"Don't mind me, Odd's trying to scare me out of becoming a channeler," Keiko said teasingly, winking at Lykas.
"Sup, Lykas," Chaos asked after Keiko made her remark.

"I wouldn't be too scared. It's definitely not something to jump into if it's anything like becoming a hybrid, though." Lykas said as he opened the fridge with one of his tentacles, reaching in and grabbing a small bag of carrot sticks with another before closing it again.
"It's not." Odd countered him.
"Not much, Chaos. Finally getting the hang of this Chi thing." Lykas responded tot he older male. "I can actually use my attack without feeling like my brain's going to explode now. It's just not very strong yet......"
"That's good. Chi control is the first serious step to mastering your powers." Odd would counter, being ignored once more as Lykas sat down by Chaos.
"I'm thinking of going back to confront my dad now..... I ran into him the day I turned hybrid and he seemed like he was interested in making amends but I don't know if I want him to...." Lykas admitted to Chaos, giving a small shudder at the thought of a goody-two-shoes like Wallace trying to weasel his way into his life.

Keiko giggled, all fear and worry vacant form her mind. "It's nice to see you again. Been a while."
Chaos kind of stared at Lykas as the tentacles growing out of the back of the adolescent's neck wrapped around the handle of the refridgerator door, moving in unison to pull the offending object to the side. Somehow, through some miracle of the planets' alignment, he managed to keep his mouth shut until mention of Lykas's parentage was made. "Old man giving you ~/~, huh? I know that feel."

"Pretty much." Lykas agreed. "He's never really been a part of my life up until I showed up needing to get into the Cave of Origin. He tried to make it up to me with a Water Stone." He audibly scoffed at the idea before taking a bite out of one of his carrot sticks.
"At least you have a dad, you know. The least you could do is give him a chance, don't you think?" Odd asked.
"Not a chance. He wanted nothing to do with me as a kid and he's not going to now that I'm an adult. Or a hybrid, specifically." Lykas countered, becoming angrier at the very idea of Wallace's gall to act like it.

"Shoulda shoved it up his ~/~. He clearly doesn't deserve to be a father. You're a lucky man not to have to deal with s**t like this, Odd." Chaos laughed.
Keiko faced Odd and shook her head, afraid to disagree with Chaos verbally after their fight earlier but disagreeing with him nonetheless.
"Wait. Cave of Origins. Don't tell me this ~/~ lives in ~/~ Hoenn." Chaos blurted out suddenly.

Lykas laughed at Chaos' response to Wallace's personality but didn't agree verbally with his comments to Odd. He knew his partner longed for a family of his own but he wasn't going to disagree with Chaos, either. On the contrary, he wholeheartedly agreed with the statement but that might just be from a biased opinion of 'family'.
"Ya.... He's the Gym leader in Sootopolis City." Lykas finally announced. "He's the protector of the Cave of Origin and a total ~/~."
"Lykas! Show a little respect, please." Odd exclaimed, shocked by Lykas' words. Why would be anyone's guess.
"Fine. With all due respect -which is none, on my part- he's a ~/~." Lykas reiterated.
Odd shook his head in exasperation. He smiled to Keiko, though. Her understanding of his situation with the family made him feel a bit better about it.

Keiko sighed at the uphill battle Odd was faced with and put a hand on his shoulder. "Let's just get out of here and let them stew," she whispered into Odd's ear.
Chaos, on the other hand, was only getting louder. "~/~," he exclaimed, stretching the word. "You ever need help talking sense into that ~/~, lemme know. I'll risk showing my face in Sooty for the chance to teach his sorry ~/~ a lesson or two."

"You know what? I'm going!" Lykas declared after a moment of silence, thinking over what Chaos had said. He needed to confront his father at last and he felt like taking Chaos would prove beneficial in the long run. Crappy father or not, he wasn't sure he'd have it in him to hit the man if he deserved it.
Odd missed this declaration as he had taken Keiko's advice and stepped out of the room. "Keiko, would you like to do some training with me? I want to work with Rhythm." He asked the girl, giving his reason a moment later.

Chaos didn't reply vocally to Lykas's newfound determination to face his father. Instead, the freakshily tall psychopath merely followed after his young disciple, interested in greeting the offending elder with violence. If it came to that.
After all, Chaos has always prided himself in the methods to his madness.
In the less homicidal side of the complex, Keiko smiled at the offer Odd made and nodded. "Okay. It's been too long since I've spent any time with them. I'll try to give you a challenge!"

"I'm sure you will. Your Pokemon are fairly strong on their own but it's been a while since either of ours have done any real battling so let's make sure to do our best. For our Pokemon's sake." Odd replied with a grin, leading the way down to the Battlefield in the basement.

Once at the Training Room - or wherever Odd led her to, Keiko released Aster and smiled at him. "Feel up to a battle, Aster?"
Aster the Ledian buzzed to life, and after flapping its wings vigorously enough to get it airborne, it turned to Odd - the only other human in the area - and buzzed loudly in agreeance. He was up for some exercise.

Odd smiled at Aster's enthusiasm. "Alright, then." With that, he released Rhythm the Klink from his Ball and the Steel Type moved forward, taking up a position on the battlefield.
Always the gentleman, he gave Keiko a small bow and said, "Ladies first."

Klink? It looks like... Steel-type, maybe? I wonder...
Keiko was having doubts about how to respond to the pokemon Odd brought out, but decided that worrying would hurt Aster's momentum in the battle. "Okay, Aster. Maybe try opening the battle with a... Mach Punch?"
Aster didn't take Keiko's awkward speaking as a question and lunged into the fray, extending a closed fist aimed straight at the gear-shaped enemy.

"Autotomize, Rhythm!" Odd called out to his partner. Rhythm nodded and his gears fired in opposite directions at a massive speed, both glowing silver. The speed boost helped to evade Aster's attack but the increase came at a cost when Odd called out his follow-up move. "Vicegrip!" The gears came crashing back together, intending to capture Aster's fist in motion but they returned to one another too fast and were struck, anyway. Odd cringed at the sight, feeling like an idiot for acting too quickly.

Keiko's smile widened slightly and unintentionally - a testament to her excitement. Aster hadn't lost his touch, it would seem. But two could play the speed game. "Get some distance, Aster! Agility!"
Aster obeyed and leapt back toward his mistress, only to veer off from that path and dart around the room in an attempt to increase his speed.
