Entry Number: CEC-1 Subject: Corellian Engineering Corporation Type: Canon Capsule:
Corellian Engineering Corporation is the one thing in the galaxy that spacers love more than their vices. Why? Because they make the best damn ships in the galaxy.
While an entry for the OGG could simply end there, I'm going to go ahead and give the throwdown on what CEC really is.
Originally known as the Corellian Engineering Corps, the corporation is a system-wide starship and arms manufacturer, based in the Corellia system. The Corellia System is home to The Five Worlds a series of artificially created planets that all support life and were made by an extremely powerful, long dead civilization (likely the Architects). The entire system is hime to a massive shipyards that is only rivaled in size by rival Kuat Drive Yards.
CEC's earlist known origins date several hundred years BBY, with the release of the S-100 Stinger class starfighter, used in the Exar Kun Wars. More recent is the YG series, the first of which being the YG-4210 Light Freighter. This was basically your standard, ill-armed reconnaisance vehicle. This design, and later variations set the standard for years to come: spacers normally found the ship a good all-around vessel, but then customized it to fit their own specific needs.
CEC vessels are infamous for their customization. Ever since the YG-series, CEC has gone out of it's way to make their ships fully-customizable with both legal and illegal after market kits. In theory, you can get pretty close to an infinite number of variations for any particular ship.
CEC's most notable designs came from the legendary YT-series, specifically the YT-1300 and YT-2400. That's right, CEC made the Millenium Falcon and The Outrider. Have I won you over yet? The defining characteristic of these models were their distinct oval-shapes.
Another popular line was the CR-series, which brought us the CR90 and CR70 corvettes. For those of you unfamiliar with the designation, those are the blockade runners used by Princess Leia and Seneator Organa in episodes IV and III.
The most startling bit about CEC is that their operation is mostly revenued by civilian models. In fact, the vast majority of all CEC vessels and designs aren't even intended for use as military vessels (tell that to the Death Stars). Whereas Siennar and KDY both focus on military production, CEC is the largest manufacturer of civilian spacecraft.
Of course, Corellian Engineering Corporation doesn't just make ships. They also design vehicles and ship components. Weapons include the Ap/11 double laser cannon and the AG-1G laser cannon.
And yet, while they don't specialize in starfighter manufacture, like Incom or Sienar, CEC has dipped their hands into that pot. One of their models, the LAF-250 Starfighter was used in the "Showdown at Centerpoint." They were commonly used by the Corellian Defense Force, but after an entire wing of these were destroyed by a single, poorly equipped Nebulon-B frigate, there was a mass recall.
All in all, if you want a good ship and then want to bling it up after the fact, buy a CEC. They'll last far longer than you will, they can get you where you need to go, and it's easily replacable (pending 10-year, 100,000 light year warranty).

Gonna make an entry for this for reference sake. Ship Model: KDY Trireme class Corvette http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a141/Cale42/KDY_TRIREME_01_preview.jpg Speed: Good Manueverability: low Shielding: low (Bow is moderate) Armor: Good, (bow is excellent) Hyperdrive: Yes Life support systems: Yes Armament: 6 Heavy Turbolasers (3 port, 3 starboard), high frequency armor piercing vibro-rostrum, 2 boarding shuttles, Marine compliment, Tractor Beam Projectors (Port and Starboard)
juging by the size, which is easily 300 meters, I figure the crew is more around 600 men. Thats 54 officers, 503 crewmen, 43 gunners. None of this including possible passengers or boarders.

This information is out of the Star Wars Pirates & Privateers supplement by West End Games, book #40143 chapter eight: Ports of Call. Page 109. As a smuggler at hart my ship, my crew, and my livelihood depends upon such places where we smuggles can feel relatively safe to conduct our business and repair our ships from those who hunt us. I humble summit this data for appraisal for updating the entry on StarForge Station, entry #110 within the Outlaws Guide to the Galaxy. StarForge Station Deep in the hart of Ado sector’s StarForge Nebula is StarForge Station, a thorn in the side of the Empire. StarForge Station was originally simply one of thousands of small planetoids tumbling through the ancient nebula, slowly orbiting a gravity point and destined to one day become a star. The fringes of the StarForge Nebula have been used as a hiding zone by pirates and smugglers for years. 70 years ago, a small time smuggler named Muo Glandish, sick of simply diving into the Nebula and waiting for the patrol heat to die down, founded a small refuge and retreat on a nameless planetoid. Glandish had big dreams. He planned to use the base as a warehousing center and start moving black-market goods in bulk. In time, he wanted to start providing ship services – Glandish had been in the business a long time and he knew where the real money was: skimming profits off the small timers. After using the base for several profitable ventures, Glandish invested all his profits in enlarging the living quarters and started selectively inviting other smugglers to the base. After a while Glandish became a landlord, a local crime lord, and eventually a corpse. Just as the station started really pulling in profits Glandish was shot down by an old enemy (who survived him by 5 seconds). The Station administration fell first into the hands of a series of Glandish’s friends, later to a council of tenants who selected an administrator by vote. The administrator deals with the day-to-day operations of the station, and has a small staff and security force. Murder (not in fair fights), assault, and theft are punished by ether execution (in the case of murder) or permanent exile, assuming the perpetrator survives getting caught. Today, the Station boasts facilities for medium freighters and small capital ships, dozens of warehouses, repair bays, cyberdocs, arms dealers, restaurants, a casino, permanent living quarters, and the pride of the Station: StarForge Shipyards.
