Mine's working now. Try getting on another computer and accessing Paypal. Log out and then try getting on Paypal on your computer.

(Sometimes I do read through this thread, but I rarely post...ever...anyway...)
About the accessing paypal thing... I got a similar problem. For some reason, I can't get on to ebay or amazon. It's like the entire site is down, in that my computer just won't bring up the website. (It's almost as if I weren't connected to the internet and tried to browse the web. I get that "Unable to connect" or what not message for those websites alone.)
I don't know if this is related or not to the paypal problem... My brother and I share the same connection, and he can view the websites perfectly. For some reason, it doesn't work right for me. I have no idea why it doesn't work, but I have a suspicion that it was because of that virus. It didn't effect me in the same way it did for other people, but it certainly did something because I used to be able to browse ebay before that. In fact, I checked ebay the day before I got infected.

Someone posted on Af's new FA journal and it worked for me.
"Chances are, your hosts file has been modified.
its located in sy;stemroot%/system32/driver/etc
Modify it with Notepad and make sure to remove any entries that refer to Ebay, Paypal, and Amazon"

FogSage So, when I'm prompted to save it as a text document, I should do it? Save it as a text document, but copy your old version into a folder as a back up just in case. Then you rename it to take out the .txt extension and it should work. Thanks guys and gals! This fixed my problems! biggrin

I right clicked it, clicked open. Told it to open in notepad. Deleted the lines in question. Did file - save. Clicked the x to close it and that's that. What OS do you have? That might be what's confusing.

Man, it's been dropping into the single digits overnight for the past couple nights-- and it's gonna keep it up for the next couple nights. Winter in Pittsburgh sucks.
I'm glad I have down comforters, at least.
Unfortunately, my heater (read: boyfriend) is out of town on business again until Friday, so the only way to warm up the ice-cold bed is with my own (pathetically-low) supply of body heat. *grumble* xp

*copied and pasted from FA journal*
Last night I went with my mother to go get some dinner and on the drive to get it she asked me a question about Richard that I don't know if I answered properly. A quick summary for those of you who don't know what’s been happening in my life. Mom made a friend names Richard who is a State Trooper. Dad saw that mom was in love with him and raised hell. Mom told Richard that he can't be around her any more and that was that...or so I thought. After that Dad wouldn't let the fact that mom loved another man go and caused a lot of fighting and drama. To the point that last summer he tried to kill his self. But mom stuck with dad through all of this, even when Richard got a few of his State Trooper friends to arrest Dad for a few minor warrants, but what really got Dad mad is that even though he caused all of this drama Mom still loved him. Well a few weeks ago Mom and Dad settled this matter between them.
Anyway we were getting dinner last night and this is how it went.
Mom: "Sarah, how much of our arguments have you heard between me and your Father about Richard?"
Me: "More than you know..."
Mom: "Ok, would you be willing to call Katie?"
Me: "Who's Katie?"
Mom: "Richard's wife."
Me: "Why would I want to do that?"
Mom: "So you can let her know what her husband has done."
Me: "No, Mom if you feel the need to get her involved then YOU do it. This is something between you, Dad, and Richard. Not me and I'm not getting in the middle."
Mom: *smirks*
Me: "Why don't you guys do it? What does it have to be me?"
Mom: "Because if I called then your Father would get mad and we would start fighting again. If your Father called then Richard would find a way to put him back in jail. But if you called then you could tell her about her husband and how he almost ended an 18 year old marriage and drove your Father to try and commit suicide. You don't have a part in this but a distraught daughter. You can help."
Me: "Mom...you know what she would say if I did call and tell her this. You know what she would do, don't you?"
Mom: "No, tell me Sarah, what would she do?"
Me: "Call me a liar and say that her husband would never force some one to try and till their selves."
Mom: "No she wouldn't. Richard has a past for cheating."
Me: "Oh goodie." *rolls eyes* "So you wanted to screw up your family life and his life for a hot fling? Its nice to know where your standards are Mom."
Mom: "I would not have. I was in LOVE with him. It would have been different..."
Me: "Really Mom? Tell me about his past then. How many wives has he had?"
Mom: "Ok well he has had three. The first one he cheated on, the second one she cheated on him and during the divorce he meat Katie and then got married to her."
Me: "See Mom you wouldn't have been different..."
We didn't really talk much after that. But I can't help but thinking did I make the right choice, is there even a right choice to make? I mean if I did call and tell Katie then what would happen? Would Richard arrest Dad again or would he go for Mom? Would I get yelled at for telling a loving wife that her so called husband is trying to cheat on her? I keep replaying last night over and over in my head and the different out comes that could happen if I did call.
Mom is hurt I know that and, I also know that she is wanting Katie and Richard to hurt as much as she has for what he has done, and trust me he has done a lot. But then I start to think that Richard didn't really do those things, my Dad's weak control over his self and his emotions and lack of forethought did. I don't really know, so what I'm asking you is did I do the right thing in staying out of it, or did I just doom my family to endless fussing behind me and my brother's backs?

You did the right thing, Shadow, you did the mature and logical thing.
You sound far more intelligent and mature than your mother at lest and I give props to your dad for not outright leaving her for all he has been through. It says a lot that he has stayed to work things out.
I hope one day your mother realizes she was never in love with this Richard and that is was nothing more than a school-girl crush. He also sounds like a horrible person that is not above abusing his power to get what he wants. Which is a scary thing, people like that you just never know how far they are willing to go.
