It takes a special sort of occurrence to make a Vulpix kid squeal with delight, and even hot chocolate did not elicit such a response these days. He ran and hopped onto Blizz's bed, grinning wide. It did not take him long to find the true treasures of the lot -- those burnt chocolate chip cookies who, while burnt to a crisp around the edges, retained a soft and gooey middle once they were warmed.
"What was in their letter this year?" he asked, then promptly held a cookie above him to puff warm smoke at it.

"What was in their letter this year?" he asked, then promptly held a cookie above him to puff warm smoke at it. "Oh just a few things. Told me about Kitsune and her...well...prowling about. Also for some reason she wants to be called June now. Don't know why." I said. "Also, she is apparently awaits the opportunity to see you and Tristen again. Then again, the same can be said of basically everyone we know in Hyda. It'd be one of the reasons now that I actually considered taking a trip over there at one point or another." I said.

This was just getting better and better. Tails didn't know Kitsune too well, but if she was eager to see them, he could imagine nothing wrong with it. "Maybe she wants to take me on a tour through some volcanic passages," he said. "I bet she knows some that go down for miles."
It was on such an innocent thought that he savored his first cookie. To most people, the outermost crispness of the cookie might have induced gagging. To Tails, it was an exquisite marriage of sweet and smoky flavors in a potpourri of fossilized chips and gooey insides.

Last thing I want is to lose you to the depths of the earth." I said. I think I best slowly start getting into it, otherwise it will never be brought up. "Though it leaves me to wonder just a bit, real quick. Probably nothing important, but just...I guess curious." I spoke up. "You've been hard at it around here lately. You think you'd be up for a short vacation?" I asked.

"Blizz, I think right now if you offered me a trip to a volcano or a trip to Hyda, I'd pick the trip to Hyda," Tails explained before prepping Cookie Number Two.

Trigram Attack "Blizz, I think right now if you offered me a trip to a volcano or a trip to Hyda, I'd pick the trip to Hyda," Tails explained before prepping Cookie Number Two. Well, he seems to be fine in that regard. Nothing wrong as of yet. "Well, just got me curious is all. It really just about got me wondering what got you going at this pace in the first place? I mean, hey, don't get me wrong, I think it's pretty good you're doing all of this. And if today is any indication, I think you'll be just fine." I said. "But really, anything happen recently that got you so motivated?" I then asked, taking a cookie myself.

"I wanted to have a buncha stories to tell Tristen," said Tails. There was no thinking involved in the response. "And because I can't let Jude show me up because he goes with the team sometimes too."
Even now, he got this exaggerated, incredulous look whenever he thought about it. "He doesn't even eat any meat. I can't be shown up by a vegetarian."
And even though it had been a year since he last saw Miles, the boy still had a knack for the italic dialect.

Sounds like something that he would answer with. Though that isn't to say that Tristen wants a bit of story time to give, too, though, he doesn't have quite the capabilities that Tails has. He's trying though. I was silent for at least a couple of minutes, allowing Tails to enjoy his cookie and allowed myself to down the one I had as well. I thought for a moment. I couldn't just avoid this...perhaps the straightforward route it is, with a bit of a twist. "Say Tails, I didn't realize it until now...something that you said back in the shower." I spoke up. "You mentioned the lab when you compared that one guy's screaming. Ein's lab...uh...are you...perhaps starting to remember stuff? I don't know...anything?" I asked, curiosity speaking, with a hint of concern that I couldn't quite hide.

Tails nodded, again without reservation, then crossed his legs and leaned forward to think about it. "It started gradually," he said. "Sounds that were spooking me. Really claustrophobic dreams. The look of fear I sometimes see in a Rattata."
He sighed. "If I saw Ein again, I don't know if I could keep myself from killing him." He looked up again to Blizz, and his eyes pleaded for absolution. "Does that make me bad, Blizz?"

"If it does, then I'm just as bad, if not possibly worse, because I saw to it that I would take him out myself. When he reared his head over a year ago, when we finally joined up with everyone again, I have to admit I actually kinda used Miles not being around as an excuse to go after him. It was probably a good thing that I didn't get my hands around him. Regardless and fortunately, we won't have to hear from that man anymore. He's done for good." I said, putting my arm around him, holding him close. "Ein was one of those guys who saw no evil in his actions; it was all for science and the ends justified the means. He didn't care about the Pokemon or the people he affected with his outrageous experiments. Personally, a guy like that, to me, needed to be stopped by any means. He wasn't going to do on his own." I said.

"Mm."
This was enough for Tails. He was no worse than Blizz, and no one could accuse Blizz of doing anything but his very best. And maybe of being a wet blanket at a party. Maybe.
"So does that mean if I see someone doing bad things, I'm allowed to kick their butt?"
He couldn't let that tender moment last forever. There were cookies to be had.

"Heh, I guess it depends on how bad." I said. And incidentally, it was enough for me too. Tails was just fine; if albeit rattled from his dreaming. Though really, a bad dream would be enough to get to anyone for at least a short bit. Even myself. Though I had to go off the topic with one more thing. "Well, just remember what I told you a little bit ago, Tails...if anything is bothering you, just let me know, okay?" I told him. "If those dreams, memories, whatever becomes too much, just say something. Okay? Here..." I said, holding the box up for him again. "Have another."

Now in the training, after having spent pretty much the entire night in the bath trying to get that smell off, fearless leader was now training with his Spiritomb. He was proud of his Pokemon's performance back in the Under but he still felt like he needed more training, as such they were now practicing Hex. Griswald was shockingly enough practicing it on Sub himself, so that the training may feel the severity of the attack and see where the Pokemon is lacking. As the Spiritomb morphed its body into a twisted eye and stared down at Sub, the trainer's mind was attacked with feelings of fear and dread...however, he didn't scream.
"Geh...not bad, Griswald, but I'm still standing." He said with a smirk, as he shook his head, stood up straight and yawned, signaling that he had broke through the Hex, still hurt, but Sub had a natural chi advantage against Ghost type moves in the first place, plus he has personally trained with each of his Pokemon, not only to strengthen them, but to also strengthen himself, though sometimes it puts him in the med lab.

It was later that Tails lay in the living room, modest only by virtue of one of the oversized shirts he kept in his closet. He rested on the couch in an attempt to sleep off a stomachache from all those cookies he'd eaten. He did not regret it in the least, for he was straight with Blizz again and it was okay to not like people from the Under. Good enough.
If only it didn't feel like there was an imaginary dagger lodged in his belly...

A groan sounded from the now washed body as it struggled to it's feet. Scorch marks coated his face and a small amount of his hair was singed black but otherwise it appeared he had managed to avoid getting too badly wounded. watching Sub training with his Pokemon, Reno gave another groan in hopes of getting his attention.
