Before anyone could move, Ariel appeared in flames before approaching Damien. A baby in her grasp as she smiled to her former husband, "My King, this is your new daughter, Astarte. The other children have taken to her and have granted her access to live."
Damien was pleased to see he had another child. The more he had the better it seemed. With Astarte and the twins, that meant now 23 children he had fathered. Damien kissed the top of Naomi's head as Ariel showed her the baby as well, "She looks mostly like Damien, but she will be under my care and my domain."
"Understood," Damien nodded in agreement, "She may go wherever she pleases in my kingdom."
Ariel smiled at Naomi, "Your twins look very healthy within you, Naomi. I hope they are born without any problems."
Isabel squirmed when she felt Ariel's aura. It wasn't bad or good, it was just irritating to her. She whimpered before clinging tightly to Rose, "Mean..."

"We weren't even remotely interested in each other at that time. You were only a baby and I was just a kid," Damien hissed defensively as the castle appeared in the distance, "This will take far too long."
The entire group was engulfed in a thick fog and reappeared at the doorstep to the castle. Damien was greeted as a king as they were all escorted inside by his demonic servants. He placed Naomi on her feet, holding her steady, "You ought to get some rest. I'll take us to our room."
"M'lord," Ariel purred as she came into view, "There is work to be done if you plan on taking your throne back."
"I will get to it when I can. For now, I leave you as the caretaker," Damien waved her away.
"Then you, woman," Ariel looked to Rose, "You fancy yourself with a sword. If you don't plan on betraying Damien and his family again, you may call yourself Captain of the Guard."

"You were just a baby when you first saw me. All I saw as a kid was that we had a connection. Neither of us knew it would end up like this," Damien could see Naomi was reading way into it and was getting uncomfortable, "Besides, when they took you away and I was on my own, I didn't just go straight to Ariel. I lived my life, she happened to help me along the way, and that's how it happened. There wasn't a first choice, it was just what happened next."
Naomi had a better chance at competing with Leila or Isabel for his attention than she did Ariel. He would always care about Ariel as the mother of his children, but Naomi was special to him. Then again, he understood it was all or nothing for Naomi. Damien knew she would be more than elated if he just abandoned his family just so she didn't have to see them or acknowledge that they came first.
"Let's just get you to rest," Damien ushered her into their room, "It's not that you're not my first choice. We were no where even close to each other and if Leila never had found me, neither would have you. In the end, everything is by chance. You could not have possibly thought that I would just think, 'Well I knew that baby kind of liked being around me, maybe i'll just sit for a thousand years and wait until we're together to see if she'll be my mate'. That's now how the world works."
"You are not truly a demon. You would not understand," Ariel looked Rose up and down, "Either way. If you betray those you serve and protect, your head will be served on a platter to be feasted on."
Ariel's eyes scanned Garreth. She remembered him as the weak man that Damien's sister fathered a child for. Whatever she saw in the man meant nothing now since Leila was dead. Ariel gave him a slight nod, "My condolences for your loss. Damien's sister was someone I was starting to respect. You have my sympathies."

Isabel squirmed from her father's grasp until she found herself on the ground. Did she float? The last time she checked there weren't any wings to keep her safe. She began to crawl around, curious of her surroundings until she came a sharp-eyed baby around her age. Who was she? The other toddler smirked playfully before reaching over and pulling at Isabel's sandy-colored hair. Isabel whimpered helplessly before reaching out to pull the girl's dark hair too.
"Astarte, play nicely," Ariel chastised as she reached down and picked up Isabel, "Shh, sweet child, don't darken the lovely light of yours. This is your cousin, let her be like a sister to you."
Isabel felt odd being held by the dark mistress. She peered down at Astarte, who grinned widely.
Damien held Naomi tightly in his arms, kissing her softly before saying, "I understand, my love. Let us rest. We've both had a long day and we ought to mourn the loss of our sister and brother."
He did love Leila so much, and he would miss her. He would also mourn the loss of Klaus because he was his father's first attempt at perfection. Damien ushered Naomi to the bed. Though he knew she couldn't sleep restfully, he at least wanted to lay down with her so he could caress her and check on his twins residing within her growing womb.
