There are lots of little paws and claws that do that work for me. And when the owners of those paws and claws find out they can't eat that shiny green thing they dug up, they leave it laying around."
A pensive pause.
"Usually."
Those finds were the long and messy stories he cared not to recount.