StarForge Shipyard The Yard was established 33 years ago by the parents of the current proprietor, Chidee NaMaak, a Duros starshipwright with years of experience constructing knockoff ships and translating client’s original “designs” into working starship. Specialty jobs are his most profitable line of work, since most clients want fully loaded ships: fast, nimble, overpowered, heavily armed, and shielded, with lots of cargo space. This is fantastically expensive, of course, not to mention highly illegal, and Chidee layers a healthy profit margin on top. Although StarForge Station has many things to offer, the real reason to go there is the Yard. Most of his work is simply constructing copies of established and proven combat ready starships and reconstructing badly damaged ones. His three spacedocks are constantly busy, and he has an average three-month-wait list. Construction takes about one week per hull die (twice as long for capital ships) and costs about double the usual new cost, depending on custom modifications and parts availability on custom modifications and parts availability. He doesn’t bargain. Take his price or don’t, cash up front. His work is guaranteed and all the repair bays on the Station often give a discount for ships built in the Yard because they know the original job was high quality and reliable and that Chidee will give technical assistance if they need it. Chidee’s staff varies from season to season, but generally numbers in the dozens, with a hundred or so droids assisting. Although a few attempts were made to muscle him out of his inheritance in the beginning, Chidee hung on hard enough to shake them. Since then he’s made enough friends and allies to not fear any local takeover.
Survival The Station is known by local law enforcement to exist. The shadowport is high on the Sector Rangers target list and the Imperial Navy would be thrilled to lend firepower or run an operation. The Yard along should bring the full might of the Empire down on the Station’s head. Yet it remains. There are several reasons for this. The first reason is complacency. Ado sector’s former Moff was a relatively complacent man with little ambition. The sector’s military force was undermanned and relied heavily on local system government to carry a large portion of the patrolling duties. That changed five years ago, with the appointment of Moff Stavveld. Stavveld has spent much of his appointment thus far bringing Ado sector’s military up to standards, which brought the attention of the Alliance more strongly into the area, which further enmeshed Imperial assets. High production rates and a redirection of Alliance activity have recently balanced the scales, and the Station may soon receive unwanted attention. The second reason is scale versus resources. The StarForge Nebula is a vast, sensor-muddling, comm-jamming cloud of seething matter. Navigating in it is difficult. Finding the Station is hard enough if you know where to look and when. Local space is full of planetoids to be avoided, requiring slow movement. The Station itself moves periodically, and puts out a net of passive sensor buoys to alert Station control of visitors. Patrols do stumble across it occasionally, fight their way out, and return with reinforcements, only to find the Station has moved on. To destroy the Station would require a massive sweep of the Nebula with forces large enough to pin the Station in its current location. When the Station has to, it can defend itself. Early on, Glandish invested some of his profits in acquiring a defense ship, and this has continued up to the present. All the tenants contribute to Station upkeep and defense, either monetarily or in time and labor. Several of the Yard’s products have gone into the small defense force over the years, including a Skipray-class 12h blastboat and an unclaimed Corellian gunship. This stock regularly rotates as newer ships become available, and older models are sold at auction to help cover expenses. Finding the Station The Station moves periodically, with an hour’s warning at best. This may be because a patrol is in the area, or because the rumorvine claims a sweep is starting, or simply because the administrator thinks, the Station has been in one place too long. Spacers aboard the Station are welcome to come along for the ride or bug out. The Station’s new location is strictly spread by word of mouth, sometimes sold off, sometimes passed to friends, by the spacers leaving from the new coordinates. The Station rarely moves very far, a few minutes in hyperspace perhaps, but this has always been enough to evade patrols so far. The Station’s location has been sold or traded to the authorities, but word has made it back in time in each case. The penalty for revealing the Station’s location is death, willingly delivered by any number of Fringe dwellers who need the Station for their livelihoods. There is a 20,000 credit standing bounty offered by the tenant council for the head of any snitch, dead or alive.
